The right race for Parisian Walkway

Hollywoodbets Scottsville stages a meeting of small but competitive fields on Sunday, with two runners standing out as strong exotic betting anchors.

The first is Parisian Walkway in the Progressive Plate over 1600m. Trainer Alec Laird brings just two runners from the Highveld, with Parisian Walkway appearing his leading chance. After returning from a lengthy break to finish a close second to Money Heist, he looks well placed to go one better on a track likely to suit his running style. Powerandtheglory, in excellent recent polytrack form, and Captain West, who boasts solid Cape form, rate as the main dangers.

The second banker comes in the Middle Stakes, where Scarlet Macaw drops from Grade 1 company after contesting the Ridgemont Garden Province Stakes. Despite top weight, the Candice Bass-trained mare sets the standard. Stablemate Lilac In Winter, a dual course-and-distance winner, is a leading threat, while La Landonne is expected to improve back on turf after two disappointing polytrack runs. Limitless Sky is another to consider after an encouraging latest effort.

The opening maiden looks ideal for Scott’s Bar, who has faced strong opposition in his first two starts. Tipperary, Praetorian Guard and debutant Elusive Diamond are among the dangers.

Race 2 features several newcomers, but Rocco’s Peace has the strongest exposed form. Majestic Limpopo has improved in blinkers, while well-bred debutante Belle Gallico warrants respect.

The Pick 6 begins with a competitive handicap where Hop Hop Spinnekop, Gold Gold Baby, Taylor’s Version and Princess Trippi all hold winning claims.

Later on, Judiciary looks capable of building on an encouraging debut, while Jazz Festival is tipped to end a long winless run after dropping in class.

The finale is another open handicap headed by Arverni Princess, who has won four of her last five starts over her favourite course and distance. Clair De Lune, Durban Diamond and Scarlet Starlet complete a competitive finish.
