France Form Sheet – 20 October
Race Preview
RACE 1: DE BELLEVILLE (TURF TRACK) (FROM PARISLONGCHAMP RACE 1) – 1800M – TIME: 19:23 PRIZE MONEY: EUR50000
Summary: AZIMPOUR (2) hails from a good Aga Khan dam line and is worth siding with in this
newcomers’ race. He gets the nod ahead of Godolphin’s well-bred Camelot colt NUBUCK (4),
whose pedigree suggests he’ll have no issues coping with soft/heavy ground. BATAL YOUMZAIN
(1) and ZARAKCHIC (5) are others with attractive pedigrees so shouldn’t be underestimated.
SELECTIONS
AZIMPOUR (2) – NUBUCK (4) – BATAL YOUMZAIN (1) – ZARAKCHIC (5)
RACE 2: DE LA CHAPELLE (TURF TRACK) (FROM PARISLONGCHAMP RACE 2) – 1800M – TIME: 19:58 PRIZE MONEY: EUR50000
Summary: As a daughter of Belardo, whose progeny have proven to be effective on rainsoftened ground, ASHIKIDAH (1) is the one to side with in this newcomers’ event. Well-bred
WEDDING MOOD (3) will have many supporters too, as will Fabrice Chappet’s runner SAFIA (9),
given her trainer’s skills with young horses. FAITHFUL FRIEND (6) is;t taken lightly and could
have a role to play, too.
SELECTIONS
ASHIKIDAH (1) – WEDDING MOOD (3) – SAFIA (9) – FAITHFUL FRIEND (6)
RACE 3: CONSEIL PARIS (TURF TRACK) (FROM PARISLONGCHAMP RACE 3) – 2200M – TIME: 20:33 PRIZE MONEY: EUR130000
Summary: High-class performer GOLIATH (1) hasn’t been seen since his scintillating King
George success at Ascot in July but is capable of giving weight and a beating to these rivals on
his reappearance. Sparingly raced MARQUISAT (3) seems best equipped to pose a threat
although ZARAKEM (2), who was far from disgraced in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, also has
the means to stake a claim. HAMISH (4) appeals most of the remainder.
SELECTIONS
GOLIATH (1) – MARQUISAT (3) – ZARAKEM (2) – HAMISH (4)
RACE 4: C. DELAMARRE (TURF TRACK) (FROM PARISLONGCHAMP RACE 5) – 1800M – TIME: 21:50 PRIZE MONEY: EUR52000
Summary: TAREEFA (7) finished an eye-catching 2nd on her reappearance at Ascot earlier this
month and travels to France with legitimate winning aspirations. MOLTEN ROCK (8), 4th in the
Group III Prix Vanteaux on heavy ground at the beginning of the year, has the means to expose
any chinks in the selection’s armour and should fight for victory. SECRETIVE (4) is also
undeniably capable of making her presence felt but isn’t the most reliable. She is competitive for
the places, as is ZUNA (9) after a reassuring last start.
SELECTIONS
TAREEFA (7) – MOLTEN ROCK (8) – SECRETIVE (4) – ZUNA (9)
RACE 5: DE SAINT-CYR (TURF TRACK) (FROM PARISLONGCHAMP RACE 6) – 1400M – TIME: 22:25 PRIZE MONEY: EUR55000
Summary: CETERA (13) has disappointed recently, albeit at a higher level in Group III races, but
deserves another chance and she ought to set the record straight in these calmer waters.
Consistent FAIR POINT (12) will keep her honest and should play another leading role, while
German visitor AYADA (6) shouldn’t be underestimated either in her first start on French soil.
RUN AWAY (3), far from disgraced against male opposition at Saint-CLoud last time, and
TEERAN (5), a winner on very heavy ground earlier this year, appeal most of the remainder.
SELECTIONS
CETERA (13) – FAIR POINT (12) – AYADA (6) – RUN AWAY (3)
