C1 – PRIX DU PUY EN VELAY – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Class 3 Handicap – Flat – EUR € 20,000
1. LARNO – Has been good again this year with three wins in his last four starts, including last time
out at in a handicap at this course over 1600m on 7 August. Carries a 3,50kg penalty for latest win
2. BAILEYS BLUES – His last win was on the PSF but he did not run too badly when 5th in a
Clasimer last time out. Capable of making the frame at this level
3. KIZMAMBO – Has struggled in both starts this year and was 9th last time out in a handicap at
Le Lion-d’Angers over this distance on 11 July. Likes the PSF but could surprise
4. GAILLARD – Still improving and won a handicap last time out at Chantilly over 1200m on 7 May.
Returns from a break and carries a 2,50kg penalty but is not out of it
5. MANAROLA – Unreliable but did not show her best when 7th last time out in a handicap over
this track and trip on 16 July. Capable of earning some money but others are preferred
6. BLANC BLEU – On a very long losing run and was 8th last time out in a Claimer at Salon-deProvence over 1800m on 25 June. Others are much preferred
7. WAZIERS – In very good form of late and was a winner of a handicap last time out over this track
and trip on 16 July. Carries a 2.50kg penalty for that win and can follow up
8. KOOL FIRST – His only win was on the PSF but he has been consistent of late and was third
last time out in a Conditions race at Le Touquet over 1300m on 1 July. Could play a minor role
9. HOLLY HAPPY – Yet to win a race but was not disgraced when 5th last time out in a handicap
at Le Lion-d’Angers over this distance on 11 July. More is needed to win but may play a minor role
10. KADIYAC – Has struggled in handicaps of late and was 6th last time out in a Conditions race
at Vuttel over 1600m on 2 August. Others are preferred
11. RAPIDO PRESTO – Very consistent this year and was third last time out in a handicap at La
Teste-de-Buch over 1400m on 28 June. Deserves a win for that consistency
12. ETERNEL – Has really struggled of late and was tenth last time out in a handicap at Saint-cloud
over 1400m on 30 June. Others are much preferred
Summary: RAPIDO PRESTO (11) was not beaten far last time out and has been very consistent
in handicaps this year. That consistency could be rewarded with a victory one of these days,
perhaps this time. WAZIERS (7) is in good form and could still be a threat under a 2.5-kg penalty
for the last win. GAILLARD (4) returns from a break but was improving and is clearly not out of it.
KIZMAMBO (3) proved in need of both runs this year and could make vast improvement.

2. VHARQAM – Did not show much in two starts and was 6th last time out in a Conditions race over
this course and distance on 31 July. Needs to find a few lengths to win
3. COKTAIL – Showed some promise when third on debut in a Conditions race at this course over
1400m on 15 July. Be right there at the finish once again
4. GOOD SPEED – Improving and was runner-up last time out in a Conditions race at this course
over 1400m on 15 July. Can go one better this time around
5. MON FAVORI – Did not show much on debut when 7th in a Conditions race at ClairefontaineDeauville over this distance on 27 July. Capable of improvement but others are preferred
6. TIPINSO – Not disgraced when fourth on debut in a Conditions race at La Teste-de-Buch over
1400m on 27 June. Could make the frame
7. CAMELOR – Well beaten on his debut when 11th in a Conditions race at this course over 1400m
on 15 July. Capable of improvement but others are preferred
8. PURPLE LION – Not disgraced when 5th on debut in a Conditions race at Chantilly over 1400m
on 26 June. Should improve and be a real threat to these rivals
9. SONNAZ – A two-year-old colt by Goken out of Pollatine who is making his debut. Watch the
betting
Summary: A competitive race where the main selections are all capable of improvement. GOOD
SPEED (4) has run well in both starts and was ahead of rival COKTAIL (3) last time out. COKTAIL
(3) could be smarter off that debut and is a danger. PURPLE LION (8) and YELLOW HAWK (1)
were both not disgraced on their debut and with improvement expected should also be involved
with the finish.

4. MAJESTIC HILL – Did not show much on her debut when 9th in a Conditions race at Vitel over

5. MIGHTY YOUNG – Did not run badly when fourth on debut but did not repeat that effort when
only 9th last time out in a Conditions race at this course over 1400m on 15 July. Others are
preferred
6. BRILLANTE – Did not show much on her debut when 8th in a Conditions race at La Teste-deBuch over 1400m on 21 July. Capable of improvement but others are preferred
7. ELUSIVE BELARDO – Showed promise on her debut when third in a Conditions race at this

8. SISSI IMPERATRICE – Consistent so far and was third last time out in a handicap at this course
over 1400m on 20 July. Can contest the finish
9. SILGREYPIT – A two-year-old filly by The Grey Gatsby out of Silvery Bay who is making her

could be competitive. SISSI IMPERATRICE (8) ran well in a handicap last time out and can contest
the finish.

