Race Preview
R1 – PRIX AMBER RAMA – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Class 2 Race – Flat – EUR € 34,000
1. SUPIDO – Cost €72,000 as a yearling, this half-brother to Group winner Zonza showed
undeniable promise when winning on debut over 1400m at Strasbourg on 13 June. Open to any
amount of progress
2. ANGEAL – This Wootton Bassett filly out of a Group winner cost more than €100,000 as a
yearling and she justified market support to make a winning debut over 1200m at this venue on
20 May. Would’ve come on since
3. NUIT DE L’HOMME – Finished 2nd in consecutive starts, over 1000m and 1200m, but
disappointed (beaten more than seven lengths) when only 5th of 9 over 1350m at Lyon-Parilly on
1 June. Needs to redeem himself
4. IMPARABLE – Confirmed the promise of her debut 4th by making the expected improvement
to win her next/start at Le Mans over 1100m on 15 May. A well-bred filly out of a Group II winner,
she should have more to offer
5. MISTYSEA – Didn’t go unnoticed when an encouraging 5th on debut at Chantilly over 1100m
on 16 June. Ought to improve with that experience under the belt
Summary: ANGEAL (2) led from start to finish when making a winning debut at this venue over
1200m – found plenty under pressure. On that evidence, and with the benefit of that experience,
she can only improve over this extended trip so it should pay to follow her progress. Antoine
Griezmann-owned SUPIDO (1) was also a winner on debut, over this distance, and would’ve only
improved in the interim, so could fight for victory. Well-bred IMPARABLE (4), another last-start
winner, will make life difficult for those rivals. MISTYSEA (5) completes the shortlist.

R2 – PRIX LE PARISIEN (PRIX DES COTEAUX DE LA SEINE) – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Class 2 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 53,000
1. WHISPERING DREAM – Placed (3rd) in an 1100m Listed race at the start of the year and
finished an excellent 2nd on handicap debut in the benchmark race (1300m Quinte+ at
ParisLongchamp on 6 June). Candidate for success
2. EMPATHIC – Performed well in competitive conditions races earlier this year – the latest (3rd)
at Fontainebleau over 1200m on 15 March. One to note on his reappearance
3. ETEL DU NINIAN – Won a Quinté+ handicap for females on 20 May but was unable to confirm
that form/improvement when only 9th in a 1500m Quinte+ handicap at Saint-Cloud on 11 June.
For another day
4. OPALUS ROAD – Consistent Quinté+ performer, never worse than 4th in 5 appearances at
this level. Finished 3rd in a similar contest over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 4 June. Keep safe
5. ROYAL SHAKE – Finished 2nd in his first Quinté+ appearance at ParisLongchamp over
1400m in April. Cannot be condemned for his disappointing 8th in the reference race (1300m
Quinte+) at that venue on 6 June – can make amends
6. OMICRONE – Last-start winner of the Prix de l’Ile de la Cité, a 1300m Quinte handicap at
ParisLongchamp on 6 June. Ought to remain competitive under a penalty
7. LOUBEISIEN – Consistent for the most part with sound references off a much higher mark but
has looked a shadow of his former self recently – finished 6th in a 1400m conditions race at
Compiegne on 31 May. Outsider
8. TOIJK – Won a Quinté+ at the end of last year but has been unable to reach those heights
since – finished 2nd in a 1400m claimer at Fontainebleau on 30 April. Others preferred
9. PEACEFUL SEA – Lighty raced filly who finished a well-beaten 14th on her handicap/Quinte+
debut at Saint-Cloud over 1500m on 11 June. Others preferred
10. QUARTZ DU HOULEY – Won a Quinté+ on this track last year but has been out of sorts this
term, soundly beaten in 3 of 4 starts at this level in 2024 – the latest (10th) in a 1600m Quinte+ at
Saint-Cloud on 4 June
11. LEOPARDUCCIO – Won a 1400m Quinté+ handicap on PSF in January and returned from a
5-month absence to finish 8th in a 1600m Quinte+ at Saint-Cloud on 4 June. Can do better
12. ALVA – Has sound references in this category and recently bounced back to form with an
improved/encouraging 3rd in a 1500m Quinte+ at Saint-Cloud on 11 June. Not taken lightly
13. CAMELOT SONG – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 7th in a 1500m Quinte+ handicap at
Saint-Cloud on 11 June. Dark horse
14. JUGANDO – Consistent performer who won at Toulouse over 1400m in April before proving
his competitiveness off this mark (under a 4kg penalty) by finishing 4th in a 1600m handicap at
Angers on 21 May. Dark horse 15. TIMES BOULEVARD – Caught the eye when running on well after securing a clear passage
to finish 3rd in the benchmark race over 1300m in a Quinte+ handicap at ParisLongchamp on 6
June. Has obvious claims with Maxime Guyon aboard
16. CHANEL GOLD – Won a handicap on 28 April but has struggled since, finishing unplaced in
all 2 subsequent starts – finished 10th on both occasions, the latest (10th) in a 1300m Quinte+
handicap at ParisLongchamp on 6 June
Summary: ROYAL SHAKE (5) caught the eye when 2nd on his Quinte+ debut over this distance
at ParisLongchamp and, on the evidence of that performance, is good value to bounce back from
a disappointing 8th in a similar contest last time over 1300m. He ought to fight for victory, if
reproducing his penultimate effort, with TIMES BOULEVARD (15), who finished an encouraging
3rd (ahead of the selection) in their recent Quinte+ meeting on 6 June. WHISPERING DREAM
(1) was 2nd in that race and, although a ‘rookie’ in the handicaps, is likely to play another leading
role. OPALUS ROAD (4) has demonstrated incredible consistency at this level and can be
expected to acquit himself competitively, along with last-start winner (of the reference race)
OMICRONE (6). Of the remainder, LEOPARDUCCIO (11) and ALVA (12) make the most appeal.

