Selangor racing action

Race 5 No 4 THOUSAND MILE EYE

Jumping well from a wide draw last start, he was steadied to settle towards the rear before unleashing a sustained run in the straight to finish fourth over this track and distance. The stewards have since advised that a review into the running and handling of the gelding will be conducted at a date to be fixed.

With more positive tactics this time, he looks capable of making his presence felt in what appears a below-par Class 4 field.

Race 6 No 5 BANKER’S WARRIOR

He failed to see out the mile in a Three-Year-Old feature last start, where he was also caught wide while racing on the speed, making that run best overlooked. Prior to that, he showed tactical speed to finish a close third over 1300m in Class 3 company.

Highly suited by the drop back in distance, he should be able to take up a prominent position and is expected to give them something to catch.

Race 10 No 9 ALL THE WAY MAE

She has had little luck in both local starts, travelling wide throughout on her local debut before an awkward jump compromised her chances last time out. She may also have found the Class 4 company a touch too strong at this stage of her career, having had just four starts to date.

Ideally weighted under Weight For Age conditions, she should appreciate the drop to Open Maiden company, while the rise in distance also looks in her favour.

Race 13 No 11 IRON RULER

Since causing a major upset five starts ago, he has shown that victory was no fluke, finishing in the Top 4 in each of his four subsequent starts. Despite being hindered by a difficult draw last time out, he still found the line strongly to finish third over 1150m.

The step up in distance looks ideal this week, and he appears well placed to maintain his consistent run of form.
