The BOB BAFFERT trained galloper COUNTRY GRAMMER provided star jockey FRANKIE DETTORI with his fourth success in the USD$12m Dubai World Cup at Meydan.
It had been 16 years since DETTORI’S last DWC win and 22 years since his first win aboard the great DUBAI MILLENNIUM in 2000, MOON BALLAD in 2003 and finally ELECTROCUTIONIST in 2006.
It was also a fourth DWC win for controversial American horse trainer BOB BAFFERT, who is banned from competing at Churchill Downs, where the Kentucky Derby is held after he received a two-year ban last June for the win of 2018 Triple Crown winner Justify.
BAFFERT has previously tasted success in the Dubai World Cup with SILVER CHARM 1998, CAPTAIN STEVE 2001 and ARROGATE 2017 respectively.
