Tom Kitten set to pounce at Randwick

Tom Kitten chases Group 1 glory on Saturday.

Group 1 racing returns to Randwick racecourse, Australia, on Saturday, with the running of the $2 million Spring Champion Stakes over 2000m for three-year-olds.

Progressive Godolphin colt TOM KITTEN is poised to claim the feature event after a series of promising runs this campaign. First-up, TOM KITTEN claimed the G3 Up And Coming Stakes, before going on to finish in the placings on his last three runs.

TOM KITTEN has drawn ideally low for Saturday’s big race, and should gain a conducive run in transit as he rises the 2000m for the first time in his career. He should relish the trip and appears to be the one to beat.

Augment to make an impact

Progressive filly AUGMENT is primed to pick up her first big-race success in Saturday’s $125,000 Listed Belgravia Stakes over 1200m at Ascot racecourse, Australia.

Augment is a filly on the rise.

The Simon Miller-trained talent has shown plenty of ability in four starts by winning two starts and placing third a further two times. AUGMENT was last seen racing second-up in a Ratings 66+ Handicap over 1200m, putting paid to her rivals by a decisive 1.46 lengths.

AUGMENT is well-placed on 54kgs in this week’s race and from barrier 4 she looks hard to hold out late.
