Seoul Race 1: Class 6 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

Three-year-old maidens with four of the nine racing for the first time and with the exposed form not being impressive, two first timer starters will top the market. (7) CONCORD BLUE was a front-running trial winner, stopping the clock in a quick time. If he brings that form to the races, he will win. (1) SEOUL BIHAENG posted an even quicker time the same day, albeit well back in 6th place. Nevertheless, he showed enough to suggest he has some ability and should be the main danger. (8) MR. KAI didn’t do much on debut but has since won a trial and should improve here. (5) GEUMA ON POINT and (9) BEOLGYO EMPEROR the others with experience who are perhaps the most likely to improve.

Seoul Race 2: Class 4 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 75 Million

Three-year-old imported maidens with six of the ten racing for the first time. (3) PARISUI BULKKOT didn’t manage to qualify last July but caught the eye when tried again in November, winning his heat in a quick time, leading all the way, and with a couple of today’s rivals behind him. If he runs like that here, he can win. One of these behind him that day was (8) TAEKWON V. He trialed once more after that and then debuted on December 21st, running fairly for 5th of twelve over 1200M. He should have come on for that and is the danger. (7) MUCHO MACHO RAPIDO was a touch below expectations on debut having previously won a trial but is worth another chance here. (10) BREEDO CHAMPION and (4) WHIZ STAR are other newcomers who can make an immediate impact.

Seoul Race 3: Class 6 (1400M) Special Weight A / KRW 30 Million

Competitive maiden. (1) GOLD SPINNING was a much-improved 2nd at his latest over this distance on December 14th when on pace throughout.  On pace seems to be the way to go for him, Johan stays on, and the pair can go one better today. (4) FIVE STAR was 3rd in that December 14th race, having come from well off the pace. That was his first try at this distance and it seemed to suit, and he can be finishing strongly again. (3) PNS GONGJA returned from five months out to run 3rd at 1200M on December 13th. He should have come on for that run and can be in the finish here. (6) SANGIM YEONGUNG has a 2nd, 3rd and a 4th from three outings to date and with an apprentice claiming 4kg, will sure be in the mix. (10) BEOLGYO ALADDIN another to look out for.

Selections

(2) POWERFUL IMPACT beat four of today’s rivals on his way to an improved 2nd when stepped up to this trip for the first time on December 7th, settling just behind the speed and only going down narrowly. Asano stays up and if he has held his form, he can go one better today. (11) GLORY JOY 3rd in that December race having been sent off as second in the market. He races best on the front and while he has the challenge of the widest gate, if he can find a position early, he is a chance. (3) WILD MAGIC has two 3rd places among three starts so far and she can maintain the positive start to her career here. (9) FIGHTER and (5) BLUE DRAGON others in the placing frame.

Seoul Race 5: Class 5 (1200M) Special Weight A / KRW 45 Million

Fillies only in this maiden. (7) RAON THE TONY was a solid 3rd on debut over 1200M on December 7th, showing close to the pace throughout. Expect similar tactics here and she won’t need to improve very much in order to win this. (3) WONDERFUL TUNE UP enters off back-to-back 4th place finishes in similar filly maidens at 1300M and 1400M. From a good gate, she can be on pace and looking to improve. (6) BANK LINE has two 5th places and a 4th from three outings to date and looks to be on the right trajectory. She is another who should be seeking to get forward early and who can be in this a long way. (9) HAPPY TOGETHER and (8) ENERGY POWER others in the hunt.

Seoul Race 6: Class 5 (1300M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

(10) ROYAL SOCKS is a winner of two from five, including at this class and distance two starts back in September. Most recently he was 3rd, again at 1300M, on November 29th, when settling behind the speed and running on. An apprentice takes 4kg off his back today and he can win. (9) HAKSAN SWORD is up in class having scored his maiden win in a quick time over this distance on December 13th. He comes down in weight and can measure up in this company. (7) SEOBU SKY had an ordinary day at the office last time but in this field, he can get forward to the speed and may make for some each-way interest. (6) GIDAEHARA and (4) J ONE POWER are others to consider.

