RACE BY RACE PREVIEWS: GREYVILLE POLYTRACK@2024.07.31

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 1, Gallops, 1000m, Poly, R110,000, 12:40GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: WORLD PHAROAH (9) has the widest draw to contend with but has been close up in some useful company. He shows good pace and should take to the poly first time out. Clinton Binda saddles two, best of which looks to be SMASHING (6) who has consistent Highveld form and meets some modest opposition. FEATHER DANCER (2) has his first run for a new stable. He goes well on the poly and a change of routine could bring out the best. ISIQALABA (5) has improved in blinkers and has a money chance. (Andrew Harrison: 9-6-2-5).

Selections:

#9 WORLD PHAROAH, #6 SMASHING, #2 FEATHER DANCER, #5 ISIQALABA

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 2, Gallops, 1400m, Poly, R115,000, 13:15GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: SAUDI SWEEP (3) was out-paced late on the Hollywoodbets Scottsville turf last time out. She should enjoy the extra and the switch to poly could suit. TERMINAL VELOCITY (12) has a tough draw to contend with but showed up well on debut and the stable is in red-hot form. If overcoming the draw she will go close. LIGHTINTHEDARKNESS (2) has shown up nicely in her two sprints to date. She has a good draw and the extra will suit. HER ROYALTY (10) has drawn a little wide but has consistent form. She is proven over the trip and first time blinkers could bring out the best. (Andrew Harrison: 3-12-10-2).

Selections:

#3 SAUDI SWEEP, #12 TERMINAL VELOCITY, #10 HER ROYALTY, #2 LIGHTINTHEDARKNESS

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 3, Gallops, 1800m, Poly, R110,000, 13:50GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Louis Gooden could hold the cards here. ELUSIVE BELLE (1) has the best of the draw and was staying on well to finish two lengths off Facile last time out. She has the best of the draw and she does act on the poly. However, stable companion DYNASTY’S LAST (8) although struggling to improve, was only a length back to Elusive Belle in the race won by Facile and she is now 6kg better off in the weights. That should be enough to see her turn the tables. RUBY CLAIRE (9) makes her poly debut and did show improved form last start. The step up in trip could be what she is looking for. NOVEMBER BOOGIE (5) was much improved back in blinkers last run. She made no show on the poly at her penultimate start which is concerning. (Andrew Harrison: 8-9-1-5).

Selections:

#8 DYNASTY’S LAST, #9 RUBY CLAIRE, #1 ELUSIVE BELLE, #5 NOVEMBER BOOGIE

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 4, Gallops, 1800m, Poly, R110,000, 14:25GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Competitive handicap. LADIES WORLD (6) took on a strong field first run out of the maidens and was not too far back She is down in class here and goes well on the poly. IDEAL GIFT (3) had a tough draw when hunting three on the bounce but was only beaten just over three lengths by Hot Strike. She has a better draw here. Gareth van Zyl will be looking to cement his place at the top of the KZN trainer’s log and saddles three runners with chances but best of them could be TRUE LOVE’S KISSES (4) with stable jockey Serino Moodley up. She has one blemish in her four outings since shedding her maiden and the form of her last win has worked out well with WOODLAND GLADE (12) winning next time out. (Andrew Harrison: 6-4-3-12).

Selections:

#6 LADIES WORLD, #4 TRUE LOVE’S KISS, #3 IDEAL GIFT, #12 WOODLAND GLADE

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 5, Gallops, 1900m, Poly, R110,000, 15:00GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Wide open. ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD (5) has useful form over course and distance. His last two runs have been over shorter and he can come good here. TOM’S ACT (1) was outclassed last run and should do better in this company from the best of the draw and with Rachel Venniker’s 1.5kg allowance. KING BAVARIAN (7) is slightly under sufferance but has been consistent of late and with joint bottom weight he can be dangerous. EVENTIDOR (3) goes well on the poly. He shoulders top weight but will go close if holding form. (Andrew Harrison: 5-1-7-3-2).

Selections:

#5 ALLAROUNDTHEWORLD, #1 TOM’S ACT, #7 KING BAVARIAN, #3 EVENTIDOR

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 6, Gallops, 1400m, Poly, R110,000, 15:35GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Wide open. MOYA WA LINGA (12) has the worst of the draw but has been in good form since returning from the Cape. He has been narrowly beaten in his last two starts on the poly and should finish thereabouts. PHAKA IMALI (4) has been holding form well and also goes well on the poly. He has a favourable draw to help his chances. KHANYISA INDLELA (3) won well last time out and beat a good one in Aberdeen last time out, Glen Kotzen’s runner showing signs of his best form. KIMBALL O’HARA (10) finally got his act together last outing but was being caught late. He can follow up on this shorter trip. (Andrew Harrison: 12-4-3-10).

Selections:

#12 MOYA WA LALIGA, #4 PHAKA IMALI, #3 KHANYISA INDLELA, #10 KIMBALL O’HARA

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 7, Gallops, 1400m, Poly, R110,000, 16:10GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: PORFIRIO (7) has been touched off in his last three over a mile on this course. This shorter trip could be what he is looking for and has the perfect rider in Kabelo Maysunyane. BENNI IN THE AREA (6) loves this synthetic surface and goes well this trip. He can go one better. STARS IN HEAVEN (8) was a recent maiden winner in the Cape. He does appear to be much better than his first run out of the maidens and the switch to the poly could help his chances. IMAGINABLE (9) got the better of Benni In The Area over course and distance last time out but is now 3kg worse off at the weights for a length beating. (Andrew Harrison: 7-6-8-9).

Selections:

#7 PORFIRIO, #6 BENNI IN THE AREA, #8 STARS IN HEAVEN, #9 IMAGINABLE

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 31.07.2024, Race 8, Gallops, 1000m, Poly, R110,000, 16:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: DISCERNING (10) has the widest draw to contend with but has some consistent form in useful company. She shoulders a big weight but looks capable in this line-up. VISION OF WILL (1) has the best of the draw and is over her favourite course and distance. S’Manga Khumalo stays with the ride. PRANKSTER (8) has been coming to hand nicely since arriving from Cape Town. She has improved in blinkers. DRIVE BY (7) was a comfortable winner last run but did get a six-point shunt up the handicap for her troubles. She gets 4kg claiming apprentice up which should nullify the increase so a repeat showing can see her go in again. (Andrew Harrison: 10-1-8-7).

Selections:

#10 DISCERNING, #1 VISION OF WILL, #8 PRANKSTER, #7 DRIVE BY

Best Win: #7 PORFIRIO

Best Value Bet: #12 MOYA WA LALIGA

Best Longshot: #8 DYNASTY’S LAST
