Greeff can provide the bankers

Trainer Alan Greeff

The Alan Greeff – Richard Fourie combination is in full stride at the moment, so we will look to them to provide bankers for the Pick 6 and Jackpots. The two, to be specific, are Hoerikwaggo and Homing Pigeon.

Hoerikwaggo runs in Race 4, a MR 92 Handicap on Monday. This four-year-old filly has won three of her 12 starts and has been runner-up in her last three starts. Looking at her form, it is noticeable that Fourie does get the best out of this filly, and he has been aboard her in all three of her wins.

She is suited to the Polytrack, having won once and finished runner-up twice. Those runner-up efforts were behind some talented stable companions in the form of Virgin River and Avernian Goddess. Drawn in pole position, she could get the run of the race.

Her stable companion, Homing Pigeon, is set to take out the lucky last race, a MR 76 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1900m. It took this Hawwaam filly nine starts to break her maiden, but she is clearly improving.

The three-year-old filly has progressed well at this centre and opened her account in March when a 7.25-length winner over Missouri Flame, who won just last week to frank that form.

Homing Pigeon was next seen when a gallant third behind stablemate Anotherdanceforme. Trying the Polytrack for the first time, she was successful by 0.50 lengths over San Quintin. She was always travelling well and won with something in hand. Homing Pigeon only picked up a two-point penalty for that win and really ought to beat these rivals.
