France Form Sheet – 7 October
Race Preview
RACE 1: CHATEAU STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM CHOLET RACE 1) – 1350M – TIME: 17:51 PRIZE MONEY: EUR22000
Summary: ASHIYMA (5) will be fitter for a recent run when she ran well until getting tired at SaintCloud late last month. She beat some smart rivals when she won her maiden as a two-year-old
and can score here. SHADY LADY (8) looks like the main threat. She faired well at Lyon Parilly last
month when she was third in mid-September. KOSLOVKA (6) looks like a good option for the eachway backers to side with. MCTENETT (3) won last time and warrants respect.
SELECTIONS
ASHIYMA (5) – SHADY LADY (8) – KOSLOVKA (6) – MCTENETT (3)
RACE 2: FLORENT BELLAMY MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM CHOLET RACE 2) – 1350M – TIME: 18:23 PRIZE MONEY: EUR16000
Summary: DAVALLIA (8) ran a good race when she was second at Le Mans in mid-September.
She will improve a good deal for that run and is preferred to ALEM (9) who is making his debut. He
is from a good stable and will be nicely tuned for a bold show. RIGOLETTOS (10) is also making
his debut and should know what is required on his debut. POMME SURETTE (6) made a pleasing
debut when she was fourth and can have a presence.
SELECTIONS
DAVALLIA (8) – ALEM (9) – RIGOLETTOS (10) – POMME SURETTE (6)
RACE 3: DU MESNIL MAIDEN STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM CHOLET RACE 3) – 2100M – TIME: 18:55 PRIZE MONEY: EUR17000
Summary: LIKASA (4) has shown plenty of ability on her three runs so far. Her latest effort at
Clairefonatine when fifth in early August and can get off the mark. MAGESTIC MOON (6) will make
the selection work hard for success. She has experience and should be involved. INTELLITA (8)
has been knocking on the door on her last two runs and can make an impact. JUST JIM (12) heads
the remainder.
SELECTIONS
LIKASA (4) – MAGESTIC MOON (6) – INTELLITA (8) – JUST JIM (12)
RACE 4: AU-DELA DES PISTES HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 1) – 1800M – TIME: 21:57 PRIZE MONEY: EUR17000
Summary: PORTRERO (5), after an encouraging 4th last time out, is a serious candidate for
success, though the same could be said of the 5th finisher that day DORIANELLO (8), who again
enjoys the benefit of Pierre Remoué’s weight allowance. BEST SIXTEEN (9), who also ran in that
race, is well positioned in the stalls and has the means to make his presence felt too. GALALITHE
(7) makes most appeal of the remainder.
SELECTIONS
PORTRERO (5) – DORIANELLO (8) – BEST SIXTEEN (9) – GALALITHE (7)
RACE 5: CAPITAINE RIQUET CLAIMING STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 2) – 1800M – TIME: 22:35 PRIZE MONEY: EUR12000
Summary: ROAST CHESTNUT (1) opened her account when rewarded for her consistency with
a last-start victory over course and distance on her handicap debut. She is more than capable of
following up in this category and is taken to double her tally. ANALYTICS (7) was an eye-catcher
last time out at Saint-Cloud over a shorter trip and is best equipped to threaten that rival, with the
shortlist made up by CAROLINE BAY (5) and SUNGOLD (13).
SELECTIONS
ROAST CHESTNUT (1) – ANALYTICS (7) – CAROLINE BAY (5) – SUNGOLD (13)
RACE 6: AVESNOIS HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 3) – 1800M – TIME: 23:10 PRIZE MONEY: EUR15000
Summary: PRINCEDESCHAMPS (3) ran on well from off the pace over this track and trip 2 starts
back and he shouldn’t be hastily condemned for a disappointing subsequent outing at Amiens,
having failed to find cover and then deliver his customary late charge. However, ANGEL DUST (5),
who has already achieved/enjoyed success at this venue, is expected to put up a fight. TRUST ON
ME (1) makes the long trip with ambitions with Henk Grewe whose record raiding Le CroiséLaroche shouldn’t be scoffed at. EVER READY (2) has the means to join them at the line.
