R1 – PRIX POPOF – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Maiden Race – Flat – EUR € 17,000
1. CITYDOR – Two unplaced runs so far, the latter over 1100m at Dieppe on June 14th. Looks
vulnerable
2. WILD CITY – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 1300m at Chantilly on February 23rd.
Others rate higher
3. GUERRIER MYSTERE – 4th last time over 1350m in a Class 3 race at Angers on June 20th.
Has work to do
4. HALVA – Nice debut 2nd over 1100m at Dieppe on June 14th. She can improve for that run
and looks likely to score
5. GAZZIA – 6th on debut over 1200m at Marseille Borely on June 7th in a maiden race. Might
find a few of these too smart
6. LOLLIPOP STAR – Credible 4th last time over 1200m at Marseille Borely on June 7th. She can
make the frame
7. BAILEYS ILLUSION – 2nd last time over 1400m at Limoges on May 5th on her second start.
More required in a better race
8. MOONFIRE – She was formerly trained in the UK. She has experience and was 4th last time at
Chelmsford (GBR) when she ran over 1200m. She can be involved on her French debut
9. MAY DAY SPIRIT – Has several unplaced runs, the latter over 2650m on June 3rd. Looks of
limited ability and one to avoid
10. BREATHE ON – Three runs so far, when she was 6th on each start. Her latest effort was over
1300m at Deauville on December 20th. Each way angle
11. ONE MISTRESS – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 1200m on April 30th in a maiden
race. Consider
Summary: HALVA (4) was a nice second on her debut over 1100m at Dieppe on June 14th. She
can improve for that run and looks likely to score. Her main rival could be MOONFIRE (8), who
has experience and has run well on all three runs so far, her latest effort was at Chelmsford
(GBR) when she was fourth over 1200m. She can be involved in her French debut. ONE
MISTRESS (11) was unplaced last time and was third before that over 1200m on April 30th. She
needs to be considered. BREATHE ON (10) heads the remainder.

Summary: MER NOIR (6) has been second on the last two runs, the latter over 2500m on June
2nd in a Class 4 race. He has solid claims for success. KAHOUN could be the biggest danger
she won four runs ago over 1800m on April 24th and has run credibly since that success. MAGIC
MERCURY (2) was fourth last time at Niort and looks one to include in all of the place
permutations. EVER READY (3) won last time and warrants respect.

Class 4 handicap at Craon on June 11th. Can make presence felt
5. CISKY – Won last time over 2100m in a Class 4 race at Argentan on June 5th. Can not be
overlooked
6. PLOTINUS – Fair 3rd last time over 2000m at Le Lion D’Angers on June 9th in a Class 4

7. BY THE WAY – Credible 3rd last time over 1900m in a Class 4 handicap on June 3rd at La
Teste. Place chance
8. SCAT LADY – 2nd three runs ago over 2200m in a Class 4 race at Rostrenen on May 19th is
the best form of late. Outside place chance
9. FLAMBOYANTE – Won two runs ago over 1950m at Le Mans on May 15th in a Class 4

Summary: STORMY SPIRIT (4) could be the answer to this open handicap. He has had a run of
fourth-placed efforts of late and off a nice racing weight he can score from CISKY (5) who will be
full of confidence after a recent success at Argentan last time. PLOTINUS (6) is one for the eachway backers to take seriously. IN THE ARMY NOW (13) is also one that should give a good
account of themselves.

