Race 2 No.1 GENRICH
GENRICH remains in Class 5 but rises to the top of the weights after two successive victories. He could not have been more impressive at Ipoh last start, rolling forward and stretching clear by 5.25 lengths over 1000 metres. His early speed is a major asset, and despite the higher rating, he looks capable of completing the hat-trick.
Race 3 No.3 HE MAN
HE MAN drops into an easier assignment after an encouraging Malaysian debut in Class 3 company. The HY Cheng-trained gelding travelled close to the speed and finished a solid second over 1150 metres, beaten just over two lengths by Banker’s Baby. With that local experience now behind him, he should be better suited and looks ready to break through.
Race 6 No.1 BANKER’S AMAZING
BANKER’S AMAZING returns to Ipoh, where he has produced his strongest form this season. He was a dominant 5.5-length winner over 1400 metres at the track in March before placing over 1600 metres and finishing runner-up there last month. Back at his preferred venue, he looks capable of improving on his latest Kuala Lumpur effort
Race 8 No.2 RHETT BUTLER
RHETT BUTLER was simply too bad to be true last start when finishing a distant last at Ipoh. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities, so that effort is best forgiven. His two previous runs resulted in convincing Class 5B victories over 1200 and 1400 metres, and after being freshened, he can bounce back strongly.
