1. MARTIN – Finished an eye-catching 2nd on debut over 1500m at Saint-Cloud last year and 4th
on his reappearance over 2000m at Compiegne on 31 May. Would’ve tightened up with the
benefit of that comeback outing – follow
2. GATTOPARDO – Boasts solid form references/credentials, including a last-start 3rd over
1800m at ParisLongchamp on 13 June. Will make his presence felt
3. HAWK POWER – Has finished 2nd in 3 of his 5 appearances, including his latest over 2000m
at Compiegne on 31 May. Will have a role to play
4. PAPARAZZO – Made no impression on debut at Chantilly over 1600m on 17 May when
finishing a tailed-off last of 8 runners. Best watched for now
5. LORD ASRIEL D ALME – Wasn’t beaten far when an encouraging 4th on debut over 2000m at
Compiegne on 12 June. Should improve with experience
6. OAK LAHOMA – Confirmed the promise of his Dusseldorf debut 4th over 2100m by finishing
3rd over the same trip at Angers on 21 May. Dark horse
7. ALEMANIA – Acquitted herself well on debut at Fontainebleau, finishing 5th over 1800m on 25
November. Likely to improve on her reappearance
8. ZANZIA – Made a pleasing introduction (4th) over 2000m at ParisLongchamp on 26 May and
would’ve benefitted from that experience. Attractive outsider
9. MAGNETICQUEEN – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th on debut at Saint-CLoud over
2400m on 20 May. Ought to improve
10. ALCALA – Finished an encouraging 5th on debut over 2100m at Chantilly on 29 April –
finished ahead of Lemsairbat, 4th in a subsequent Listed race
11. LA VENEZZIA – Improved with the benefit of an introductory outing (9th) to finish 4th over
2000m at Compiegne on 31 May. Not taken lightly
12. OLERON – Caught the eye on debut when finishing 3rd over 2000m at ParisLongchamp on
26 May. Should play a leading role with improvement expected
Summary: MARTIN (1) looked a winner in waiting when an eye-catching 2nd on debut last year
and he would have come on appreciably with the benefit of a pleasing comeback outing at
Compiegne late last month, so it could pay to follow his progress. HAWK POWER (3) finished
ahead of the selection that day and wouldn’t be winning out of turn either. They are likely to find
themselves fighting for victory in this opening event. OLERON (12) and ALCALA (10) are others
open to progress after encouraging introductions, while GATTOPARDO (2) has the form and
experience to make his presence felt too. Good race!

credentials, including a last-start victory in a 1400m PSF handicap at this venue on 26 April.
Ought to remain competitive
2. TIMBER LIGHT – Consistent for the most part and has references at Listed-race level,
including a 3rd over 1600m at Toulouse in April. Must bounce back from a last-start 7th in a
1400m Listed race at ParisLongchamp on 16 May
3. AGAT – Built on the encouragement of his December 2023 debut 5th to win consecutive
comeback outings this year before finishing a creditable 4th in a 1400m Listed race at
ParisLongchamp on 16 May
4. SAIDI EL FAL – Improving last-start winner who opened his account over 1600m at Chantilly
on 17 May having finished 3rd in back-to-back previous outings
5. SUPERCOOLED – Acquitted himself well to finish a commendable 6th in the Group I Poule
d’Essai des Poulains over 1600m at ParisLongchamp on 12 May. Sets the standard
6. MEMPHIS TENNESSEE – Showed promise in each of 3 outings on PSF and has translated
that in 2 starts on turf (both over 1600m) at Lyon-Parilly, winning his first start on the surface and
finishing 2nd in his latest on 8 May. Not taken lightly
7. SUCHET – Hasn’t finished worse than 3rd in 4 appearances – won a newcomers’ event on
debut and twice 3rd before a last-start 2nd (all in Class 1 conditions races), the latest at
ParisLongchamp over 1600m on 30 May. Keep safe
8. GRAND SON OF CALYX – Finished 2nd in a 1400m Listed race at ParisLongchamp on 16
May and wasn’t beaten far when 6th of 9 in a 1400m Group III at that venue on 9 June. Dark
horse
9. GEORGES VILLE – Capable colt with undeniable means. Has confirmed the promise of his
debut win last year by maintaining his form and consistency this year – finished 3rd in a 1600m
Class 1 conditions race at ParisLongchamp on 30 May
10. BAYAMOON – Progressive colt on a steep upward trajectory – confirmed as much with an
impressive Class 1 conditions race victory over 1600m at Lyon-Parilly on 8 May. His limits remain
unknown
11. NO LUNCH – Confirmed the promise of his debut 5th over track and trip by winning his
next/last start at Saint-Cloud over a mile on 11 June. Open to further improvement
12. RETOUCH – Won and finished 2nd in 3 starts last year and built on the promise of his
comeback 2nd this year by winning a Class 2 conditions race over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 20
May. Not taken lightly
Summary: SUPERCOOLED (5) finished a commendable 6th in the Group I Poule d’Essai des
Poulains and need only repeat that performance to take advantage of this drop in grade.
BAYAMOON (10) is an unknown quantity on a steep upward trajectory and could improve to
make life difficult for the selection. MEMPHIS TENNESSEE (6) is held by the latter on recent form
but has the means to make his presence felt, although SHADIZI (1) and NO LUNCH (11) are
likely to pose more of a threat.

