Race 1 – 9 COOL BLUE

He didn’t handle the All-Weather track well last start, and the jockey reported that he should be better suited on turf, making that run easy to forget. His prior form on turf was solid, including a win at Happy Valley four starts ago.

The return to a more suitable surface could see him improve, and he could prove a value pick if he stays the 1800m trip.

Race 3 – 3 GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY

His unplaced effort last start can be forgiven, as he was caught wide from the 800m and had little chance to make an impact in the straight. Two starts prior, he finished strongly, posting a fast final 400m sectional to claim third – an encouraging performance given the slow tempo of the race.

Resuming off a 105-day break, he has trialled impressively and looks well-placed to feature in the finish first-up, especially with a more favourable run in transit.

RACE 4 – 1 SUPREME MASTERMIND

Unplaced from four starts in Class 3, he may have found the competition too strong. Still, he clocked the second-fastest final 400m to finish eighth, beaten by just 3.75 lengths last time. The drop to Class 4 is a significant positive, and he is likely to improve against a more manageable field.

RACE 8 – 7 INVINCIBLE SAGE

He finished strongly to claim a luckless fifth first-up, despite being held up between the 200m and 100m. With an impressive second-up record—two wins and one placing from four starts—he is ideally weighted to make his presence felt in this week’s feature race.
