Race 8 – 7 ROMANTIC SON
Jumping from a wide draw last start, he was eased early to settle off the speed before things went awry in the straight. Over the final 250m, he was badly held up and couldn’t find clear galloping room, resulting in a luckless tenth-place finish over this track and distance.
That said, he was only beaten 3.5 lengths, and with a smoother run this time, he looks well rated to make amends.
Race 10 – 3 KEEN MOLLY
He produced an improved effort last time out, travelling just off the speed and sticking on gamely to finish second over this track and distance. The strong tempo on that occasion made his anti-race-shape performance all the more creditable.
Now three runs into his Hong Kong campaign, he appears to be acclimating well and shapes as a strong contender this time.
Sectional Stars
Race 4 – 1 HEALTHY HEALTHY
In his last two outings, he may have found the Class 3 company at Sha Tin a touch too strong, though he still managed to finish fourth and fifth over 1200m. Back to Happy Valley and dropping to Class 4, he meets a weaker field and looks poised to show sharp improvement.
Race 5 – 4 ARGENTO OCEAN
Despite covering ground throughout last start, he found the line strongly to finish a creditable fourth over this track and distance, clocking a sharp final 400m sectional. In a field lacking depth this week, he looks well placed to break through at his fifth time of asking.
