1. SHINNING OCEAN – Two unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that at Chantilly in a Class 2
handicap on the PSF over 1600m. Might need to drop a few kilos to be competitive
2. CALAS – Has shaped well of late, 3rd at Deauville over 1600m in a Class 1 handicap on
August 4th on his last outing. Player
3. SKY POWER – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 1600m when IKEN (6) won on July
22nd in a Class 2 handicap. Has work to do to turn that around
4. TUMBLER – Nice effort when 2nd at Deauville in a Class 2 handicap over 1500m on August
25th. Should be involved at the finish
5. PANDIA SELENE – Won at Vichy over 1600m on August 14th in a Class 3 race last time. Can
be effective from stall 3
6. IKEN – Won at Compiegne over 1600m in a Class 2 handicap on July 22nd when last racing.
Can be in the shake-up
7. QUARTZ DU HOULEY – Two unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that over 1400m at Saint-Cloud
on June 30th in a Class 2 handicap. Can make the frame at attractive odds
8. SIMPLY STRIKING – Fair 3rd over 1600m in a Class 2 handicap at Deauville on August 6th on
his latest outing. Each way must
9. ALATHEA – 4th last time, won before that over 2000m at Le Lion D’Angers on July 11th in a
Class 3 handicap. Others rate higher
10. MARZOUK – 4th at Compiegne behind IKEN (6) in a Class 2 handicap on July 22nd when
last appearing. Might find this difficult
11. STAR ROCK – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 1900m in a Class 3 race at Deauville
on July 6th. Has not looked the most reliable and best overlooked
12. AL KHAMSIN – Won a Class 3 handicap at Deauville over 1600m on August 6th last time and
can make the top four at decent odds
13. HOLLYHOCK – Has been 2nd on his last two runs, the latter at Deauville over 1600m in a
Class 2 handicap on August 6th. Well drawn and can be on the premises
14. JACK O’BOY – Won over 1400m at Baden-Baden (DEU) on June 1st on his latest outing.
More is required in a stronger race
15. FAMOSO – 4th last time at Vichy in a Class 3 race over 1600m on August 14th and not
beaten far when 6th at Compiegne in July before that. Hard to ignore each way
16. AIGUIERE D’ARGENT – 3rd two runs back over 1800m in a Class 3 race at Chantilly on July
14th. Has normally ran well at this track in the past
Summary: CALAS (2) has been running consistently recently and holds a leading chance after a
pleasing third at Deauville in a Class 1 handicap over the straight track early last month. He was
beaten in a close finish that day. PANDIA SELENE (5) will be dangerous and will be in a good
frame of mind after scoring at Vichy in mid-August. TUMBLER (4) can also be expected to have a
say in proceedings after a pleasing second-placed run on his most recent start. SIMPLY
STRIKING (8) can make the frame.

and tries a new surface. One to watch in the betting from a shrewd trainer
2. SUNSET BIKINI – Unplaced last two runs, won a Class 3 race at Dieppe on May 13th over
1000m three runs ago. Makes her debut on the PSF and is top-rated. In the mix
3. AUDELADESETOILES – Good 2nd on the PSF at Deauville over 1300m in a claimer on
August 13th on her latest start. Can win on debut for new connections
4. FUJI HANA – Fair 4th at Vichy over 1000m on August 7th in a maiden on her latest outing.
Tries the PSF and drops in class. Can make the frame at nice odds
5. VICTORIA SQUARE – Well beaten on her sole run over 1300m at Deauville in a claimer on
August 13th. Needs vast progress to feature
6. TWILLY LIGHT – Two unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 900m at Saint-Cloud in a
claimer on April 19th. Looks of limited ability
7. ZOUZAL – 6th last time over 1600m at Clairefontaine in a claimer on July 31st. Has an outside
place chance
8. PRINCESS SPIRIT – Two unplaced runs so far, the latter over 1500m at Deauville in a maiden
on August 22nd. Has work to do
9. CERES – Showed promise on her sole run when 6th in a maiden over 1600m at Saint-Malo on
July 15th. Drop in trip and grade and can be competitive
10. LADY MADEIRA – Fair 3rd last time at Deauville over 1300m on August 13th when claimed
by her new trainer. Can not be ruled out
11. LAHOMI – Three unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 1400m at Compiegne on July
22nd in a claimer. Has place claims
12. STRAIGHTTOTHEPOINT – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 1300m at Deauville on
the PSF in a claimer on August 13th. Merits consideration
Summary: AUDELADESETOILES (3) was a good second at Deauville in mid-August on her
latest run, she was claimed that day and has a good chance of scoring for new connections.
CERES (9) is from a leading stable and showed ability at Saint-Malo in July on debut. She can
make things interesting. LADY MADEIRA (10) is now a stablemate of the main selection as she
was claimed when third in the same race at |Deauville in mid-August. She has not much ground
to find. SUNSET BIKINI (2) heads the rest.