1. MASSIMO MERIDIO – Ran on well once the penny had dropped to finish an encouraging 3rd
on debut over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 11 June. Would’ve benefitted appreciably from that
experience
2. LANZELOT GOLD – Built on the promise of his debut 4th by finishing 2nd over track and trip
last month. Failed to improve on that form when only 5th over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 11 June
3. BULLANT – Finished last of 8 on debut over 2000m at Compiegne on 31 May. Headgear worn
that day is dispensed with
4. TRENO – Finished 2nd on debut at Nancy but failed to confirm that promise when only 6th over
1400m at Compiegne on 24 May. Races with a tongue-tie now fitted
5. GRETZKY – Consistent colt with sound references/form credentials, which include finishing 4th
in 3 of his 4 starts – the latest over 1600m at ParisLongchamp on 12 May. Dark horse
6. KAHOOT – Finished last of 8 on debut over 1600m at ParisLongchamp on 31 August.
Absent/gelded since, so is on to keep an eye on
7. EXCEEDING QUEEN – Didn’t go unnoticed when 5th on debut over 1600m on the PSF at this
venue in February but failed to build on that encouragement when only 8th over 1600m at
ParisLongchamp on 18 April – for another day
8. OTHERWORDLY – Confirmed the promise of her debut 2nd over 1500m at Saint-Cloud in
October last year by finishing 2nd again on her reappearance over 1600m at that venue on 11
June. Wouldn’t be winning out of turn
9. SILHAM – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 5th on debut in the coveted Prix de La Cascade
at ParisLongchamp over 1600m on 31 August 2023. Open to any amount of progress on her
reappearance – not to be underestimated
10. BALTIC EMPRESS – Improving filly who has progressed with each outing – confirmed as
much by building on a pleasing comeback 4th at Lyon-Parilly to finish 2nd over this course and
distance on 17 May. Keep safe
11. GALAXIE VEGA – Finished 2nd on debut over this track and trip in March and acquitted
herself well in defeat when 4th over this course and distance on 26 April. Needn’t improve much
to fight for victory
12. LACY FASHION – Caught the eye when finishing 4th on debut over this track and trip on 28
September. Open to any amount of improvement on her reappearance – not taken lightly
13. SEEYOUAGAIN – Finished a well-beaten 11th on debut over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 7
March. Open to improvement but best watched for now
14. EXPERT ADVICE – Consistent filly with sound references/form credentials and whose
experience will stand her in good stead. Finished 3rd (with headgear fitted) over 1400m at Le
Mans on 15 May – headgear now dispensed with 15. EVER KATE – Flavie Bresson-trained Goken debutante to be ridden by Sébastien Maillot – is
probably best watched for now
Summary: GALAXIE VEGA (11) has caught the eye in both outings and performed well enough
in competitive races to suggest that this is well within her compass. She shouldn’t be a maiden for
too much longer and is good value to open her account here at the expense of OTHERWORDLY
(8), who fits a similar profile and should improve after an encouraging comeback 2nd. MASSIMO
MERIDIO (1) also has legitimate claims with progress expected following a pleasing debut 3rd.
BALTIC EMPRESS (10), SILHAM (9) and the returning LACY FASHION (12) complete the
shortlist.

