It is still Polytrack racing this Friday at Fairview and it does look a difficult card but there are three runners that might be worth looking at.
The first of them is Amanatto in Race 2, a Maiden Plate over 1400m.
This well-bred filly has been a disappointment in that she has yet to win a race after 13 starts. She has been consistent since blinkers were applied and it may be worth noting that current rider Richard Fourie has only had three rides aboard her. As usual with an Alan Greeff-trained runner, Fourie has got the best out of her, a fifth place in his first ride followed by two third-placed runs in her next two starts under him.
The Danon Platina filly is well drawn and should get the run of the race.
Stable companion Bournemouth takes on eight other runners in Race 3, a Pinnacle Stakes over 2200m, and he should run another decent race.
This Canford Cliffs gelding has been off form of late and has been kept on the turf all year. A return to the Polytrack should see him in a better light as he has done well on this surface.
He has two wins, a second and two third-placed finishes on this surface.
His record over this actual course and distance is a win and a third-place finish.
He does have in-form Algoa Cup winner Zatara Magic to beat but he has defeated that rival on at least three occasions so do not be surprised to see Bournemouth right there at the finish again.
Four-year-old filly Blowin In The Wind could run well in Race 8, a MR 68 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1000m.
As usual at this track, the last race is usually very competitive, but this Querari filly makes her local debut and was not beaten far in her recent KwaZulu-Natal races. The drop to 1000m should bring out the best in her as will jockey Wayne Agrella.
