Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(11) WHIZ POINT has been a beaten favourite in each of his two runs to date, but he has been placed on each occasion and that form is the best on offer in this race by a long way so he really should be breaking through. (5) NEUNGRYEOK DORYEONG is a Shim Seung-tae prepared Nitrous gelding on debut that has trialled once for a three-length third when prominent throughout on April 16. (6) LEGEND MATCH has been just behind the placegetters in all four of his runs and made-up ground from last most recently on April 19 and in doing so ran past the reopposing (2) ONNURI BIT who incidentally rates next over (3) NASCA BULCHUNGGAEK and (4) PRIME STAR.

Seoul Race 2: Class 6 (1700M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

(9) BLACK MAMA went within a nose of breaking her maiden last start after finishing just behind the placegetters in her previous couple of runs. She is one of five horses in the race that will be in unknown territory inside the last couple of furlongs but if she stays, she can win. (11) SEMYEONG PEAK has been consistent in seven runs and has not been too far behind a couple of good winners so she must be a chance, but she is also up big in trip. (6) BLACK SUN came from last to run fourth over this distance last start so she will stay and will go close too. (4) SPICE BAND should be around the mark once more with (10) SMART MINK and (2) NURI EUTTEUM next best.

(4) CHEONGONGUI SEOM has been placed in two runs this time in over the course, distance, and grade with the winners of those two races going on to subsequently win again and finish a narrow second respectively. He will go close once more and can take first prize this time. (8) TIGER BULPAE has been consistent without winning but she could very well break her duck this time even though she has three-and-a-quarter lengths to find with Cheongongui Seom from March 14. (11) RAON THE CLARA won an incident packed maiden by a wide margin in February before finishing a narrow third on her first run at this level as an odds-on chance. She could go a couple of places better whilst (2) SEVEN KAISER is another who has not been far away and rounds off the key four chances with (1) MY WAY BOSS and (10) JEONGSEONG FACTOR rating next.

Selections

(4) Cheongongui Seom (8) Tiger Bulpae (11) Raon The Clara (2) Seven Kaiser

Seoul Race 4: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(6) JEONGSANG HERA has chased home Di Ne and subsequent Derby winner Hwang Geum Eo Jang at her last two starts and she ran the latter to a neck when they met on December 6 so that is naturally outstanding form. She was best of the rest behind another top liner in Roshe at the trials on April 30 and should get every chance to win first-up. (10) NAOL AURORA looked good when leading throughout to win her maiden by six-lengths last start and must come in with a decent chance. (11) GOLDEN DIVA is a last start course, distance, and grade winner and whilst going up five pounds and three kilograms for that neck victory she is a hope of repeating. (8) CALL ME SKY has been a beaten odds-on chance at her last two but if you fancy her to win this time you will get better odds. (7) STEEPLE and (3) MIGHTY SHINE rate next, the former had the latter back in third way back on August 23 in a race Jeongsang Hera was second in and the subsequent Oaks winner Catch Race was fourth in.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(5) TAEGISAN KING gets a four-kilogram claim which should take him a long way to getting the prize especially going on his second place to Hwang Geum Eo Jang back in the middle of winter. (9) ROAD TO HEAT had good form prior to last start when bombing right out when going up to 1700M. He comes back in trip to what should be a more suitable distance so he can be given another chance, but he must put last start well and truly behind him. (10) STUNNING SERVE has not been too far away and could be an each-way chance at value whilst (2) MASTER PLAN was ahead of Taegisan King last start but is worse in at the weights to confirm the form. He did however finish second to Gwanaksan Sky prior which is good form. (1) DDATTEUTHAN WIRO and (4) STORM TROOPER rate next.

(5) Taegisan King (9) Road To Heat (10) Stunning Serve (2) Master Plan

(2) RAON FINALLE won up to two races in a row after three minor placings to begin her career before being sent down to Busan for a crack at the Luna Stakes (Korean 1000 Guineas) where she finished eleventh beaten ten-and-a-quarter lengths. She was not far away in the scheme of things and returning to easier company she can return to winning ways. (7) RED DRAGON has been a narrow second in each of her last two and despite coming up to Class 4 grade for the first time she is a chance of going one better. (10) ECLIPSE THE QUEEN has won each of her last two, including over Red Dragon two back, however she comes up big in weight despite the grade rise, but she could potentially still be good enough. (11) KYLIE made up ground from well back last time and rates next over (6) MIGHTY LOVE and (3) SEONGSIL DAERO.

