Racing fans can look forward to witness some close finishing at the Sungei Besi race track on Sunday, 7 May 2023 with Jockey Pinheiro being assigned to ride 8 races.
Pinheiro, who is currently based in Singapore since mid-April, has to date recorded 2 winners at the Kranji Racecourse.
Prior to this, he was riding at the United Arab Emirates and eventually ranked fifth with 28 winners on the 2022/2023 Jockey’s Premiership in the UAE that just concluded on 7 April 2023. It was his best result in a season in Dubai since he began riding there six years ago.
“I had a very good season in Dubai. The Group 1 win (Emirates Championship) came as a big surprise”, said Pinheiro, who was voted by the public as the Best Local Jockey during His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Horse Racing Excellence Awards at Meydan Racecourse held on 25 March 2023.
In 2022, Pinheiro rode 12 winners at Selangor Turf Club races recording a strike rate of 41%.