Seoul Race 7: Class 5 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 45 Million

It took (5) CONCORD CODIE a couple of goes to figure things out, but he comes in here off back-to-back wins, the first an emphatic nine-length score over 1200M and then a solid effort in a tight finish on his first try at this class and distance on December 6th. He comes up 3.5kg in weight but can complete his hat-trick here. (10) VALID YOUNG came from off the pace to win on debut over 1200M on December 7th. He comes up in class and in distance today, but neither should be an issue and down in weight, he can be a threat. (4) MUJEOK HAMDAE is also up in class following a maiden win. In his case, it came at start five over 1300M and his running style also suggests that slightly further can suit. (1) HAKSAN DAESE and (11) POETIC NUBI other place chances.

Seoul Race 8: Class 4 (1400M) Handicap / KRW 60 Million

Arguably the race of the weekend. After running 3rd on debut, (3) DI NE finished a creditable 6th of thirteen in Listed juvenile company in September and then registered back-to-back emphatic wins at 1200M and 1300M to get rapidly promoted to this class. He comes up to 1400M for the first time, and he doesn’t get a weight break, but he is well drawn to lead, and the manner of those wins suggests there is more to come. The horse Di Ne finishes 2nd to on debut was (2) TAEYANGUI JEONSA. That was his debut and he then finished behind Di Ne in that same Listed Juvenile race before putting together two wins of his own at 1300M and 1200M. The latter was at this class on December 7th and while up 3kg in weight, he is a big danger. (8) PERFECT DANAEUN has won his last four, most recently beating three of today’s rivals at this class and distance on December 6th. He is up 3kg in weight but has won under the same weight before and shouldn’t be ruled out. (11) SAENAE KHAN and (4) WHIZ WIN among plenty of others who know where the winning post is.

Selections

(3) Di Ne (2) Taeyangui Jeonsa (8) Perfect Danaeun (11) Saenae Khan

(2) BEOLGYO DESTINO had been working towards a second win, and it duly arrived on December 14th with a front-running effort when tackling this distance for the first time. He is up in class here, but he is down in weight, he draws nicely to lead again, and he can go back-to-back. (5) STING JET has run 4th in each of his last three, most recently at this class and distance at the end of September when he led. He comes in fresh and from a better gate, he can get closer today. (3) CHEONGSAN JILJU has places at this class as recently as November. An apprentice claim keeps his weight nice and low, and he can be in the finish. (7) SUMMER PARTY and (9) SUPER ECTON others to consider on a place line.

Seoul Race 10: Class 3 (1800M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

Since returning from six months off at the end of August, (8) BRAVAZO EMPIRE has been getting closer to another win, with two 4th places and a 3rd from three starts back, most recently his first try at 1800M on November 30th when he beat two of today’s rivals. He should have benefited from that experience and he can win today. The danger is (10) BLUE NELLO. He has a won and two placings at this trip already and was 2nd at class and distance on December 14th. He comes up slightly in weight, but he won’t be far away. (2) SEGWANG FIGHTER and (1) DRAGON GATE ran 6th and 7th behind Bravazo Empire on November 30th but both come into better gates today and can be closer. (5) ULTRA THUNDER an each-way chance.

Selections

(8) Bravazo Empire (10) Blue Nello (2) Segwang Fighter (1) Dragon Gate

Seoul Race 11: Class 3 (1200M) Handicap / KRW 75 Million

(5) WONPYEONG SKET ran 2nd in three Listed Juvenile races last autumn before rounding out the year with victory at class 4 level over this distance when leading and holding on having drawn the widest gate. She is up in class but down in weight and from a good draw she can lead again and should have enough about her to hold off this lot. (1) WE GO HIGH was an all the way winner over this distance on November 29th. He is up in class today but is a winner of four from seven and can be a danger. (4) ORION ALPHA and (2) EXCELLENT TAN were 2nd and 3rd at this class and distance on December 7th. They are both drawn better today and should be in the finish. (3) GEUMSE another place chance.
