1. SAUVIAC – Would be a shock winner based on form and can be ignored from all bets
2. L’INITIE – Finished 5th in a competitive Handicap over 2500m at Evreux on the 24th of last
month. Strong each way chance
3. AODHA – Comes into the race fresh off a victory at La-Roche-Posay over 2400m on the 1st of
this month. No surprise if following up
4. LA DOLOISE – Won penultimate, finished 5th over 2100m at Senonnes after that. Include in
larger quartet perms
5. LAYDIVA – Lightly raced, finished 5th over 2400m at Nantes on the 18th of April and can go
close. Has winning claims
6. TONIGHT – Finished 6th over 2500m at Evreux on the 24th of last month and can get closer but
prefer others for the win
7. REVALITE – Will need to progress on latest 7th over 1900m in a Handicap at Chantilly to feature
here. Unlikely
Summary: L’INITIE (2) is lightly raced and has plenty of scope for improvement. He finished 5th
last time and can go very close. Strong each way chance. LAYDIVA (5) placed 5th last time over
2400m at Nantes and can get much closer. It would come as no shock if she were to win. AODHA
(3) comes in to the race fresh off a victory at La-Roche-Posay and can follow up. TONIGHT (6) is
a natural inclusion for most bets, especially the quartet.

2. INDIAN SOUL – Batting to regain best form and was 6th last time out in a Conditions race at
Sablé-sur-Sarthe over 2850m on 28 April. Capable of better and has a winning chance
3. ALABAA – He has struggled this year and he was 5th last time out in a claimer at Loudéac over
2850m on 21 April. Has won a handicap off a much higher mark so is capable of an upset
4. KONIG CHOUCHEN – Moderate form again this year and was 6th last time out in a handicap at
this course over 1950m on 27 April. Others are much preferred
5. UCHRONIE – Returned from a break for a first success in a Conditions race at Sablé-sur-Sarthe
over 2850m on 28 April. Tackles stronger this time but can contest the finish
6. FLIGHT DE JUILLEY – Batting to regain best form and was 7th last time out in a handicap at
Nantes over 2400m on 18 April. Others are preferred
7. MY DARLING – Yet to win a race but is in good heart and was fourth last time out in a handicap
at Fontainebleau over 3000m on 13 April. Place chance in this line-up
8. UM ELNADIM – On a very long losing run and was 7th last time out in a Conditions race at
Sablé-sur-Sarthe over 2850m on 28 April. Capable of better and could earn some minor money
9. FIVE BY FIVE – Showed vast improvement back on the grass when third last time out in a
handicap at Nantes over 2400m on 18 April. Can break a very long losing run
10. LEE DRAGON – Unreliable and was 12th last time out in a handicap at Pornichet-La Baule
over 3100m on 16 November. Likely to need this run and others are preferred
11. MOUSSON D’EVAILLE – Has really struggled again this year and was well beaten last time
out in a handicap at Le Mans over 3200m on 11 March. Very unlikely to win
12. HUDSON PARK – Has proven in need of both starts since returning from a lengthy break and
was 5th last time out in a Claimer at Loudéac over 2200m on 21 April. Others are preferred
Summary: A very open-looking handicap. MER NOIR (1) ran well last time out at this course and
could do better this longer distance. INDIAN SOUL (2) is capable of better than the last run and
can contest the finish. UCHRONIE (5) won well in her only start of this year and could have more
to offer. FIVE BY FIVE (9) likes it back on the the turf last time out and could be right there in the
mix once again.

