Ought to be in the shake-up
3. ANTAIOS – Won a Class 3 handicap last time at Bordeaux Le Bouscat over 2400m on May 16th.

to recommend
6. MALKA – 5th last time in a Class 2 race at Parislongchamp over 3000m on April 18th. Hard to ignore

Summary: SILAWI (1) has not won for a while but has some solid form in strong races. His third two
runs ago in Saudi Arabia was in a stronger race than this and if emulating that run he can score. THE
TOP GATSBY (4) could be the one to give the selection the most to do. She is very genuine and finds
it hard to run a poor race. DEPUTY RULER (2) is also one to respect and has some consistent efforts
of late.

SELECTIONS
SILAWI (1) – THE TOP GATSBY (4) – DEPUTY RULER (2) – MALKA (6)

4. CHARLUS – Unbeaten in three runs so far, the latest win was in a Class 1 race at Bordeaux Le
Bouscat on May 4th over 1900m. Looks progressive and a live threat
5. SOLDIER’S GOLD – 3rd two runs ago at Doha(QAT) in a conditions race over 1600m on February
17th. Consider

Summary: SIBAYAN (1) was not beaten that far in a strong Group 3 race last time at Parislongchamp
in mid-April. Back down in class, he can score. CHARLUS (4) is a threat and seems to be getting better
with race experience. He is unbeaten in three runs so far and won a Class 1 race last time on his first
run on turf earlier this month. SOLDIER’S GOLD (5) has been on his travels, with some decent efforts
in competitive races in Doha( QATAR) of late. He makes up the shortlist.

held
6. BABAKOOL – Nice 4th last time over 2000m on April 18th, which came after a 2nd placed run on
debut in March. Player
7. ROYAD – Newcomer by Le Havre, looks the second string of the Rouget runners, judged on the
jockey bookings but warrants respect and is one to consider
8. EUGENE SMITH – Newcomer by Zoffany, the stable has three runners and this could be the least
fancied. Monitor the betting for clues
9. BOETTI – Newcomer by Saxon Warrior, the dam won over 1200m on her debut. Looks good on
paper and a bold run can be expected from a leading stable

Summary: BABAKOOL (6) has had two runs so far showing plenty of promise on both runs. A good
effort on debut when second and a nice run last time when fourth at Parislongchamp over 2000m in
mid-April. He gets the vote ahead of BOETTI (9) who has a taking profile and will be well forward for
his debut. ROYAD (7) is also trained by Jean Claude Rouget and is one to watch in the betting for any
support. FUTURE FATE (3) makes up the shortlist.

SELECTIONS

felt

9. AGADOR – 2nd last time was over 2000m in a Listed race on April 21st at Toulouse and won the
three races before that. Player

Summary: AGADOR (9) was a good second in a Listed race at Toulouse last time and will be hard to
beat in this. He can score from KOVROV (4) who arrives full of confidence after a win at La Teste in a
Class 1 race on March 23rd when last seen. DILAWAR (7) is also one that can be involved in the
business end after a credible third in the same race last time that AGADOR (9) was second in at
Toulouse. BOLTHOLE (1) should not be overlooked.

SELECTIONS
AGADOR (9) – KOVROV (4) – DILAWAR (7) – BOLTHOLE (1)

improving and looks ready to win

the mix
7. GRECIAN JEWEL – Newcomer by Iffraaj, the dam was a winner on debut. Has a taking profile and
is from a leading stable. Can make an impact on debut

Summary: The experience of SAILAWAYWITHME (5) might be the deciding factor in this maiden
event. She was a good second at Chantilly over 2000m and seems to be improving with race
experience. She may have the most to fear from the choice-bred newcomer GRECIAN JEWEL (7) who
is from a good stable that can get one to strike on their debuts. SPERA (6) has shown enough to warrant her being on the premises. AMADORA (3) heads the remainder.

SELECTIONS
SAILAWAYWITHME (5) – GRECIAN JEWEL (7) – SPERA (6) – AMADORA (3)

recommend

February 2nd. Pass over

Summary: HENRY THE LION (8) can get back in the winner’s enclosure after some consistently placed
efforts of late. He was a good third last time and can edge this from GIFT OF THE G (5) who is a bit in
and out but is capable of making an impact. LARIS (1) can not be overlooked despite having top weight to carry. NIKOLAJ (7) has some nice form at this track and is one that needs to be included in all of the place bets.

SELECTIONS
HENRY THE LION (8) – GIFT OF THE G (5) – LARIS (1) – NIKOLAJ (7)

more appeal

Summary: DETONATE (4) and CIARAN (3) come from the exact same form line and there was very
little to choose between them on debut. Both would have undoubtedly tightened up a lot and should
look to dominate the race. SWEET CHOP (1) ran in a useful race last time out and the form of that
contest could be strong enough to see him go very close. ALEKSINE (5) was a clear second best on
debut and could earn.

