Summary: APPLES AND BANANAS (2) has been racing in Ireland and makes his French debut.
The two efforts in Ireland were encouraging and he is therefore selected to make a winning local
debut. SILIUS (5) improved to record a victory in his second start. He could be anything and can
follow up. ROSA SALVAJE (6) has caught the eye in both starts thus far and can be given serious
each way claims. ALOYSIUS (1) is a must for the quartet bet.

4. GRETZKY – Finished 6th over 1800m at Compiegne in a claiming race and can finish in the first
four. Chance
5. SI CAPO SI – Was near the back in 14th place on debut and will need to do much more to place
in this. Pass by
6. AVENTURA – She is by Mr Owen out of a Empire Maker mare that could be anything. Watch
the betting trends as race time looms
Summary: CORONADO (2) is lightly raced and holding form. He finished an encouraging 3rd over
2000m last time and rates the one they all have to fear the most. RAIKE (1) lines up for the first
time in France but was victorious in Denmark over 1850m last time out and could be anything here.
Respect and include. GRETZKY (4) will need to progress on recent form but has placed before and
can do so in this. Value suggestion for the first four. AVENTURA (6) could be good enough to finish
in the money on debut. Watch the betting trends as race time looms.

4. NASOMO – Was a winner three starts back over 2400m in a claiming race at Compiegne. Has
been average thereafter
5. FUTURE FATE – Finished 4th over 1800m in a Handicap at Dieppe last time and can get much
closer today. Respect and include
6. HENRY THE LION – Seldom far off the action, placed 5th over 1600m at Deauville on the 6th of
August in a Handicap and has a strong place chance
7. BUMBLE BEE – Will need to progress on latest 6th over 1850m and can. Include as the value
for the minor positions
8. HARRISON POINT – Boasts a victory at Deauville on the 4th of this month over 1900m in
Handicap class. Can follow up, big chance
9. VEGA OF SAINTS – Ignore last run when 6th, finished 4th over 2300m at Angers before that
and has to be factored into all bets
10. LUNATICOS – Small place chance at very best, finished only 8th last time but did run 2nd in
penultimate run. Prefer others
11. ON Y VA – Placed 5th over 1900m in a Handicap at this venue last time out and will need to
build on that for the victory. Prefer others
12. LINFASOMMER – Attractive 2nd at Vichy over 1600m in a Handicap on the 20th of July and
can go one more. Bright chance
13. APOLLON – Current form has been on the decline over various trips and is hard to fancy.

14. SAADIYAT – Is hard to make a case for on current form and will need big improvement to
threaten. Pass by
15. ALCOTAN – Fair 4th over 1900m in a Handicap at this track last month and can feature again.

Summary: LETTY’S MARVEL (3) finished 4th over 1900m in a competitive Handicap at Deauville
last time and is never too far adrift the winners. He is the first selection. DEEP SEA (2) is a tad off
form but did catch the eye when 2nd at Parislongchamp three starts back. She can be expected to
do way better today. HARRISON POINT (8) boasts solid form and was a winner last time out. If he
were to follow up, and win again, it would come as no shock at all. HENRY THE LION (6) can be
expected to be roaring home to find a first four finish.

4. FRAISE DES BOIS – Is unbeaten four from four and can remain unbeaten after this. Won over
1200m in a LIsted race at LA Teste on the 21st of last month. WIn
5. LOVE TALK – Will need to build on latest 6th over 1400m in Listed class at Sandown. Outside
place chance at very best
6. SECRET WOOD – Finished 2nd over 1200m in a Grade 3 at Chantilly and has a very strong
chance here. Big chance
7. IRON BIRD – Finished 3rd over 1200m at Deauville last time but plenty more required for the

La Teste. She is confidently selected to remain unbeaten after this. SIMMERING (2) makes the

over 2400m. Will strip fitter for that and is capable of being more competitive today
3. SWEET MEMORIES – 4th last time at Haydock (GBR) over 2370m in a Group 2 race on July
6th. Possibly the second string of the Gosden runners
4. TREVAUNANCE – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 2400m in a Group 3 race at
Cork(IRL) on June 14th. Travels from Ireland but needs a few to falter

6. ANGEL GUIDANCE – Won her last two runs, the latter a Listed race at Saint-Cloud over 3000m
on June 31st. Strong stayer who might need a bit further
7. AVENTURE – Decent 4th in the Prix De Diane (Gr.1) last time when beaten leas than a length
on June 16th at Chantilly, she won a Group 3 race before that at Chantilly over 2400m on June
2nd. Live contender
Summary: A good fourth in the Prix De Diane(Gr.1) last time, AVENTURE (7) should be too smart
for her older rivals. She looks like she is improving with race experience. OTTERY (1) is an honest
performer and could be the one who makes the selection work hard for success. She was a decent
third in the Prix De Nieuil (Gr.2) in mid-July at Parislongchamp on her latest start and has run well
at this track previously. IZNIK (5) and ONE EVENING (2) are both respected and can also have a
say at the finish.

Summary: EAGLEHAWK (1) ran a pleasing race when fourth 17 days ago at Clairefontaine in a
Class 3 handicap. In a race where a large portion of the field seems out of form, he can score off
top-weight. ALPENGEIST (8) is likely to give the selection the most to do after a fourth-placed run
at Compiegne in mid-July. ANGEL DUST (10) will be in a good frame of mind after scoring at Vichy
late last month and looks like a good each-way option. OCTOBER CHOPE (12) is also worth a
mention.

6. PALAZZO – Nice 3rd last time at this track over 1900m on the PSF in a handicap. Acts on turf
and is among the leading chances
7. BLUE MOVES – 4th last time in a Class 2 race, won before that in a maiden at Compiegne over
1400m on May 24th. Lightly raced and has more to come
8. THAT’S LIFE – 5th last time on July 18th on her seasonal return over 1600m at Vichy. Should
strip fitter this time and can be competitive
9. PRINCE OF CLOUDS – Good 3rd last time at Dieppe over 1800m in a handicap on July 29th.
Ought to be in the shake-up
10. FOU FURIEUX – Unplaced last time, won before that over 1200m at Chantilly on July 2nd in a
handicap. Looks vulnerable
Summary: BABAKOOL (4) has been running over further than this trip recently. Not quite up to the
Listed Class last time he was a good second before that over 2000m in a Class 2 race in late June
at Saint-Cloud. He should have the speed to cope and is given marginal preference to AMERICAN
LAWYER (3) who has been in good heart of late. He acts on the turf and was a good second on
the PSF last time at this venue 18 days ago. INDIE BRIGHT (5) and PRINCE OF CLOUDS (9) can
fight it out for minor honours.

12. LUCI DEL FARO – Two good 3rd placed runs of late, the latter of them over 1900m at Deauville
in a Class 3 handicap on July 30th. Course and distance winner before and looks a player
Summary: RECOLETTY (2) is the tentative selection in an open handicap. He ran well over the
course and distance when third 20 days ago and has probably the most to fear from LUCI DEL
FARO (12) who has a good racing weight and has been third on his last two runs at this venue.
MELBORA (1) scored over track and trip last time at the end of July and can not be ruled out.
COGNAC (8) got a confidence booster when winning at Clairefontaine last time and is also one to
be considered.

Summary: EXCITING (6) can score in what looks to be an open handicap. He was a good third at
Clairefontaine two starts ago and edges this from OYAPOCK (4) who has dropped in the handicap
to a reasonable rating and ran a more promising race 17 days ago at Clairefontaine when fifth,
which was encouraging. RESTLESS SPIRIT (3) could be a good option for the each-way backers
to look at. CAREGIVER (9) makes up the shortlist.