3. BOB LA BIDOUILLE – Holding form well and was fourth last time out in a handicap at
ParisLongchamp over 2800m on 28 April. Supplemented and should run a decent race
4. KING MOTIF – His last win was in a claimer last year but he is in good form and was runner-up
last time out in a handicap at Nantes over 2400m on 18 April. Be right there at the finish
5. ARGYRON – Moderate form this year and was fourth last time out in a claimer at Loudéac over
2850m on 21 April. Prefers the PSF and others are preferred
6. GARRY D’AZE – Disappointing of late and was 7th last time out in a handicap at Nantes over
2400m on 18 April. Capable of better and could play a minor role
7. SPIRIT OF DANCE – Unreliable and was 5th last time out in a handicap at Nantes over 3700m
on 6 May. Better over further but could pop up in a place
8. STEP MORNING – At the top of his game and was runner-up last time out in a handicap at
ParisLongchamp over 2800m on 28 April. Can go one better this time
9. MONTE CINTO – Very unreliable and was 6th last time out in a handicap at Fontainebleau over
3000m on 13 April. Won his penultimate start and is not out of it
10. MARSHALL LESSING – Nearly a year since last win and was 6th last time out in a handicap
at Pornichet-La Baule over 3100m on 27 March. Kept to the PSF of late and others are preferred
11. PRESCY LIIA – Showed some improvement when fourth last time out in a handicap at Nantest
over 2400m on 18 April. Could play a minor role
12. RESPLENDOR – Best over jumps and was 5th in a Conditions hurdle at Senonnes-Pouancé
over 3800m on 5 August. Likely to need this run and others are preferred
13. FRANY ROSAY – Non partante
Summary: STEP MORNING (8) is in very good shape and only found one better last time around
and looks the one they all have to beat. PLATEADO (2) has been disappointing of late but has
been supplemented for this race so deserves respect. KING MOTIF (4) is in good form and can
contest the finish again. BOB LA BIDOUILLE (3) is holding form and has also been supplemented
so deserves some respect.

1. STAR FROM THE EAST – Consistent for the most part with sound references/form credentials,
including a last-start 2nd in a 1600m handicap at Lyon-Parilly on 20 April. Place chance
2. WASSERFARBE – Capable colt with sound/consistent form references. Didn’t go unnoticed
when finishing 5th over 1400m in his first start on turf at Le Mans on 23 April
3. TREMAINE – Absent since finishing 2nd in a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 15 November
but has the means to play a leading role on his reappearance over this shorter distance. Keep safe
4. GOLUPTIOUS – Finished 3rd in consecutive 1300m conditions events on PSF before showing
his limitations (12th of 13) in a handicap over 1300m at this venue on 18 April. Others preferred
5. GRETZKY – Consistent colt on both surfaces with sound references/form credentials, which
include an encouraging 4th over 1600m at Lyon-Parilly on 20 April in his first start on turf. Not taken
lightly
6. ATLANTIC WAYS – Showed ability as a two-year-old and didn’t go unnoticed when running on
well to finish just out of the money (6th) over 1400m at Le Mans on 23 April. On that evidence,
should appreciate the extra 200m
7. IBERIA – Only going late when finishing 7th in a 1300m handicap at this venue on 18 April but
will, on that evidence, be better suited to this extended trip. Dark horse
8. NICE DREAM – performed consistently in four conditions races last year but made no impression
(13th) when pitched into a 1200m handicap at Fontainebleau on 7 November. Best watched for
now
9. MAYWE – Revealed considerable promise last season in three starts as a two-year-old,
confirmed as much with a good 4th in a 1700m Listed race at Marseille-Borely when last seen on
23 October. Respected on her reappearance
10. MA MOME – Experienced filly whose competitiveness at this level is beyond doubt. Acquitted
herself well when finishing 6th in a 1600m Quinte+ handicap at Saint-Cloud on 1 May
Summary: ATLANTIC WAYS (6) was an eye-catcher despite finishing unplaced (6th) last time.
She ran on well from the tail-end of the field to finish just out of the money over 1400m at Le Mans
last time and is good value to land the opener with the step up to this trip expected to unlock
improvement. TREMAINE (3) revealed considerable promise as a two-year-old last season and,
with scope to improve on his reappearance, could fight for victory. GRETZKY (5), whose form and
experience will stand him in good stead, and IBERIA (7), after two much-needed comeback outings,
are others worth a mention in this opening event.

