Race 2 – 12 CASA PRIMO

He was slow to begin last start and struck significant interference between the 400m and 200m. Once clear running became available in the concluding stages, he finished strongly to claim fifth, beaten only 2.25 lengths over this track and distance.

Having improved with each run, he looks well weighted to make his presence felt in what appears a below-par Class 4 field.

Race 4 – 5 DANCING BLAZE

A tough trip dented his winning chances on debut two weeks ago, as he was caught wide on the pace throughout after jumping from a slightly awkward draw. Despite the circumstances, he still battled on gamely to finish fourth over this track and distance.

He should derive benefit from that experience and, with better luck in running, could secure a Top 3 finish second-up.

Race 3 – 7 HAPPY SMILE

His debut effort was encouraging, as he charged home strongly to finish sixth over this track and distance. Had he not been held up between the 350m and 250m, he likely would have finished in the Top 3. With natural improvement expected, he looks one to follow closely second-up.

Race 6 – 6 SUPER GOLDENDRAGON

He caused a major upset over 2200m at Happy Valley two starts ago and followed that up with a close second over 1800m at this track last time out, despite racing wide throughout. As one of the in-form runners in this week’s field, he should prove highly competitive with a kinder run in transit.
