FIRE ALARM showed improvement last time out on the turf and can fight out the finish once again. GENTEEL showed vast improvement on local debut and can go one better this time around. NOODSBERG has not shown much in two starts but makes the trip from the Western Cape and deserves respect for that. TO BE FREE makes a local debut and could show vast improvement. CACUA SPIRIT tries Blinkers and could improve.

Race Summary: OFFICIAL SECRET has improved since joining trainer Alan Greeff and has won a couple of times over this course and distance. She was touched off last time out and can go one better. MEDLERS TART can be a dangerous customer if allowed to dictate terms and returns to the Eastern Cape. WOMAN’S WORLD won full of running earlier this month and will not go down without a serious fight for top honours. GIDEON’S DAUGHTER, CICADIDAE and LADY WRITER have all improved this year but are facing some hard-knocking rivals this time.

Race Summary: Some promising sprinters go to the post for this. HAPPY HOLLY is very game and very speedy and should fight out the finish yet again. BLUE HOLLY chased home Cruise Control earlier this season and should make a bold bid at beating these rivals if repeating that level of form. MYTHICAL DREAM is in good form and can contest the finish. SYMBOL OF LOVE has some good recent wins but this will test her. ELLORIX has improved of late and could make the frame. ISN’T SHE BONNY is back on the turf and could be the surprise package of the race.

Race Summary: A competitive start to the Pick 6 and we should get a close finish. MR MOLONY won on local debut. That was on the Polytrack but he may well follow up. JACK IN THE GREEN has improved with blinkers but has a wide draw for jockey Richard Fourie to overcome. LAUNCH CODE is unreliable but is also quite capable of scoring. NOTHINGELSEMATTERS has been costly to follow but could also get involved with the finish. MILITARY MAN has improved of late and deserves respect. LADY ZULTANITE has a good record with Sandile Khathi in the irons and is another to include in all bets.

Race Summary: GLOBAL STATE has lost his way of late but is fit and could surprise in a race like this. PEDRO is in good form and can contest the finish yet again. ABOUND returned to his best with a good win last time out and can follow up if in the same mood. MY BESTIE has not won for some time now but is capable of doing so over this track and distance. HOLOCENE and stable companion TRAVEL MASTER have recent wins on the Polytrack but both deserve respect. TO THE HILT, WILLIAM THE FIRST and GOLDEN PAVILION are also capable of getting involved with the finish.

Race Summary: LUNA HALO has been effective over this course and distance. She also has a very good record with jockey Richard Fourie in the irons. Her last run was very good, finishing runner-up behind King Regent in the second leg of the Polytrack Challenge. GIMME’S LASSIE broke a long losing streak last time but is not an easy ride. RED SASH has struck form with two nice wins and will not go down without a fight. LADY SILVANO is returning from a long break but her trainer would not have made the trip if she was not able to win. CONCERTO has a place chance.

Race Summary: A very interesting race. MY BEST SHOT finishes off his races very nicely over shorter distances so could be even better this distance and gets the vote to score. Trainer Justin Snaith knows what is needed to win this race so his runner WE HAVE TOUCHDOWN will be a danger. He was a disappointment last time out, however. Trainer Glen Kotzen has been lethal of late and he is double handed with THE MASK and ON MY HONOUR. ON MY HONOUR was particularly impressive last time out. PLAY ACT ran well behind rival MY BEST SHOT last time out so is another to consider.

Race Summary: The highlight of the Eastern Cape, the Betway Algoa Cup should be a very competitive affair. Snaith racing are double handed with ROCKPOOL and CALL TO UNITE. ROCKPOOL has been disappointing of late but can win. Preference is for CALL TO UNITE, who is hat-trick seeking after some good recent wins. JOY AND PEACE heads the local challenge and has been in good form all year so is clearly not out of it. STREET ART was not disgraced on local debut and could do better this distance. Trainer Glen Kotzen has four entrants and all of them are serious contenders. HOLDING THUMBS may just be a bit better than BLACKBERRY MALT and CHOLLIMA. GREEN MANDARIN could be a threat. ALLEZ MORIS was not beaten far last time out and is well drawn.

FAIRY KNIGHT will like the likely fast pace from CRUISE CONTROL and could be a lively danger late in the race. CLIFF TOP and EVIES FIRST have been soundly beaten by CRUISE CONTROL of late but could earn some money. GIMME’S LADDIE has won his last three starts and deserves respect for this. QUESTOR makes his first run for the year. He won three in a row last year and is a class sprinter but may need this run.
