Race 5 – 2 EASY SNIP

Well supported into favouritism at this track and distance three weeks ago, but could only manage fifth which was better than it reads. He was held up from the 300m until passing the 250m before closing off well late.

What is noteworthy, however, is that the horse was found to have its tongue over the bit. He deserves another chance this week, based on his prior encouraging efforts, and he should present greater odds compared to last start.

Race 6 – 3 FIGHTING MACHINE

He was an impressive winner two starts ago but was unable to back it up, checking in 4.75 lengths into 10th over 1400m at Sha Tin. However, on that occasion, he had excuses in run while there were clear vet excuses as he pulled up with an irregular heart rhythm.

Given 3.5 months to get over that, he has trialled well on two occasions ahead of his return for the Pierre Ng yard.

Race 1 – 2 TACTICAL COMMAND

He races on the quick seven-day turnaround after being used up on the pace over 1000m at this track, fading late into eighth after the early hard work took its toll. Look for a change of tactics here, where he will likely be ridden quieter, and expect a better run.

Race 8 – 1 GALAXY WITNESS

While he hasn’t seen the winner’s enclosure for two years now, he is well-placed on the downgrade into Class 3, boasting two wins from three attempts at this level. His last appearance in this class was three starts ago when he closed strongly to finish fifth after a slow start.
