Race Preview

RACE 1: LANDE BRUYERE HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 1) – 1200M – TIME: 18:25 PRIZE MONEY: EUR21000

Summary: BAKHILOVA (1) was an authoritative winner of a similar course-and-distance handicap last month and she needs only to repeat that performance to reconnect with success. LOLLIPOP STAR (6), FIRST ONE (9) and FORTUNATE SON (2) finished 6th, 7th and 9th respectively in that reference race on 8 October and should pose more of a threat on theserevised weight terms. RECREATE (13) and QUITE RIGHT TOO (4) have place chances.

SELECTIONS
BAKHILOVA (1) – LOLLIPOP STAR (6) – FIRST ONE (9) – FORTUNATE SON (2)

RACE 2: DES SABLONNETS STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM NANTES RACE 1) – 1600M – TIME: 18:42 PRIZE MONEY: EUR27000

Summary: OUT OF AFRICA (1) has been in good form recently, she won at Craon in a Class 2 race in September and then had two solid efforts in Class 2 races at Angers when second on each of them. She can score from LYUBOVKA (6) who won on her debut at Haras-Du-Pin and will have learned plenty from that. RAWIYA (5) fluffed her lines last time but can be forgiven and is sure to be thereabouts. EAGLE GATE (4) is also worth considering.

SELECTIONS
DOUT OF AFRICA (1) – LYUBOVKA (6) – RAWIYA (5) – EAGLE GATE (4)

RACE 3: DE VICHY HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 2) – 1200M – TIME: 19:00 PRIZE MONEY: EUR23000

Summary: DOCTEUR SAFI (6) is experienced and competitive off her current mark so is a legitimate candidate for race honours. However, so too is last-start scorer MARY JAYNE (7), despite a 2,5kg penalty for her recent victory at Chantilly. DYONISOS (3) finished a commendable 3rd in his only handicap appearance so isn’t without a chance either. POSAFOLIE (5) and HIDE THE EVIDENCE (2) appeal most of the remainder.

SELECTIONS
DOCTEUR SAFI (6) – MARY JAYNE (7) – DYONISOS (3) – POSAFOLIE (5)

RACE 4: DE LA SENSIVE STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM NANTES RACE 2) – 2400M – TIME: 19:17 PRIZE MONEY: EUR27500

Summary: KID ALONE (2) is improving with experience and was a facile winner at Les Sables last time by eight lengths in mid-October. He gets the vote ahead of JAKARTA DE FROM (1) who is a threat and has been racing in strong events of late. She was a good 4th in a Group 3 AQ race three starts ago at Vichy in July. JANLY (3) looks like the each way option after a win two runs back at Chateaubriant in August. KATE TO WIN (4) is also worth a mention.

SELECTIONS
KID ALONE (2) – JAKARTA DE FROM (1) – JANLY (3) – KATE TO WIN (4)

RACE 5: DE LA PORTE NADON STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 3) – 2000M – TIME: 19:35 PRIZE MONEY: EUR28000

Summary: O’WOOD (3) has only once finished worse than 3rd in 8 starts. He is a genuine candidate for success, even if his only failure was at this venue. SABROSO (1) has the means to fight for victory on his reappearance and shouldn’t be underestimated. ACOTANGO (4), who is open to improvement stretching out to this distance for the first time, and MAKE A WISH (10), after her reassuring 3rd last time out, complete the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
O’WOOD (3) – SABROSO (1) – ACOTANGO (4) – MAKE A WISH (10)

RACE 6: DU CHATEAU DES DUCS DE BRETAGNE HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM NANTES RACE 3) – 2400M – TIME: 19:52 PRIZE MONEY: EUR17000

Summary: Course and distance winner LOLA BERE (4) can follow up after her success in a Class 3 race at the start of this month. Her main threat could be DYLAN’S SPIRIT (3) who won three starts ago and was a pleasing third at Argentan in early October on her latest run. MERI LILOU (1) looks like the each way option. CARNIVAL QUEEN (7) ran well when fourth last time and looks best of the remainder.