SELECTIONS
DETONATE (4) – CIARAN (3) – SWEET CHOP (1) – ALEKSINE (5)

them ready on debut. Follow the market
9. POSAFOLIE – Dam won once on debut over 1000m but this filly is likely to need the experience.
Follow the market

Summary: RARIFIED (6) ran behind what looks to potentially be a smart sort in the making and she
could be hard to oppose if building on her debut effort. GRISELDA (1) just found one too good on debut and she is expected to produce a bold effort. LA FERVEUR (8) is a filly that makes some appeal and could be of interest if the market is in her favor. ADDICTION GAGNANTE (3) ran a solid race on debut and will have tightened up so should be involved.

SELECTIONS

who should be there or thereabouts
14. GOLUPTIOUS – Finished 6th over 1600m at Parislongchamp in a Class 3 course qualifier on the
12th of May 2024. Others preferred

Summary: THIENE (11) was a fluent winner of her maiden and looks to have taken a huge step in the
right direction as she aims to follow up. Improving sort with a light weight makes her very dangerous.
EGIATEGIA (1) has been running in some competitive handicaps and in a race off this nature, she looks very capable. IGNOL (12) ran a cracker last time out and could certainly go one better with a bit of luck. BLUE RIBBON (10) returns off a layoff and if not in need of the outing, she can earn.

SELECTIONS

More needed on local debut

Summary: OUJDA (6) drops in class for this assignment and she looks to be a serious player. She
should step forward on her first outing for the year. DARK TROOPER (11) brings some solid
international form to the table and could make his presence felt in a big way. LE TABOU (10) has his
first start for the year and he is likely to be a huge threat. TORPEN (4) arrives in steady form and despite dropping in trip, he should be in the mix.

SELECTIONS
OUJDA (6) – DARK TROOPER (11) – LE TABOU (10) – TORPEN (4)

R11 – PRIX DE SAINT-GERMAIN-DE-LA-GRANGE – 1300m (a6f1/2) – TURF – Class 3 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 22,000

1. PINK VALENTINE – Won an 1100m handicap at Le Croisé-Laroche in April but has been less
competitive in both subsequent starts under a penalty. Only 8th in a 1400m handicap at
ParisLongchamp on 12 May
2. ELEGATO – Should not be hastily condemned after back-to-back unplaced efforts off a higher mark,
the latest (16th) over 1600m at Saint-Cloud on 1 May. Could do better with Théo Bachelot aboard
3. GIORGIANA – Ultra-consistent performer with sound references/form credentials, including a laststart 4th in a conditions race over 1000m at Dieppe on 13 May. Should have a role to play
4. ROYALTIES – Has finished in the first four in each of his last five appearances. Consistent
handicapper with solid references, the latest (4th) over 1400m at Compiegne on 16 April
5. PLANTHALYA – Never had free rein when only 7th over 1400m in a handicap at ParisLongchamp
on 16 May. Finished with lots of running in her – can make amends
6. ADDICTION DREAM – Soundly beaten in all 5 appearances this year, the latest (13th) over 1400m
at ParisLongchamp on 16 May. Can be ruled out
7. ELZADA – Has failed to build on the promise of her debut 4th at Chantilly last year – has finished
unplaced in all 4 of her subsequent outings, the latest (13th) over 1800m on PSF at Chantilly on 7 May
8. JASMIN DORE – Last-start winner of a 1200m handicap at Fontainebleau on 3 May. Carries a 3kg
penalty for that victory

much-needed comeback outing (12th) over 1400m at ParisLongchamp on 25 April
10. DANDY COOL – Hard-knocking handicapper with a 75% first-three success rate in four starts with
Marie Vélon aboard. Didn’t go unnoticed when 4th over 1400m at Le Lion-d’Angers on 9 May
11. ISEULT – Won on this course on very heavy ground in November last year. Capable of better than
a disappointing (10th) last start over 1200m at Fontainebleau on 3 May
12. HORTENSIA BASC – An 11-start maiden with just a solitary place to her name. Can be ruled out
on the evidence of her last start (13th) in a 1400m handicap at ParisLongchamp on 12 May
13. ROYALWOOD – Last-start winner of a 1000m conditions race at Dieppe on 13 May. Not without a
chance off unchanged mark
14. COLD PLAY – Seldom finishes far off the mark but has to improve to make his presence felt after a
disappointing (13th) last start over 1200m at Fontainebleau on 3 May. Capable of better

Summary: PLANTHALYA (5) would probably have played an active role in the finish were it not for a
troubled passage in the closing stages at Parislongchamp last time. She ran well enough (7th) on that
occasion to deserve another chance in a race of this nature. She will, however, have to thwart the likely challenges GIORGIANA (3) and ROYALTIES (4) whose form and competitiveness in handicaps at this level is undeniable. DANDY COOL (10) and JASMIN DORE (8) can grab a share of the minors.