course over 2000m on 7 August. Won two races earlier this year and is capable of an upset
3. PORTUCALE – Improving and was fourth last time out in a Conditions race at Les Sablesd’Olonne over 1950m on 20 July. First time in a handicap and is not out of it
4. ALGOT – A winner of three races this year and was fourth last time out in a handicap at Vittel
over this distance on 25 July. Has a winning chance
5. WILLOWER – Yet to win a race but has improved of late and was runner-up last time out in a
handicap over this track and trip on 17 July. Can go one better this time
6. ARTUS THE BRAVE – Did not run too badly when fourth last time out in a Conditions race at
Saint-Malo over 2500m on 8 August. First time in a handicap and is not out of it
7. LORD MIESQUE – Unreliable and was 8th last time out in a handicap over this track and trip on
31 July. Capable of better but others are preferred
8. CHINCHA ALTA – Yet to win a race but was runner-up last time out in a handicap at Argentan
over 2500m on 11 April. Might need this run returning from a break
9. ADORABLE – Yet to win a race and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Saint-Cloud over

10. LA CLOCHARDE – Showed vast improvement when she was third in a handicap last time out

Summary: WILLOWER (5) has yet to win a race but knocked ard at the door last time out and can
go one better this time. LA CLOCHARDE (10) ran well over this track last time out and could do
even better this time around. ALGOT (4) has won three times this year and was not disgraced last
time out so deserves the utmost respect. SHALAA DANCER (11) showed improvement last time
out and could have more to offer.

3. CAMERON – Unplaced in a Handicap at Chantilly over 1900m on 14 November. Ignore the latest
effort and he is seldom far off them
4. SOUND OF SIXTIES – A runner up in a Conditions race at Chantilly over 2700m on 23
November. Improved effort in the latest and must confirm
5. CAELESTIS – She ran fourth in a Listed race at Chantilly over 2100m on 14 July. Dropping in
category and should make a bold bid for success
6. LONG AGO – She finished 8th in a Listed race at Deauville over 1600m on 7 July. Capable of
bouncing back and contesting the finish
7. STELLA MARINA – Finished 6th in a Conditions race at Vitteaux over 2000m on 7 July. Two
moderate efforts to date and needs to find a few lengths
Summary: CAELESTIS (5) was fourth in a Listed race last time out and should make a bold bid at
victory against these rivals. LONG AGO (6) did not show her best last time out but was consistent
before that and can bounce back to be a danger. GIMANZOR (1) won well last time out and would
not be a surprise winner. ACCORD PARFAIT (2) benefitted from the blinders last time out and
could get involved with the finish.

Seldom far off them and can make the frame
4. JOBOAH – He ran well when fourth in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 2200m on 31
July. In good form, has proven himself at this level and is track-suited
5. AVENTUREUSE – She ran well when fourth in a Conditions race at Saint-Malo over 2500m on
24 July. She won in a small province but has room to improve further
6. CARA FAL – She was third in a Conditions race at Vittel over 2100m on 2 August. Improved
latest effort and must confirm that
7. FOR WIN – He was fifth in a Handicap at this track over 2000m on 16 July. He ran well in this
category last time out and can show more
8. MIDDLE KICK – Finished 6th in a Handicap at Clairefontaine-Deauville over 2200m on 31 July.
In six races over 2000m, she finished in the top three five times including three victories
9. DAROMY – Well beaten 8th in a Handicap at this track over 1600m on 19 July. She has the
experience and is proven at this level
10. SARIMARES – Third in a Conditions race at Wissembourg over 2150m on 20 May. Some
improvement in the latest but might need the run
11. LA MAZZI GOGO – Fifth in a Handicap at this track over 1600m on 19 July. yet to place and is
an unlikely winner
Summary: There was not much in it between rivals in this JOBOAH (4), FOR WIN (7) and MIDDLE
KICK (8) last month and all three will have winning chances this time round. Luck in running will be
the key factor. JOBOAH (4) is in good form and gets a narrow vote to fend off those rivals. LIBERTY
JAMES (3) was sixth in a Claimer last time out but is usually competitive and deserves some
respect.

attempts at claimers, she has been top four four times
6. RIVER LILLY – She ran well when third in a Handicap at Dieppe over 2200m on 5 August. In
good form and back in a Claimer where she has been competitive
7. KHELLE TARTARE – Finished 6th in a Handicap at La Teste-du-Buch over 2000m on 6 August.

August. Equipped with Australian blinders for the first time and can surprise

Summary: PARK OF DIAMOND (4) was not disgraced when fifth last time out in a handicap. This
looks an easier task and he should fight out the finish. RIVER LILLY (6) has been competitive in
this division and did run well in a handicap last time out. She should be a real threat again.
LOVEBIRD (2) is holding form and was runner-up last time out at this level so deserves respect.
WUKOLINA (5) is also capable of making the frame.