1. LIYA CHOPE – Has benefitted from the addition of headgear and improved with each handicap
appearance – confirmed as much by winning a 2500m Nantes handicap on 22 May. A 2,5kg
penalty shouldn’t halt her momentum
2. VINO – Has demonstrated commendable consistency, especially in both handicap
appearances – finished 4th over 2500m on handicap debut bat Nancy last month and (4th) over
2500m at Argentan on 5 June. Keep safe
3. LUCY GALESTE – Acquitted herself well enough (6th of 13) in a 2400m Dieppe maiden on 14
June to suggest that she could have a role to play on handicap debut off her opening mark. Not
taken lightly
4. LA STRANEZZA – Unplaced in all 3 turf handicap appearances, including both comeback
outings this year – the latest (11th) over 2000m at Compiegne on 7 June. Headgear reached for in
the hope of sparking some improvement
5. AARON – Has made significant improvement in the claiming category recently, finishing 2nd
over 2500m at Evreux in April and 4th over 2400m at Moulins on 20 May. More needed pitched
into a handicap for the first time
6. E BASTA LA – Held his own in competitive maiden races/fields and shouldn’t be condemned
for his latest failure (10th) over 2000m at this venue on 11 May. Could have more to offer in the
handicaps, especially off this mark
7. ALGOT – Won a 2400m claiming race at Wissembourg in April and showed his form/well-being
by winning a Class 3 conditions race over 2500m at Nort-sur-Erdre on 2 June. Should have a role
to play on his handicap debut
8. FIRST DIVA – Last-start winner of a Class 3 conditions race over 2250m at Niort on 9 June.
Makes her handicap debut off a 1,5kg higher mark
9. L’INITIE – Improving colt whose competitiveness at this level off his current mark was
confirmed by a last-start 2nd in a 2500m handicap at Argentan on 5 June. Dark horse
10. BIRDSONG – Has improved considerably in two claiming races over 2400m at Dieppe
recently – finished 4th on 13 May and 3rd on 29 May. Ought to remain competitive on her
handicap debut
11. HEAREN – Showed her limitations at this level when 9th on her handicap debut over 2000m
at Lyon-Parilly, albeit off a 2kg higher mark. Could do better off a reduced mark
12. BIMBO – Impeded and brought down by a faller in her latest outing at Lyon-Parilly in a 2400m
claimer on 8 June. Has scope to improve
13. LADYSHOW – Experienced 21-start maiden with sound references in handicaps, including a
respectable 4th in her only start with headgear fitted. Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th over 2400m in
a Nantes handicap in 18 June
14. ROYAL SOPRANO – Improved to finish a career-best 3rd on his handicap debut over 2000m
at Compiegne on 7 June. Drawn in the widest starting stall which only complicates matters 15. ROSE BAY – Unplaced and soundly beaten in each of her 4 appearances, the latest (9th) on
handicap debut over 2500m at Argentan on 5 June. Others preferred
16. LORD MIESQUE – Consistent for the most part and seldom finishes far off the mark. Has
references in handicaps, including a last-start 6th over 2000m at Compigene on 7 June. For
lovers of outsiders
17. SAINTEFOY LAGRANDE – Unplaced in each of 3 appearances, the latest (9th) in a 2400m
claimer at Compiegne on 12 June. Hard to recommend
Summary: Improving LIYA CHOPE (1) opened her account by winning a 2500m Nantes
handicap last month and, on the evidence on that victory, seems capable of defying a 2,5kg
penalty by winning again. ALGOT (7) resumed winning ways at Nort-sur-Erdre earlier this month
and has the means to pose a threat on handicap debut off his current mark. BIRDSONG (10),
VINO (2) and E BASTA LA (6) are contenders for the remaining podium berth.

