Jockey Richard Fourie continues on his path to be crowned South African Champion Jockey and he has some nice rides at Fairview on Friday.
Luna Halo is probably the best of them in Race 4, a Pinnacle Stakes over 1400m on the turf.
The Fire Away filly has performed well with Fourie aboard, winning six of her seven starts under him and she has won twice in her three starts over this course and distance.
Nothing in racing is ever easy and this time around Luna Halo will jump from the widest gate and has 62kg to shoulder.
Fourie also has a very good record when aboard Bournemouth and that gelding should be a big runner in Race 7, the Glenlair Trophy (Non-Black-Type) over 2800m.
Fourie has been the rider on five winning occasions in seven rides and has won all three times when riding him on the turf.
Bournemouth blotted his good staying record when only third behind rival in this race, filly Medlers Tart.
The Master Of My Fate filly was allowed a big break on her field and she kept going to win well.
She was best weighted that day so how they allowed her such a big lead was not a good advertisement for racing.
It is unlikely they will let her get away with those tactics again but she is only 1kg worse off so she has to be respected.
Earlier on the card Global State should win Race 2, and Five Star Magic looks the right one in Race 3.
Global State has been very good in his first two starts without success and is ready to win.
Five Star Magic is improving and has been finishing off her races very nicely and should like the step up in distance to 1400m.