dangerous off her current mark
2. STORMY AIR – Unreliable and is best watched for now after a disappointing 10th in a 2100m
PSF claimer at Pornichet on 27 March
3. SIRIUS SLEW – Inconsistent but is more effective on good/firm ground, so should do better than
his latest effort (13th) in a handicap over track and trip on 28 April
4. SADALBARI – Returns to French soil with blinkers fitted after finishing 3rd in a 1950m conditions
race in Germany back in mid-February
5. PLANTHALYA – Inconsistent and needs to confirm the improvement of her last-start 3rd in a
course-and-distance handicap on 25 April to stake a claim
6. GO LOVE – Unreliable and is best watched for now after a disappointing 10th in a 1900m PSF
handicap at Chantilly on 26 April
7. IRISHKAMAYA – Runner-up in a 1400m handicap at Moulins on 14 April. Must confirm that
form/improvement to have a say
8. MY FLINDERS – Seldom far off the mark but has no more than a minor role to play here after
finishing 6th in a handicap over 1800m at Fontainebleau on 3 May
9. CITY OF HOPE – Inconsistent and will need to improve to trouble the judge here after finishing
7th in a 1600m handicap at Saint-Cloud on 1 May
10. HORTENSIA BASC – Ran on well to finish 4th in a 1200m handicap at Fontainebleau on 3 May
so ought to appreciate this longer distance
11. BENNY BEN – Caught the eye despite finishing unplaced (8th) on his handicap debut over
track and trip on 25 April. Ought to improve
12. RED NUDE ROUGE – Won a course-and-distance handicap on 25 April and carries a 2,5kg
penalty for that win. Has more to do
13. MON SIOUX – Out of sorts and unlikely to trouble the judge after finishing 10th in a 1600m PSF
handicap at Chantilly on 29 April
14. EL BNOUD – Last-start winner of a 1350m Wissembourg handicap on 1 May. Carries a 1,5kg
penalty for that victory
15. NOBLE AMBER – Last-start winner of a 1200m handicap at Marseille-Borely on 24 May. Ought
to remain competitive under a penalty
16. KHABESA – Has dropped steadily in the weights/ratings for several months so ought to
resurface sooner rather than later. Didn’t go unnoticed when 6th in a handicap over 1600m at LyonParilly on 27 April
17. HAPPY HUNTER – Inconsistent and will need to improve to trouble the judge here after finishing
7th in a 1600m handicap at Saint-Cloud on 1 May
Summary: BENNY BEN (11), despite finishing 8th, ran with merit on his handicap debut and is
worth a speculative bet in a handicap of this nature. He gets the nod ahead of KHABESA (16),
regaining momentum and effective on firmer ground, and HORTENSIA BASC (10) whose
competitiveness off her current (reduced) mark was proven with a last-start 4th at Fontainebleau.
Lorette Gallo’s 3,5kg allowance will aid the cause of PINK VALENTINE (1) who also has the means
to play a leading role.