Drops in trip but needs plenty of improvement to be involved
2. BAILEYS BACHELOR – 3rd last time over 1000m at Dieppe on August 21st in a handicap.
Might find one or two too smart
3. NEW YORK NEW YORK – Fair 2nd on his sole run over 1200m at Marseille Borely on June
7th. Can improve and play a leading role
4. HANTANO – Has been gelded and is talented, 6th at Deauville on the latest run in November.
Good form when 2nd on debut over 1100m at this track last June. Player
5. HALVA – Has been placed on all four runs, 3rd last time over 1400m at Dieppe on August 21st.
Drops in trip but has the speed to cope
6. QUITE RIGHT TOO – Three unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that over 1100m at Dieppe on
June 14th. Others make more appeal
7. SPRING LANTERN – 6th on her debut at Dieppe over 1100m on June 14th. Can improve and
this well-bred filly is one to watch in the betting market
Summary: HANTANO (4) has not been seen since last November. He showed promise when
placed on his first two runs at this track. He is now a gelding and is worth taking a chance on.
HALVA (5) is talented and is dropping back in trip after a decent run over slightly further recently.
She has speed and looks like a threat. NEW YORK NEW YORK (3) is unexposed and was
beaten narrowly on debut. he warrants respect. SPRING LANTERN (7) is well-bred and should
improve from her debut.

1. HOLLY PHELIE – 3rd two runs back over 1600m in a claimer at Vichy on August 14th. Won at
Parague(CZE) in April. Opposable
2. SCORCH – Three unplaced runs so far, the latter over 2350m in a maiden race on May 8th.
Handicap debut and others are preferred
3. VELIA – Credible 3rd last time over 2000m at Mauron in a Class 3 race on July 28th. Can
make the top three
4. MAGIC WORLD – Did well when 2nd in a claimer at Nort-Sur-Erdre over 1800m on August
11th on his latest outing. Merits consideration
5. NICE RULER – 5th last time over 1600m in a handicap at Clairefontaine on August 9th.
Capable of being in the shake-up
6. ELTON – 5th last time over 1950m at Chateaubriant on August 16th in a handicap. One to
keep safe
7. LOVELY HEART – Three unplaced efforts, the latest over 1900m in a claimer at Deauville on
August 17th. Tries a handicap but can be passed over
8. GOGO DU BREUIL – Three unplaced efforts so far, the most recent over 1600m at Vichy when
well beaten in a claimer on August 14th. Makes no appeal
9. IRINKA – 4th last time over 2200m at Erbray on August 17th in a Class 3 race. Ought to be on
the premises
10. L’ELU DE SADDLE – Nice 3rd over 1600m in a handicap at Clairefontaine on August 9th
when last racing. Can feature
11. ENORA SENORA – Two unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that over 2000m at Saint-Cloud on
May 10th in a handicap. Place chance
12. ARLINO – Well beaten in five runs so far, the latter over 1600m in a handicap at
Clairefontaine on August 9th. Hard to recommend
13. PADDY WHITE HEART – 5th last time over 2200m at Erbray on August 17th in a Class 3
race. Has ability but is unreliable
14. SCATARINNA – Has several unplaced runs so far, the latter over 1600m at Deauville in a
handicap on August 6th. Hardly inspiring
Summary: L’ELU DE SADDLE (10) is the tentative selection in a race that will not take that much
winning. He was third at Clairefontaine recently and a couple of places back was his likely main
threat this time in NICE RULER (5) who had a run over this track earlier this year and has
improved since that unplaced run. VELIA (3) was third last time and is one to include in all of the
place bet permutations. IRINKA (9) is also worth a mention.

2. SWEET AS – Decent 3rd last time over 1300m in a Class 3 handicap at Deauville on the PSF.
Acts on turf and can play a leading role
3. INVIOLABLE SPIRIT – Two unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 1100m at Dieppe on
June 14th in a Class 3 handicap. Hard to rule out of the top four
4. LES TROIS VALLEES – 5th last time, 3rd before that over 1300m at Deauville on the PSF in a
Class 3 handicap on August 8th. Has placed form at this track on turf
5. SVOUL – Has four unplaced runs this year, the most recent at Deauville over 1100m in a Class
4 handicap. Was a useful performer but seems to have lost his way
6. GLICOURT – 6th last time, won before that over 1000m at Vichy in a Class 4 handicap on
August 7th. Ought to be thereabouts
7. MEHANYDREAM – Won over 1000m at Vichy in a Class 4 handicap on his latest outing on
August 23rd. Can place at nice odds
8. YAKAMETTE KOUKEBAK – Has six unplaced runs since a 2nd at Marseille Borely over
1200m in a Class 4 handicap on March 20th. Makes no appeal
9. BLUE DREAM – 4th over 1200m last time at Ostende (BEL) on August 26th. Others seem
better equipped
10. ILLUMINATING – Three unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that over 1100m at Le CroiseLaroche in a Class 4 handicap on April 20th. Unlikely to figure
11. BIENNE – Has several unplaced runs this year, the latter over 1000m at Vichy behind
MEHANYDREAM (7) on August 23rd in a Class 4 handicap. Unlikely to be a threat
12. RED PROPELLER – Three unplaced runs of late, the latter over 1100m at Deauville in a
Class 4 handicap on August 13th. Can not be relied on
13. PILE OU FACE – Two unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 1100m at Dieppe in a Class
4 race on July 29th. Previous course and distance winner and has each-way claims
14. LE CHAT BOTTE – Has dropped to a reasonable handicap rating since a win at Agen over
1650m on November 13th last year in a Class 4 handicap. Place chance
15. CAPELENA – Has shown no form this year, the latest tame effort was over 1000m at Vichy in
a Class 4 handicap on August 7th. Can be avoided
Summary: SWEET AS (2) has run well recently on the PSF in a competitive handicap. He acts
on turf and could be the answer in an open divided handicap. Her latest third at Deauville was
encouraging. His main threat could be LES TROIS VALLEES (4) who was not far behind in fifth in
the same race and will have no issues with the return to grass and the drop back in distance.
PILE OU FACE (13) is a course and distance winner and seems to like this 1100m journey.
GLICOURT (6) makes up the shortlist.
