88 Race Meetings Set for Hong Kong’s 2026/27 Racing Season

The 2026/27 Hong Kong racing season will feature a total of 88 race meetings, with racing taking place at both Sha Tin and Happy Valley from September 2026 through July 2027.

Of the 88 meetings, 49 will be staged at Sha Tin Racecourse, while 39 will take place at Happy Valley Racecourse. The calendar includes a combination of day, twilight and night meetings, providing a full programme of racing throughout the season.

Two of the major highlights on the calendar will once again be the LONGINES Hong Kong International Races (HKIR) and FWD Champions Day, both staged at Sha Tin.

The LONGINES Hong Kong International Races will take place on Sunday, 13 December 2026, forming the 29th race meeting of the season. As one of the biggest dates on Hong Kong’s racing calendar, HKIR traditionally brings together leading horses, jockeys and trainers from Hong Kong and around the world.

Later in the season, FWD Champions Day will be held on Sunday, 25 April 2027, as the 66th race meeting of the 2026/27 campaign. The meeting is another major international showcase at Sha Tin and one of the key fixtures during the second half of the season.

According to the fixture schedule, the season’s 88 meetings are made up of 40 day meetings, seven twilight meetings and 41 night meetings. Sha Tin will host all seven twilight fixtures, in addition to 39 day meetings and three night meetings, while Happy Valley will stage 38 night meetings and one day meeting.
