South Africa Racing – No stopping dominant Domeyer

Bettors should look no further than Aldo Domeyer when plotting their path to a profit come the eight-race card at Kenilworth on Wednesday 30 April, as his six rides across the meeting all have solid form credentials and are capable of winning each of the contests that they line up in.

Echo Of Life should be in the firing line when the photo is taken to the finish of Race 1 over 1400m. Candice Bass-Robinson must hold her charge in high esteem as she debuted the two-year-old Master Of My Fate filly in a minor feature. That experiment may not have paid off but that experience obviously did Echo Of Life plenty good as she returned for her second start to finish a staying-on third behind an exciting youngster over 1250m at Durbanville when last seen.

Re-opposing rivals Che Vincera, who was on debut, and the more-experienced Lucy The Pink finished in arrears of Domeyer’s mount who need only build on the improvement she showed last time to open her account at the third attempt.

Justin Snaith’s Open Secret appears another leading light and it should pay to including these two runners in Swinger and Exacta/Quinella bets in order to get off to a profitable start.

It should also be third time lucky for another of the stallion’s progeny in Race 3 over 1200m, as Dean Street looks well placed to shed his maiden tag after a second and third from two promising starts to his career.

This Lucinda Woodruff-trained Master Of My Fate gelding raced prominently throughout under a hefty 62,5kg in the Work Riders vs. Jockeys maiden over the course and distance on Cape Derby day at the end of February.

He was only outrun late in the piece on that occasion and, with just 60kg to shoulder this time around, Domeyer’s mount will be on his merry way from the get-go and unlikely to be caught.

Sandwiched between those races, costly-to-follow Charlie Malone should reward his followers with an overdue maiden success after two seconds and a fourth from his three outings. He looked the likely winner approaching the 400m marker of his last start over 1250m at Durbanville but found an exciting newcomer with a big reputation too good. He should make no mistake this time around and, despite a wide No 10 draw, Domeyer should have this Querari colt’s head in front where it matters most.

A return to 1400m in Race 6 will be right up the alley of last-start winner Adios Amigos who is worth a bet on the nose to land the spoils in the day’s main event. He was shrewdly placed in competitive handicaps off higher marks and never really lost his form but capitalized on the relief given to him by the handicapper to win over 1600m at Durbanvile’s country course in late March.

This son of Elusive Fort may have escaped with just a three-point penalty, given the margin of victory may have flattered the runner-up, and it’s unlikely to prevent Bass-Robinson’s charge from following up over his most effective trip.

The Domeyer and Bass-Robinson dominance is unlikely to end there, though, as What A Winter filly Nippy Winter is good value to gain reward for her consistency when she reverts to 1000m in Race 8.
