Hollywoodbets Greyville’s Monday polytrack meeting presents another competitive card, with several open handicaps and maidens providing opportunities for punters.
The opening maiden could go the way of Sierra Foxtrot, who has produced two encouraging polytrack efforts and benefits from a favourable draw. Midnight Hour is expected to improve after a needed comeback run, while Come Together has shown progress since joining a new stable and adapting to the surface. Debutante Anniversary raced green first-up but showed enough ability to suggest improvement is forthcoming.
In the first leg of the PA, Skipper Zip appeals after a solid return from a break and now races with first-time blinkers. Ubuntu Of Peace has shown promise in both starts and should be nearing peak fitness, while lightweight Levitator enjoys a significant weight advantage after improving on the poly. Juveniles Tiger Cody and The Bidder also enter calculations despite conceding weight to older rivals.
The Pick 6 begins with a tricky contest. Summer Winter boasts solid course-and-distance form and was runner-up last time, while polytrack specialist Magical Sky and consistent Catch A Penny look major threats. Emerald Forge impressed when winning on local debut and could follow up if she handles the surface.
One of the stronger bets on the card appears to be Green Commander, who ran an excellent second in an Open Maiden while conceding 7kg to the winner. Racing on level terms this time, he looks capable of going one better. Let It Roll has shown improvement and should be competitive, while blinkers and Andrew Fortune could help Black Platina find extra.
The middle-distance handicap looks open, but Gallic Victor has improved since switching to the poly and should appreciate the extra trip. Island Forever, Red Bomber and Blue Steel all have claims, with the latter scoring impressively over course and distance last time.
Lunch Money drops in class and is well drawn, making him a leading contender despite top weight. Green Mile remains a reliable performer on the poly, while Global Movement is another dropping in class and receives a valuable apprentice allowance. Progressive filly Meeksha steps up in trip against older horses after consistent recent performances.
In Race 8, Lady Jean makes her poly debut after competing in stronger feature company and could prove hard to beat. Saudi Sweep is better than her latest run suggests, while veteran Mystique Rouge has excellent recent poly form and benefits from a useful 4kg claim.
The finale is a competitive handicap where Poetic Princess seeks a hat-trick after consecutive victories, including a course-and-distance success. Veteran Arilena improved sharply on the poly, while Quentasia and Take Your Place are both capable of featuring in a wide-open contest.