2. MARLOWE – Heavily raced this year and has won twice but was 9th last time out in a handicap
at Saint-Cloud over 1600m on 4 June. Capable of doing better and has a place chance
3. LE CENTRAL – Has struggled this year and was 9th last time out in a handicap at
ParisLongchamp over 1300m on 6 June. Needs to do more to win
4. SHINING YELLOW – May have needed the only run of this year when fourth at Krefeld over
1400m on 9 June, Capable of better and can make the frame
5. BARGING THRU – More than a year since last win and was 7th last time out in a handicap at
Strasbourg over 1400m on 13 June. Others are preferred
6. RISING UP – Has struggled all year and was 12th last time out in a handicap at Lyon-Parilly
over 1600m on 23 June. Needs major improvement to win
7. BLACK CESS – Unreliable and was 11th last time out in a handicap at ParisLongchamp over
1300m on 6 June. Capable of earning some money
8. MAJOR OAK – Has struggled in handicaps and was 9th last time out at Strasbourg over
1400m on 13 June. Others are preferred
9. ON LOCKDOWN – At best this distance and was 5th last time out in a handicap at Compiègne
over 1600m on 25 May. Be right there at the finish
10. MOON RIDER – Has completely lost the way and was well beaten last time out in a handicap

11. WELCH FUSILIER – Much improved last run when fourth in a handicap at ParisLongchamp
over 1300m on 6 June. Can do even better this time
12. THE CHARM – Unreliable and was 9th last time out in a handicap at Dieppe over 1100m on
14 June. Better this distance and could be the surprise package of the race
13. SULTAN OF SWING – His only win was on the turf and was fourth last time out in a claimer at
Marseille-Vivaux over 1500m on 24 May. Might play a minor role
14. OYAPOCK – Has struggled in his last four starts, including last time out when 11th in a
Conditions race over 1400m on 16 May. Needs to find a few lengths to win
15. URI – At the top of his game and is hat-trick-hunting after some nice handicap wins at
Compiègne over 1400m, with the latest being on 12 June. Carries a penalty but is not out of it 16. PINK VALENTINE – Unreliable but has won twice this year and was fourth last time out in a
handicap at this course over 1200m on 26 June. Not out of it
17. THE TIME – Unreliable and was well beaten last time out in a handicap at Compiegne over
1400m on 12 June. Won his penultimate start and is capable of an upset
18. CRUELLA DE VIL – Non Partant
Summary: A very open-looking handicap. WELCH FUSILIER (11) showed improvement last time
out and could have more to offer. ON LOCKDOWN (9) is at best over this distance and can be a
threat to these rivals. URI (15) has struck a purple patch of form and has every chance of pulling
off a hat-trick. SHINING YELLOW (4) needed the last run and is capable of improvement

handicap
3. SPEZIAL – Was not disgraced when 6th last time out in a handicap at ParisLongchamp over
1300m on 9 May. Has a winning chance
4. SALALAH – In good form of late and was victorious last time out in a handicap at Dieppe over
1100m on 14 June. Can double up carrying a 3kg penalty
5. GOLDEN ROCK – Did not show much on handicap debut when 11th last time out at
Compiegne over 1400m on 12 June. Others are preferred
6. ROSE ACADEMY – Unreliable but did run well when a runner-up in a handicap last time out at
Compiegne over 1400m on 12 June, Can contest the finish again
7. VIBRATO – Yet to win a race and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Compiegne over
1400m on 12 June. Capable of earning some money
8. SENZA TE – Disappointing of late and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Dieppe over
1100m on 14 June. Capable of better and has a place chance
9. FOU FURIEUX – Only modest form this year and was 5th last time out in a handicap at
Compiegne over 1400m on 12 June. Might play a minor role
10. CORMORAN – Returned to form with a handicap win at Strasbourg over 1400m on 29 May.

12. TIME SIGNATURE – Yet to win a race but was not disgraced when third last time out in a

13. BAILEYS POLKA DOT – Improving and was runner-up last time out in a handicap at Thirsk
over 1200m on 7 June. Can go one better this time
14. MIELA – Improving and was a winner last time out in a handicap at Lyon-Parilly over 1350m

Summary: Trainer Amy Murphy has a good record when raiding in France and BAILEYS POLKA
DOT (13) comes here in good form. She can go one better on her good last performance in the
United Kingdom. EGIATEGIA (1) was not disgraced last time out and could do a lot better this
time. SPEZIAL (3) ran well at ParisLongchamp last month and deserves respect. ROSE
ACADEMY (6) is unreliable but can get involved with the finish