1. OLYMPIC MESSAGE – Convincing winner of a 2000m PSF Quinté+ at Cagnes on 17 February
and ran a better race than his finishing position (9th) suggests on 6 April – in an 1800m Class 1 at
Lyon-La Soie. Not taken lightly
2. LORCAN – Runner-up in a 1900m PSF Quinte+ on 14 March but failed to confirm that
form/improvement from a wide No 16 stall when only 13th over 1900m in a Quinte+ on PSF at
Deauville on 9 April. Can do better
3. BEVAN – Narrowly beaten in a 1900m Quinte+ handicap at Bordeaux on 22 April. Should once
again play a leading role
4. DALMANNDI – Unexposed four-year-old gelding who finished 5th on his reappearance in a
2400m Lyon-Parilly conditions race on 17 March. Open to improvement on his handicap debut
5. I’M A BELIEVER – Wasn’t beaten far when finishing 7th in a 1900m Quinté+ on the PSF at
Deauville on 9 April. Dark horse
6. MY FANCY – Gradually regaining momentum and confirmed as much by finishing 3rd in a 1900m
Quinté+ on the PSF at Deauville on 9 April. Will be a factor
7. MR CASSIOPE – Proved he remains competitive under a 3kg penalty by finishing 5th in a 1900m
Quinte+ handicap at Bordeaux on 22 April. Keep safe
8. KHOCHENKO – Was unable to sustain his challenge when only finishing 10th in a 1900m
Quinté+ on the PSF at Deauville on 9 April. Outsider
9. NEPALAIS – Didn’t go unnoticed when finishing 6th of 15 in a 1900m Quinté+ on the PSF at
Deauville on 9 April. Can get into the picture
10. GET SET – Absent since finishing 15th in a 2500m PSF Quinte+ on 26 January at Deauville.
Best watched for now
11. CANNJAYAR – Revealed potential by winning on debut at Fontainebleau last year but finished
unplaced in 3 subsequent starts. Best watched for now on his debut in the handicaps
12. CENTRAL PARK WEST – Consistent performer with sound references at this level, albeit on
PSF. Wasn’t alt all disgraced when 6th in a 1600m PSF handicap at Chantilly on 2 May
13. ANCTOT – Finished 2nd in a handicap on his only visit to ParisLongchamp. Showed his form
and well-being last time when finishing 4th in a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 9 April
14. NOSDARGENT – Consistent performer with sound references at this level, albeit on PSF. Didn’t
go unnoticed when 6th over 1900m in a handicap at Deauville on 9 April
15. HOLLYWOOD AFRICANS – Last-start winner of a 2400m conditions race at Saint-Cloud on 1
May. Returns to the handicaps with a 1kg penalty
16. SEA BREAKER – Inconsistent filly unplaced in consecutive Quinte+ handicaps against females
only – the latest over 2150m at this venue on 25 April. Others preferred
Summary: BEVAN (3) only narrowly missed out on victory in a similar contest at Bordeaux last
month but is good value to go one better with a repeat of that performance. MY FANCY (6), who
returned to form with an excellent 3rd in his second run after gelding, and OLYMPIC MESSAGE
(1), whose last start in a Class 1 conditions race is best forgotten, are likely to pose a threat.
LORCAN (2), however, is favourably positioned in the starting stall and isn’t incapable of playing a
leading role either. Last-start scorer MR CASSIOPE (7), despite a 3kg penalty, ought to remain
competitive too. DALMANNDI (4), NEPALAIS (9) and I’M A BELIEVER (5) are potential placegetters.

9. ROCK’N SWING – Unbeaten Camelot filly whose winning reappearance on 18 April was over
this course and distance. Can get into the picture
10. CHIC COLOMBINE – An impressive winner of the Listed Prix La Camargo over 1600m at SaintCloud on 16 March. Can have a say
11. TULIPA CHOPE – Caught the eye when 3rd on her reappearance in the Group III Prix de la
Grotte over course and distance on 14 April. Dark horse
12. KATHMANDU – Finished 3rd in the Group III Nell Gwyn Stakes over 1400m at Newmarket on
17 April. Has earning potential
13. FOLGARIA – Undefeated in six outings and beat subsequent Group I 1000 Guineas winner
Elmalak when winning on her reappearance in the Group III Fred Darling Stakes over 1400m at
Newbury on 20 April
14. CONTENT – Finished a commendable 4th in the 1600m Group I Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies
at Santa Anita in November
15. LOUISE PROCTER – Unbeaten Siyouni filly whose limits are unknown. Was impressive when
winning on her reappearance over 1400m on the PSF at Chantilly on 28 March
Summary: FOLGARIA (13) is undefeated after six outings and will be all the rage in this Group I
Poule d’Essai renewal, especially having beaten the subsequent 1000 Guineas winner when taking
out the Fred Darling Stakes on her reappearance at Newbury last month. ROMANTIC STYLE (8),
supplemented to run in this race, could give the selection most to fear, although CONTENT (14)
also has the form and experience to fight for Group I honours. Unbeaten LOUISE PROCTER (15),
whose limits are unknown, and VESPERTILIO (2) complete the shortlist. A must-watch contest!