2. BRIGHT THUNDER – Finished 4th over 1600m at York in a Listed race on the 17th of May and
is selected to make a French winning debut. Win
3. ROSE BLOOM – Will need to build on latest 9th place at Parislongchamp in Group 1 company
in May, and can. Place value
4. FELICIA – She won at this track over 1600m on the 17th of May against much weaker and is
hard to fancy in this. Pass by
5. PARTIR – Won over 1600m last time out against weaker and has plenty to do for the win. Pass
by
6. WORDS OF PEACE – Has been racing in Germany and might find this opposition first up in
France tough. Happy to ignore
7. TEERAN – Ran well when 2nd over 1800m at Parislongchamp but in much weaker company.
An outsider that is hard to fancy for the win
8. SUNSHINE GIRL – Finished 2nd over 1800m in a Listed race in Germany and could make the
presence felt first up here
9. CETERA – Ran a great 2nd over 1600m at this course in Group 2 class on the 2nd of June and
has to be taken seriously. Bright chance
Summary: BRIGHT THUNDER (2) makes her local debut but has caught the attention at York
and Haydock before. She is selected to make a winning start to her French campaign.
RIBALTAGAIA (1) has been very competitive in some quality, competitive feature races recently
and has strong each way claims. CETERA (9) gets a top rider, has finished second in her last two
and can go one more. Serious chance. ROSE BLOOM (3) is the value suggestion for the quartet.

2. BATWAN – Fair 4th over 1000m last time and can progress on that. Include in the quartet
3. BERNEUIL – Finished 4th over 1000m at Parislongchamp on the 10th of September last year
and can place if not in need of this
4. MANOAMANO – Makes his local debut and will have plenty to do to threaten here today.

5. RAYSTEVE – Won well over 1200m at Chantilly in a Handicap and will find it tough to follow up
but can place
6. LESSLEPASSER – Hard to fancy based on recent 8th place over 1000m and far prefer others.

7. PRADARO – Posted a great 3rd over 1000m at this venue on the 2nd of June in Group 2 class.
Big chance
8. MGHEERA – Nearly won a Group 2 over 1000m at this track last time and should take a ton of
beating. Strong win
9. AMELLATA – Will need to build on latest 7th over 1200m in Listed class at this track on the
2nd of May. Hard to fancy for the win. Pass by
10. WOOTTON MELODY – Won penultimate at Lyon Parilly and finished 7th in a Listed after that.
More needed and far prefer others
11. THE FIXER – Will need to build on recent 10th finish at Parislongchamp over 1000m on the
12th of May and can. Place chance at best
Summary: MGHEERA (8) is already a three time winner from only 12 starts and is holding form
encouragingly. Her last run saw her in a Group 2 when finishing a cracking 2nd. Strong win
chance. VICIOUS HARRY (1) won a Listed event three races back and has caught the eye since
in two Group races. Strong each way chance. BERNEUIL (3) has the form to warrant serious
inclusion and can finish in the first three. PRADARO (7) is a must for quartet permutations.

up. Last win was over 1300m at Parislongchamp. Good chance
2. ABSOLUTE POWER – Finished 2nd over 2000m in a Handicap at this venue on the 16th of
June and is confidently selected to go one more
3. ALPAGE – Ignore last run, finished 4th at Compiegne before that in a Handicap and has a
good chance
4. BLACK TRACK – Has absolutely no form to recommend and would be an upset result if
winning. Unlikely
5. MAX VERST – Much better effort when 2nd over 1700m at Marseille Borely on the 7th of June
and can go one more. Serious chance
6. O’SSITOT – Current form has been on the alarming decline over various distances. Unlikely
winner. No
7. PREWITT – Finished 2nd over 1800m at Bratislava on the 2nd of this month. More needed for
the win and happy to ignore
8. DONN CLIFS – May need local run but could be worth following in the future, but, for today,
can be passed by
9. MANWHATAMAN – Hard to fancy on current form, finished 7th over 1600m in a weak claiming
race at Saint-Cloud and would be a shock winner
10. FUEGO DEL AMOR – Fair 5th over 1600m at Saint-Cloud in a competitive Handicap and can
get much closer now. Bright chance
11. CROWDFUNDING – Ignore last run, was a winner before that over 1700m at Saint-Brieuc and
is worth considering. Good chance
12. LUNALA – Cannot be fancied on current form as has to find many lengths to threaten. Pass
by
Summary: ABSOLUTE POWER (2) is holding form encouragingly after some horrific runs and
rates the one they all have to beat. His last run at this course was an attractive effort and is
therefore selected to win. CITY OF HOPE (1) comes into the race fresh off back to back wins and
has a huge chance of reeling off the hat trick. MAX VERST (5) ran a hugely improved race last
time and based on that alone is a must for all bets. FUEGO DEL AMOR (10) is never far adrift the
winners and has a strong place chance.