Selections

(2) Raon Finalle (7) Red Dragon (10) Eclipse The Queen (11) Kylie

Seoul Race 7: Class 2 (1600M) Handicap / KRW 90 Million

(3) ROSHE has looked like a star in the making to date with four wins from four starts and his best yet came last start with a devastating twelve-length victory in the LR Sports Seoul Trophy for three-year-olds. He looks to have lost no ability whatsoever going on his nine-length trial victory on April 30 and it will be a huge shock if he fails to make it a quintet of victories from as many runs before no doubt having bigger fish to fry as we get further into the year. (7) NEW DOLKONG resumes since finishing at the rear in last year’s Grand Prix, the big target for Roshe at the end of this season, and despite being beaten such a long way would have some sort of each-way chance in this going on his prior form. He was fourth in a trial at the end of last month. (2) RAON SILENCE is looking for a trio of consecutive wins from Class 4 to Class 3 to now a Class 2. It is a big ask but she has been impressive with her two most recent victories by five and three-lengths, respectively. (1) CHAN FAMOUS came from well back to be fourth last start and on that basis could reverse form with (9) MY EMPIRE who has been a big disappointment at his last two and has a lazy twenty-one-and-a-half lengths to find with Roshe from the Sports Seoul Trophy. However, his best is good enough, but he needs to get back to the form he was in across the autumn and winter. (8) JEONGSANG ACE rates next.

Selections

(3) Roshe (7) New Dolkong (2) Raon Silence (1) Chan Famous

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1700M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

(10) SAINT RUNNER is worth an each-way investment at value as he receives a two-kilogram claim from top apprentice Woo In-cheol which brings his weight down to fifty-two kilograms. He should be doing his best work late and this is also perhaps a slightly easier Class 4 race compared to his last couple of runs. (8) DAEHAN POWER has visually finished like Pegasus to win his last two starts but the fact of the matter is he has very much made the most of the leaders going too fast too soon and coming over the top late when the front-runners have walked up the home straight. However, that does not mean that his pair of wins have not been good, and he is a chance of going from Class 6 (maiden) to Class 5 and now to Class 4 and winning again. (6) WIN CATCHER will need to come on from his first-up run however he should do so, but he is naught from eleven attempts. (2) SEJONG POWER is up huge in trip but will find this opposition easier than last start. (3) RAON THE BELMONT has a feather weight and is not to be discounted at her first run at the grade whilst (5) SEOUL DOLPUNG would be far from the worst if he could dictate terms out in front. (11) BLOOD MOUNTAIN and (7) BREEDO TROPHY are previous winners over the trip.

Selections

(10) Saint Runner (8) Daehan Power (6) Win Catcher (2) Sejong Power

Seoul Race 9: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(4) CHRYSOL STONE was out the back last time when stepping up big in grade in a rough running of the LR Dong-a Ilbo Trophy in March against her own sex. She had done most things right before then however, including a victory over subsequent Derby fourth placegetter King Master, and she can continue her progression here as she does have the ability to go higher than races such as this one. (9) SONGDANG HWANGTAEJA was a two-and-a-half length course and distance winner when running at this grade for the first time on March 28 before a fifth when carrying an extra three kilograms on April 26. He comes down in weight slightly from that run and can be around the mark once more. (2) DRAGON SQUARE has been out the back of late, but his best would have him somewhere in the finish. (6) GEUMBIT CHEONHA gets a three-kilogram apprentice claim so is not to be ruled out for exotic players and neither are (8) THE SUN FIGHTER, (7) SUMMER PARTY or (10) NURI CHEONWANG.

Selections

(4) Chrysol Stone (9) Songdang Hwangtaeja (2) Dragon Square (6) Geumbit Cheonha

(4) ROOPTOP is a smart type on his day and was a course, distance, and grade winner in March before being unable to work into the race under the same conditions a fortnight ago. He can be forgiven for that, but he was up two-and-a-half kilograms for that below par run compared to the victory at his previous start and he carries the same weight as last time in this. (7) RAON THE AFFIRMED was an impressive front-running eleven-length course and distance winner before coming up one level to this grade on April 12 and running a half-length second once again over this distance. She gets the apprentice claim of Woo In-cheol and is a big chance. (2) MOVING VOLCANO was also having his first Class 3 run in that race after back-to-back Class 4 victories and has one-and-three-quarter lengths to find with Raon The Affirmed. (8) RUN WILD is best of the rest over (6) ENDING FIRE and (9) BONGHWA STAY.
