Race 6 – 11 PI LEGEND

He has been far from disgraced in both local starts, jumping cleanly to settle on the speed from wide draws on each occasion before the early work took its toll late, weakening inside the final 150m to finish fifth and eighth over 1200m at Sha Tin.

The drop to 1000m looks more suitable, and with a smoother run in transit, he should be right in the mix.

Race 7 – 4 POWER KOEPP

A wide draw blunted his winning chances last start, forcing him to race wide without cover throughout. As a result, he ran out of condition inside the final 200m, beaten three lengths into seventh over this track and distance.

Having slid down the ratings, he looks well placed in this week’s field and could surprise at value with better luck in running.

Race 5 – 1 AESTHETICISM

Despite failing to place in recent Class 3 runs, he has still clocked fast final 400m sectionals and was not beaten far on either occasion. The drop back to Class 4 — a grade in which he boasts a strong record — is a major plus, making him one to watch this week.

Race 8 – 3 INVINCIBLE SAGE

He showed marked improvement in a Group 3 feature at Sha Tin last start, finishing strongly late to claim third over 1000m. Making his Happy Valley debut this week, he should prove highly competitive against a more manageable field, and a win would not surprise.
