Race Preview

R1 – PRIX CLAIRE ET JACQUES LECLERC – 2500m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Class 4 Claiming Handicap – Flat – EUR € 12,000

1. SIXUNION – Much improved of late and was a winner of a claimer last time out at Loudéac over
2850m on 21 April. Has been supplemented for this race so deserves some respect
2. SWEET BETSY – Very consistent in handicaps this year and was runner-up last time out over
this track and trip on 5 May. Be right there at the finish once again
3. LOVEBIRD – In good form and was runner-up last time out in a Conditions race at Wissembourg
over 2400m on 1 May. Can contest the finish again
4. SCHERWOOD – Struggling to regain best form and was 6th last time out in a handicap over this
course and distance on 5 May. More is needed to win this race
5. SAINT AMOUR – Has not shown much in four starts and was 8th last time out in a handicap at
ParisLongchamp over 2100m on 16 May. Others are preferred
6. VISIONARY DREAMER – Disappointing of late and was 7th last time out in a handicap at
Strasbourg over 3000m on 8 May. Likes this track and is not out of it
7. GOODNIGHT BABY – Disappointing form this year and was 12th last time out in a handicap at
Strasbourg over 3000m on 8 May. Supplemented for this race so could surprise

Summary: LOVEBIRD (3) is in very good form and looks very likely to fight out the finish again.
The supplemented SIXUNION (1) is much improved and can be involved with the finish yet again.
SWEET BETSY (2) and VISIONARY DREAMER (6) both like this course and hold winning hopes.
Even though this a small field we should be treated to a competitive finish.

R2 – PRIX DE NEUVES-MAISONS – 2500m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 17,000

1. VINO – Fair form so far and was fourth last time out in a Conditions race at Marseille-Borély over
2000m on 3 May. Big chance trying further on handicap debut
2. LEXOVIENNE – Much improved of late and was third last time out in a Conditions race at Le
Croisé-Laroche over this distance on 19 May. Should fight out the finish
3. BIMBO – Showed improvement when stepped up in trip to be runner-up in a claimer at Dieppe
on 13 May. Supplemented for this race so deserves some respect
4. BELHAD JELOIS – Yet to win and was 6th last time out in a handicap at this course over 2000m
on 5 May. Could like this longer distance and has a place chance
5. LIYA CHOPE – Showed some improvement when fourth in a handicap over this distance last
time out at Evreux on 24 April. Can do even better this time around
6. RUE SURCOUF – Unreliable but was not disgraced when fourth last time out in a conditions race
at Senonnes-Pouancé over 2900m on 14 April. Can contest the finish trying a handicap
7. CORALBA – Consistent this year and was runner-up last time out in a Conditions race at
Carcassonne over 2650m on 1 May. Can go one better on handicap debut

Summary: LEXOVIENNE (2) has been much improved of late and gets a narrow vote to score.
VINO (1) has been fair, without winning so far but could go close stepped up in distance on
handicap debut. The supplemented BIMBO (3) showed improvement when trying further last time
out so could go one better. LIYA CHOPE (5) is improving and is another that has to be respected.

R3 – PRIX LEONARD ERMANN – 2500m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Class 3 Race – Flat – EUR € 15,000

1. SIGRUNE – Disappointing last run when 6th last time out in a Conditions race at Lyon-Parilly
over 2000m on 27 April. Capable of better and is not out of it
2. KAR VERT – Disappointing of late and was 7th last time out in a Conditions race at Saint-Cloud
over 2100m on 1 May. Capable of better but others are preferred
3. LEMPIRA – A winner of two of his last three starts including last time out in a handicap at Chantilly
over 2700m on 21 November. Returns from a break but deserves the utmost respect
4. POSEIDONOS – May have found the trip too far when 6th last time out in a Conditions race at
ParisLongcham over 3000m on 18 April. Has over this track and trip and can bounce back to score
5. EASTERN STAR – Disappointing last run when 9th last time out in a Conditions race at LyonParilly over 2000m on 27 April. Better this distance and is not out of it
6. ADELIADE – Her only win was in 2022 but she was not disgraced when 5th last time out in
Conditions race at Saint-Cloud over 2000m on 5 April.
7. NASSANDRES – Did not show her best in her final start of 2023 when 7th in a Conditions race
at ParisLongchamp over 2800m on 7 September. Had good form before that and can win returning
from a break
8. GAMBIA SUN – Unreliable but was not disgraced when runner-up in a Conditions race last time
out at Limoges over 2400m on 5 May. Might play a minor role

Summary: NASSANDRES (7) returns from a break but is best on the ratings and could score if fit
and well. ADELIADE (6) was not disgraced when 5th last time out but looks distance-suited and
can contest the finish. LEMPIRA (3) was at the top of his game before his break but does deserve
the utmost respect. POSEIDONOS (4) has won over this course and distance and is not out of it.