SELECTIONS
LOLA BERE (4) – DYLAN’S SPIRIT (3) – MERI LILOU (1) – CARNIVAL QUEEN (7)

RACE 7: JOUR DE GALOP MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 4) – 1600M – TIME: 20:10 PRIZE MONEY: EUR20000

Summary: Well-bred MR BRIGHTSIDE (2) is bred to excel on rain-affected ground. He is unexposed and remains open to improvement so gets the nod ahead of experienced rival RASTRELLARE (3) who boasts sound references in handicaps and will be competitive back in a maiden. LE ROI LEON (5) ran with promise on debut and will make his presence felt if building on the encouragement of that ParisLongchamp introduction. ROULETTE (7) and MON COMEDIEN (8) aren’t without a prayer and have podium prospects.

SELECTIONS
MR BRIGHTSIDE (2) – RASTRELLARE (3) – LE ROI LEON (5) – ROULETTE (7)

RACE 8: DE LA SEINE ET MARNE HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 5) – 2000M – TIME: 20:55 PRIZE MONEY: EUR53000

Summary: ALEMANIA (9) won in good style and seems to be quite a progressive sort that could win her fair share of races. This looks to be an ideal starting point and she will go well. OURO PRETO (7) ran a cracker straight out the maidens and looks to have more to offer. GANASS (16) slots in with a nice galloping weight and should be on the premises. Winning seems to come at a premium but he can be competitive. PINGO (12) was unlucky to not get her head in front last time out but with a repeat performance, she should challenge.

SELECTIONS
ALEMANIA (9) – OURO PRETO (7) – GANASS (16) – PINGO (12)

RACE 9: DENISY LISTED STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 6) – 3000M – TIME: 21:30 PRIZE MONEY: EUR52000

Summary: MISTER GATZ (6) arrives in solid form and has been tested at this level. He runs as if he will enjoy the extra yardage and rates the one to beat. BEL ET BIEN (2) has been super consistent and added another win to his CV when winning a good race over this trip last time out. He has the right form and should be a big player. OXFORD COMMA (8) comes over from the UK and represents the bang in form yard of RM. Beckett. She stays well and will provide a huge challenge for the French horses. CORNELIENNE (9) takes a significant step up in trip but if she stays then he can run a solid race.

SELECTIONS
MISTER GATZ (6) – BEL ET BIEN (2) – OXFORD COMMA (8) – CORNELIENNE (9)

RACE 10: DES CEDRES HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 7) – 3000M – TIME: 22:05 PRIZE MONEY: EUR14000

Summary: MONTE CINTO (1) showed up well last time out and a repeat of that effort will see him running a positive race. He drops in class which is a huge plus. GOLD PALACE (2) just found one too good last time out and with Maxime Guyon in the irons, he could well go one better. SING (4) steps into a handicap which could see him thrive and he isn’t one to take lightly. ROCKMAR (3) has seemed to relish these stamina tests and should be a factor.

SELECTIONS
MONTE CINTO (1) – GOLD PALACE (2) – SING (4) – ROCKMAR (3)

RACE 11: DES ACACIAS HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM FONTAINEBLEAU RACE 8) – 3000M – TIME: 22:40 PRIZE MONEY: EUR18000

Summary: NIGHTDANCE MAN (7) has been knocking on the door for that next win and looks ready to strike after just missing out at his last two starts. SAINT LANGIS (8) finished just behind the top pick last time out and given that they meet at the same weight terms, there shouldn’t be much in it once again. JOLIEPIERRE (11) needs to be forgiven for a rather indifferent effort last time out and on her prior form, she can have a say in the outcome. YORK TOWN (1) beat the top two choices and at the weights, will need to pull out more to confirm the form.

SELECTIONS
NIGHTDANCE MAN (7) – SAINT LANGIS (8) – JOLIEPIERRE (11) – YORK TOWN (1)