SELECTIONS
PRINCEDESCHAMPS (3) – ANGEL DUST (5) – TRUST ON ME (1) – EVER READY (2)
RACE 7: DE CAGNES CLAIMING STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 4) – 1100M – TIME: 23:45 PRIZE MONEY: EUR12500
Summary: POSAFOLIE (1), who was 3rd in the reference race over course and distance on 19
September, and runner-up that day LAHOMI (4) could find themselves fighting for victory.
PAMPELONNE (3) blew her chances at the start in the same race but retains the means to play a
leading role. SUNSET BIKINI (2), beaten favourite on that occasion, shouldn’t be hastily
condemned.
SELECTIONS
POSAFOLIE (1) – LAHOMI (4) – PAMPELONNE (3) – SUNSET BIKINI (2)
RACE 8: DES WEPPES CLAIMING HANDICAP (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 5) – 1100M – TIME: 00:21 PRIZE MONEY: EUR13000
Summary: A Le Croisé-Laroche specialist, KOUTSOUNAKOS (9) has what it takes to achieve his
fourth career success at this venue. CLAIM THE STARS (4) caught the eye at Chantilly last time
and is likely to threaten that rival with a repeat of that performance. PAPATEOU (6), runner-up to
the selection recently, and WIKENDA (5), who is an unknown quantity over this shorter trip, can
get into the picture.
SELECTIONS
KOUTSOUNAKOS (9) – CLAIM THE STARS (4) – PAPATEOU (6) – WIKENDA (5)
RACE 9: DU PEVELE CLAIMING STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 6) – 2500M – TIME: 00:56 PRIZE MONEY: EUR16000
Summary: STALLONE (13) boasts a win and a 2nd in his 2 appearances at this venue. He showed
his form and well-being in the West recently and he makes the return trip with legitimate winning
ambitions. MOUKOKO (6) and NORTHERN STARLET (5) renew rivalry having finished 2nd and
3rd respectively over this course and distance in a similar contest. Both have the means to make
life difficult for the selection. BLACK HAWK (3) has enjoyed great success with Mickaël Barzalona
and shouldn’t be hastily condemned for a recent failure. DAZZLE AT DAWN (10) completes the
shortlist.
SELECTIONS
STALLONE (13) – MOUKOKO (6) – NORTHERN STARLET (5) – BLACK HAWK (3)
RACE 10: PLOUICH CLAIMING STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 7) – 2500M – TIME: 01:28 PRIZE MONEY: EUR15000
Summary: POTE (1) was run down late, after setting a brisk pace, by SKY GOLD (3) in similar
contest over this course and distance last month but is weighted to avenge that defeat on these
revised terms. MAITRE DE CHANT (5), in his first appearance at this level, and light weight
XYLOPHONE (7), a novice at this level as well, aren’t taken lightly .
SELECTIONS
POTE (1) – SKY GOLD (3) – MAITRE DE CHANT (5) – XYLOPHONE (7)
RACE 11: CAMBRESIS STAKES (TURF TRACK) (FROM LE CROISE-LAROCHE RACE 8) – 1800M – TIME: 02:00 PRIZE MONEY: EUR15000
Summary: MILLEBOSC (5) is no longer the force of old but showed he retains zest for racing by
winning at La-Roche-Posay last time, and he’s good value to follow up at the primary expense of
RIDPOUR (4) who made an encouraging reappearance at Vichy. MY FANCY (1) is another with
legitimate ambitions after missing last Tuesday’s Quinte+. DAPANGO (3) appeals most of the
remainder.
SELECTIONS
MILLEBOSC (5) – RIDPOUR (4) – MY FANCY (1) – DAPANGO (3)