SELECTIONS
PLANTHALYA (5) – GIORGIANA (3) – ROYALTIES (4) – DANDY COOL (10)

R12 – PRIX DE VILLIERS-SAINT-FREDERIC – 1300m (a6f1/2) – TURF – Class 3 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 20,000

May. Strong candidate for success

subsequent outings under his penalty. Well-beaten 16th over 1400m at ParisLongchamp on 28 April
4. UN PLUS UNE – Dead-heated for 2nd with JORDAN BAKER (2) in the benchmark race over 1400m
at ParisLongchamp recently (12 May). Will be a factor
5. SPACE QUAKE – Hard-knocking handicapper with sound references at this level, which includes a
respectable 5th over 1000m in a conditions race at Diepper on 13 May. Attractive outsider
6. TWIN BOY – Winner over 1400m in handicap at Le Lion-d’Angers on 9 May. Should hold his own
despite a 2,5kg penalty
7. TWO TWO TWO – Last-start winner of a 1200m handicap at Fontainebleau on 3 May. Ought to
remain competitive under a 3,5kg penalty
8. MADDOX – Seldom finishes far off the mark but has to improve to make his presence felt after
finishing 6th over 1200m in a handicap at Fontainebleau on 3 May. Outsider
9. SAKHARAH – Last-start winner of a 1400m handicap at Saint-Cloud on 19 April. Ought to remain

at Dax on 1 May. Place chance
11. GIN GEMBRE – Hard-knocking handicapper with sound references at this level and seldom far off
the mark, confirmed by his last start (6th) over 1400m at ParisLongchamp on 12 May. Dark horse
12. SWEET AS – Won a Le Croisé-Laroche handicap before proving his competitiveness off this 2kg
higher mark with a 5th in a 1200m Fontainebleau handicap on 3 May. Not taken lightly

in this race/company
14. URI – Finished a close-up 4th behind JORDAN BAKER (2) and UN PLUS UNE (4) in the reference
race over 1400m at ParisLongchamp on 12 May. Keep safe

Summary: JORDAN BAKER (2) and UN PLUS UNE (4) couldn’t be separated in a recent meeting at
Parislongchamp, where they shared 2nd in a 1400m handicap. Both have leading claims on that form
and could again find themselves fighting for victory. URI (14), just a length adrift of that pair in the same race, renews rivalry on identical weight terms so should be hot on their heels. SAKHARAH (9) and TWO TWO TWO (7) carry penalties for last-start successes but ought to remain competitive for the leading places. Good race!

R13 – PRIX DU MESNIL-VILLEMENT – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Class 4 Claiming Handicap – Flat – EUR € 16,000

1. PACO – Eased in grade after finishing a disappointing 10th in a 1600m handicap at Saint-Cloud on
14 May. Has only a place chance
2. ATANASIO – Represents a shrewd trainer, Joël Boisnard, and is likely to appreciate this shorter
distance. Should fare better than in his last start (7th) over 2100m at Senonnes on 14 April
3. SAMAPY – Versatile and relatively consistent performer but hasn’t looked the same as he did as a
three-year-old in all 4 comeback appearances this year, unplaced in each – the latest (13th) over 1600m
at Saint-Cloud on 1 May
4. PUERTO MADERO – Returned to form with an improved/encouraging 5th over 1600m at Saint-Cloud
on 6 May. Will be formidable at this level
5. FEEL EMOTION – Inconsistent but will be better suited by this return to turf and the step up to this
trip, having finished 9th in a 1500m PSF handicap at Mareille-Vivaux on 12 April. Keep safe
6. FILLE DU ROI – Unplaced and soundly beaten in all4 starts this year, seemingly gone off the boil –
made no impression (10th) in 1600m conditions race at Saint-Cloud on 6 May
7. ALAMSAR – Has achieved his best form/references on the PSF. Best watched for now after finishing
a well-beaten 13th in a claimer over 1600m at Fontainebleau on 3 May
8. VILLEMACHO – Consistent for the most part but has achieved his best references on PSF. Showed
his limitations on turf when only 14th over 1400m at ParisLongchamp on 16 May

Summary: PUERTO MADERO (4) boasts, arguably, the strongest form on offer as well as sound
references at this venue – in 6 starts here, he’s never finished worse than 5th; was 3rd in a Quinte+
handicap over the same track and trip as a three-year-old. He caught the eye when a close-up 5th in a
conditions race over course and distance earlier this month and, on the strength of that form, is likely
to prove too strong for this field in his first appearance at this level. FEEL EMOTION (5) possesses a
potent turn of foot and will make his presence felt late on. ATANASIO (2) and PACO (1) complete the
shortlist.