R3 – GRAND PRIX DE SAINT-CLOUD – 2400m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Gr1 Race – Flat – EUR € 400,000
1. ZARIR – Finished 2nd in the Group I Prix Ganay, ahead of FEED THE FLAME (2), and warmed
up for this Group I contest with a last-start 3rd in a 2000m Group III at ParisLongchamp on 9
June. The longer trip will suit
2. FEED THE FLAME – High-class colt with proven Group I references, including a last-start 3rd
in the Group I Coronation Cup over 2400m at Epsom on 31 May. Candidate for success
3. OUTBOX – Made a winning reappearance following an 8-month absence in the 2400m Group
II Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket on 3 May. Would’ve benefitted from that comeback outing,
so is dangerous to discount
4. IRESINE – Two-time Group I winner, rested after finishing 9th in the Group I Japan Cup in
November until making a winning reappearance in a 2400m Listed race at Lyon-Parilly on 18
May. Fitter now, winning chance
5. DUBAI HONOUR – Proven, well-traveled Group performer with references at the highest level
on the international stage. Caught the eye when 3rd on his return to France in the 2400m Group
II Grand Prix de Chantilly (2 June)
6. SEVENNA’S KNIGHT – High-class stayer who drops in trip after consecutive victories in the
3000m Group III Prix de Barbeville (28 April) and Group II Prix Vicomtesse Vigier over 3100m (26
May) at ParisLongchamp. Not discounted
7. POINT LONSDALE – This full-brother to Broome, winner of this race in 2021, showed his form
and well-being when winning the Group III Ormonde Stakes over 2700m at Chester on 9 May.
Not taken lightly
Summary: Rested after finishing 9th in the Japan Cup (Group I) last November, high-class
IRESINE (4) showed his class and well-being with an authoritative Listed victory on his
reappearance last month, albeit against lesser opposition. He should, however, have tightened up
with the benefit of that outing and is preferred to Group I Prix Gany 3rd ZARIR (1), who will
appreciate stretching out to this distance. FEED THE FLAME (2) returns to French soil after
finishing 3rd in the Group I Coronation Cup at Epsom and cannot be underestimated either, while
POINT LONSDALE (7) is bidding to emulate the feat of his full-brother Broome, who won this
race for Ballydoyle in 2021. A cracking contest!

R4 – PRIX BIRUM – 2400m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Class 2 Race – Flat – EUR € 28,000
1. PAY TO LEARN – Won last time at Lyon Parilly over 2400m on June 1st in a maiden race. Can
improve and be competitive
2. WIT PERD – Fair 3rd last time over 2400m in a Class 2 race on June 4th. Capable of making
the frame
3. QUASAR – Won last time at Parislongchamp in a claimer over 2000m on June 6th. More
required in a better race
4. SANTAO – Won last time at Dieppe over 2400m in a maiden race on his second start on June
14th. Others rate higher
5. BABAKOOL – Won last time over 2000m at Compiegne on May 31st in a maiden. Grandson of
champion mare Goldikova and looks the likely winner
6. CREATIF – Won on the sole run so far over 2400m at Saint-Cloud on May 20th. Will have
learned plenty from that run and can feature
7. GOLDEN BELLE – Won on the sole run at Saint-Cloud on June 4th over 2400m in a maiden
race. Ought to be involved with normal progress from that success
Summary: BABAKOOL (5) is the Grandson of the champion race mare Goldikova and won
nicely over 2000m last time at Compiegne. He can improve from that success and looks like the
one to beat. PAY TO LEARN (1) could be the one to keep the selection honest after a win last
time at Lyon Parilly on June 1st over 2400m. CREATIF (6) and GOLDEN BELLE (7) scored on
their debut at Saint-Cloud over 2400m and can only make progress from those wins. They can
not be discounted.