2. ROSHVAR – Confirmed the promise of his debut 2nd with a 1300m PSF success at Deauville in
November and caught the eye on his reappearance when 2nd over track and trip behind
SUPERCOOLED (8). Attractive outsider
3. ORNE – Experienced colt with sound references/form credentials, including a 2nd in the Group
II Al Rayyan Mile at Doha in his last turf appearance on 17 February. Runner-up over 1600m on
PSF at Chelmsford on 6 April
4. BEAUVATIER – Classy colt who finished 3rd in a 1600m Group I as a two-year-old after winning
his first four starts. Caught the eye when 2nd behind RAMADAN (5) on his reappearance in a
1400m Group III here on 14 April. Keep safe
5. RAMADAN – Undefeated in two outings this year, winning a 1600m Listed race at Saint-Cloud
on his reappearance before scoring at Group III level over track and trip on 14 April. Will be a factor
6. METROPOLITAN – Zarak colt, unbeaten in two starts last year. Didn’t go unnoticed when
finishing 5th on his reappearance in a course-and-distance Group III won by SUPERCOOLED (8)
on 14 April
7. DANCING GEMINI – Won a Listed race as a two-year-old in 2023 and wasn’t beaten a long way
when finishing 5th in the Group I Futurity Trophy Stakes over 1600m at Doncaster on 28 October
when last seen. Open to improvement
8. SUPERCOOLED – Revealed considerable means in two starts last year and has confirmed that
promise in both 2024 outings, winning 1 Class 1 conditions race over track and trip on 18 April. Not
taken lightly, even at Group I level
9. PUCHKINE – Won four consecutive outings before losing his unbeaten record (2nd) in a 1600m
Listed race at Toulouse on 21 April. Supplemented at a significant cost, so warrants respect
10. HENRY LONGFELLOW – Undefeated, Group I winning two-year-old of the 1400m National
Stakes in Ireland (Currgah, 10 September). Candidate for success on his reappearance
11. EBEN SHADDAD – Another, like BEAUVATIER (4), who hasn’t finished worse than 3rd. Made
an encouraging reappearance (2nd) in the 1600m Group III Craven Stakes at Newmarket on 18
April – dangerous to discount
12. ALCANTOR – Won 3 of his first 4 starts before finishing 2nd in the 1600m Group I Critérium
International at Saint-Cloud as a two-year-old. Didn’t go unnoticed (6th) in the 1600m Group III
Craven Stakes at Newmarket on 18 April
13. DIEGO VELAZQUEZ – Highly rated Frankel colt whose chances cannot be ignored, especially
on the evidence of his victory in the 1600m Group II Champion Juvenile Stakes at Leopardstown
on 9 September. Dark horse
Summary: Undefeated HENRY LONGFELLOW (10) could gain compensation for his connections
after the disappointment of the stable’s star colt City Of Troy, who fluffed his lines in the 2000
Guineas at Newmarket recently. The former was impressive in winning all three starts as a twoyear-old last season and is worth following on his reappearance with improvement likely.
RAMADAN (5), winner of the Prix de Fontainebleau, and last-start Prix Machado scorer
SUPERCOOLED (8) are, however, likely to trouble Ballydoyle’s colt in the fight for Group I
supremacy. KERAN (1), runner-up in the Prix Djebel, also deserves a mention and is not to be
underestimated either. High-class renewal!
