Unspoken to do the talking at Randwick

Unspoken has hit his straps this preparation.

In-form five-year-old gelding UNSPOKEN has been well-backed to secure a hat-trick of wins in the $160,000 Robrick Lodge Filante Handicap (1600m) at Randwick, Australia, on Saturday.

The Peter and Paul Snowden-trained galloper formerly raced in the UK, where he secured three wins from eight starts. Making his Australian debut in March of this year, UNSPOKEN has shown improvement with every race. After a four-month spell, he has put together two consecutive wins since resuming in early September.

UNSPOKEN has garnered significant early market support, making him the favourite, and he appears well placed at the weights with 52kgs. With more potential to tap into, his winning streak looks set to continue.

Ripcord set to unleash at Ascot

Progressive three-year-old RIPCORD is poised to break free from a series of placings and make a comeback for a win in Saturday’s $80,000 Ratings 72+ Handicap over 1200m at Ascot, Australia.

RIPCORD has raced four times since making his race track debut in April, when he claimed the Listed Perth Stakes (1100m) for two-year-olds first-up. Subsequently, he checked in third in the Group 2 Karrakatta Plate (1200m). He then spelled before returning to the races in late September.

Ripcord is poised for a return to the winner’s list.

In two runs back, RIPCORD has turned in strong runs into second place over 1000m. The rise to 1200m third-up is key to his chances and he should be proving hard to hold out.