R4 – PRIX DE LA PORTE HERE – 2000m (a1m1/4) – TURF – Maiden Race – Flat – EUR € 21,000

1. TWO O’CLOCK JUMP – Has not shown much in two starts and was 9th last time out in a
Conditions race at Le Croisé-Laroche over 1800m on 20 April. Capable of improvement but others
are preferred
2. CANDYMAN – Not disgraced when fourth last time out in a handicap over this track and trip on
5 May. Can contest the finish again
3. ALVAR – Runner-up on debut in a Claimer at Chantilly over 1900m on 7 May. Tries the turf but
can contest the finish again
4. LET’S GO GIRL – Well beaten in both starts and was tenth last time out in a Conditions race at
Craon on 2 September. Can improve returning from a break
5. BALZANE DEUX – Unreliable but was not disgraced when 5th last time out in a Conditions race
over this course and distance on 29 October. Could make the frame returning from a break
6. LEYLA CHOPE – Has only been modest so far and was 6th last time out in a claimer at
Strasbourg over 1400m on 22 March. Tries a lot further and can improve
7. BEG MEIL – Did not show much when 11th on debut in a Conditions race at Strasbourg over
this distance on 22 April. Can improve but others are preferred
8. COSMIC FRONT – Not disgraced when 5th on debut in a Conditions race at ParisLongchamp
over 1850m on 5 May. Should improve and fight out the finish
9. GAUD – A three-year-old gelding by Anodin out of Polissonne who is making his debut. Watch
the betting
10. DONAMAY – A three-year-old filly by Areion out of Djumay who is making her debut. Watch the
betting

Summary: ALVAR (3) was not disgraced when runner-up in a claimer last time out and can go one
better but there are many in with a winning chance. COSMIC FRONT (8) should have learnt from
his debut and looks likely to do a lot better this time around. DONAMAY (10) makes her debut bit
is well-bred and could be a lively danger. CANDYMAN (2) ran well in a handicap last time out and
is capable of scoring.

R5 – PRIX DE PONT-A-MOUSSON – 2000m (a1m1/4) – TURF – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 16,000

1. PARK AVENUE – Disappointing form this year and was 12th last time out in a handicap at SaintCloud over 2400m on 12 April. Capable of a surprise this distance
2. RED NUREYEV – Needed the last run when tenth in a Conditions race at Fontainebleau over
1800m on 3 May. Fitter this time and could improve but others are preferred
3. AERION – Kept to the PSF of late and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Chantilly over 1900m
on 26 April. Seems better on the turf and deserves respect
4. LOVELY TESS – Yet to win a race and was 8th last time out in a handicap at Strasbourg over
this distance on 22 April. Did better before that and can contest the finish
5. AS DE JUILLEY – Returned from a break in fine form and was a winner of a handicap at
Strasbourg over this distance on 22 April. Can follow up carrying a 2.5kg penalty
6. MAKENO – Disappointing form of late and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Wissembourg
over 1350m on 1 May. Capable of better and could play a minor role
7. BREMONTIER – Has been kept to the PSF for some time now and struggled last time out in a
handicap at Deauville over 1900m on 9 April. Can surprise back on the turf
8. MILAD’ID – Returns from a lengthy break and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Chantilly
over 2100m on 17 December 2022. Others are preferred
9. WHERE CHOP – Disappointing last run when 11th in a handicap at Saint-Cloud over 2500m on
6 May. Distance suited and could upset
10. CORAL SLIPPER – Has struggled twice since winning and was tenth in a handicap last time
out at Chantilly over 1600m on 29 April. Did win over this course and distance last month and can
upset

Summary: AS DE JUILLEY (5) looked better than ever when returning from a break and scoring
at Strasbourg. The 2.50kg penalty he carries for that win may not be enough to anchor him.
AERION (3) seems better on the grass so should contest the finish. LOVELY TESS (4) did better
in her penultimate start and could be the surprise package of the race. PARK AVENUE (1) has
been disappointing this year but could improve.

R6 – PRIX DE LA PLACE STANISLAS – 2000m (a1m1/4) – TURF – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 18,000

1. LET THERE BE ROCK – Has struggled in his last two handicaps but was a winner last time out
in a Conditions race at Lyon-Parilly over this distance on 9 May. Not out of it
2. MELBORA – Has lost her way and was 8th last time out in a handicap at ParisLongchamp over
2100m on 5 May. Needs major improvement to win
3. MOONFLIGHT – Returned to his best with a handicap win last time out over this track and trip
on 5 May. Carries a 2.50kg penalty for that win and could make the frame
4. SEVEN O SEVEN – Always gives of his best and was 5th last time out in Germany. Needs to
find a few lengths to beat these rivals
5. KALIFE ALAPLACE – Improving and was a winner last time out in a handicap at Lyon-Parilly
over this distance on 27 April. Carries a 2kg penalty but can follow up
6. SUPER ZOOM – Unreliable of late and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Strasbourg over
this distance. Capable of an upset on best form
7. TWILIGHT – Has done best in claimers and was 7th last time out at Evreux over 1800m on 24
April. Needed that run and is capable of improvement but others are preferred
8. MASTARS – Has improved of late and was victorious in a Claimer last time out at Loudéac over
2200m on 21 April. Can follow up
9. FITZCARRALDO – Seems to prefer the PSF these days and was well beaten last time out in a
handicap at Strasbourg over this distance on 22 April. Best watched for now
10. ANTRIM – On a long losing run but is knocking hard at the door and was runner-up last time
out in a Conditions race at Strasbourg over this distance on 8 May. Be right there at the finish
11. JOLI COUP – Has struggled this year and was well beaten last time out in a handicap at
ParisLongchamp over 2100m on 9 May. Others are much preferred

Summary: MASTARS (8) has improved of late and can follow up on a good win in a claimer last
time out. A confident pick for the lucky last race. KALIFE ALAPLACE (5) is improving and carries
a 2kg penalty for his win last time out. LET THERE BE ROCK (1) has disappointed twice in a row
but is distance-suited and deserves respect. ANTRIM (10) is in good form and should be right there
at the finish.
