Summary: PRIVATE JOKE (6) showed some promise on debut and should do a lot better stepping up
to this distance. SHOLTO (1) returns from a break after a fair debut on the PSF and should be a serious
threat. PERFECT HEDGE (8) and DSCHINGIS RANGER (7) are both making their debut but catch the
eye and are clearly not out of it if ready for this.

SELECTIONS

SELECTIONS
MOTORSPORT (4) – GORBI (9) – MAGNETIQUE (1) – SWEET BETSY (10)

R3 – PRIX DE PRECY – 2400m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Class 2 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 53,000

1. KOSAKENZIPFEL – Lightly raced and improving sort with sound references/form credentials,

2nd in a 2500m PSF Quinte+ at Deauville on 5 December
2. MANDALORIAN – Progressive, lightly raced colt with impressive/consistent form in competitive
conditions races. Makes his handicap debut having finished an encouraging 4th over 3000m at
Fontainebleau on 15 March – keep safe
3. SAINT ETIENNE – Consistent and versatile colt with sound references at this level on both surfaces,
including a last-start 6th in a 1900m Quinte+ handicap on the PSF at this venue on 14 March. As a son
of Le Havre, should be effective on heavy ground
4. BARBATE – Lightly raced Frankel colt out of a Group II winner. Won on his reappearance on heavy
ground over 2200m at Fontainebleau on 2 March after blotting his copybook (11th) on handicap debut.
Open to improvement
5. WOOT CITY – Caught the eye when finishing 3rd in a 2400m Quinte+ on heavy ground at SaintCloud on 16 March. Rarely disappoints with blinkers fitted and ought to acquit himself competitively in
his first Chantilly appearance
6. GAIDAR – Has performed consistently in four conditions races after a six-month absence and didn’t
wasn’t disgraced when 4th on heavy ground over 2200m reverting to the turf at Fontainebleau on 2
March. Back in a handicap off a reduced mark
7. KAR VERT – Inconsistent handicapper who was a wide-margin (15 lengths) winner over 2000m on
very heavy ground at Marseille-Borély in February. Struggled (12th) under a penalty in a 2000m Quinte+ at Saint-Cloud on 7 March
8. FLATTEN THE CURVE – Consistent, hard-knocking handicapper with sound references/form
credentials in the Quinte+ category on both surfaces. Finished 4th in a 3000m handicap on heavy
ground at Fontainebleau on 2 March
9. ANCTOT – Absent since finishing 6th in a 2500m Quinté+ on PSF at Deauville on 26 January. Lacks
references on heavy ground, so is best watched for now
10. LE BUGISTE – Won a 2900m Clairefontaine maiden in October and didn’t go unnoticed when
finishing 5th over 2200m at Fontainebleau on his reappearance on 2 March. Open to improvement on
his handicap debut
11. MYKISS – Won a 3000m Quinte+ at Strasbourg off a higher mark last year but lost form under a
resultant penalty. Has dropped to a career-low mark as a result and did finish an encouraging 3rd on
his reappearance in a 2700m PSF claimer at this venue on 29 February
12. HOLLYWOOD AFRICANS – Finished a surprising 2nd in a 2500m Quinte+ on the PSF at Deauville
in January but failed to confirm that form/improvement in subsequent outings, one on either surface
(finished 8th in both) – the latest on heavy ground at Saint-Cloud over 2000m                                13. WURFGEIST – Consistent performer who wasn’t winning out of turn when opening his account on
the PSF over 2700m at this venue refitted with blinkers on 23 November. Reverts to turf on his
reappearance on his handicap debut
14. SWEET FORTUNE – Improved in two starts over 3000m at Angers last year, winning in September
and finishing 2nd last time out on 27 October. One to to note on her reappearance
15. SNUGGLES – Finished 4th at long odds in a 2400m Quinte+ on very heavy ground at Saint-Cloud
on 16 March. Appreciates these conditions and should easily find the lead, so is dangerous to dismiss
– confirmation required
16. GOLDYWAY DE SAON – Left Lucie Pontoir to join Armony Tinchon’s stable over the winter and is
returning from an absence of more than five months after finishing 8th in a 2800m handicap on heavy
ground at ParisLogchamp on 29 October. Others preferred

Summary: MYKISS (11) caught the eye when finishing 3rd in a PSF claiming race over 2700m at this
venue on his reappearance and reverts to the handicaps below his last winning mark. He has already
proven his competitiveness at this level – won a Quinte+ last year off of a mark 1kg higher than his
current rating – and has references on heavy ground too, so it could pay to side with him in this opening event. KOSAKENZIPFEL (1) performed remarkably well at this level last year and has the means to fight for victory if fit on his return. WOOT CITY (5), after an encouraging (3rd) comeback outing, is another with sound claims given his efficiency on heavy ground. Consistent SAINT ETIENNE (3), an unknown quantity over this sort of trip, and MANDALORIAN (2), on handicap debut after an encouraging comeback, are also likely to be competitive for the places. FLATTEN THE CURVE (8), HOLLYWOOD AFRICANS (12) and BARBATE (4) complete the shortlist.

SELECTIONS

over 2000m on 17 March. Struggled in France before but might play a minor role

Compiegne over 1800m on 10 March. Be right there at the finish once again
14. ANTRIM – On a long losing run but was third last time out in a handicap at Chantilly over 1900m on
14 March. Can contest the finish again
15. ROSEL – Has struggled of late and was well beaten last time out in a handicap at Strasbourg over
1400m on 22 March. Needs major improvement to win

Summary: FEARLESS (9) was a disappointment last time out but is more at home at this track and is
quite capable of bouncing back to score. It is an open-looking handicap and SKIPPER (13) has been
very consistent of late and will not go down without a fight. WAITARA (2) is unreliable but only found
one better last time out and is clearly in with a winning chance. MI C’INFILO (4) ran well earlier this
week and deserves some respect.

Summary: Supplemented PINKY CEN (8) is an interesting newcomer whose dam finished 2nd on

Murphy is a force to be reckoned with young horses, which bodes well for the chances of ROCK
HUNTER (4) who makes an ambitious trip from Newmarket, along with POLITICAL POWER (1) who is
prepared in Ireland. NUIT DE L’HOMME (2), as a son of Gutaifan, is likely to be precocious.

SELECTIONS
PINKY CEN (8) – ROCK HUNTER (4) – POLITICAL POWER (1) – NUIT DE L’HOMME (2)

form before that. She is better on the turf and gets a narrow vote to score. VISIONARY DREAMER (1)
ran well in a claimer over this course and distance and is a possible threat. ALKUIN (2) is in good form
and should fight out the finish. HEGRINA (8) is capable of improvement and could make the frame.

R7 – PRIX D’APREMONT – 2200m (a1m1/2) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 19,000

1. CLASH ROYALE – Won a 2150m claimer on very soft ground at Cagnes during the winter, so could
fare better back at this level on heavy ground after finishing 7th in a 2400m handicap at Compiegne on 29 March
2. BELLE DE SABA – Consistent performer with sound references/form credentials in handicap and
conditions races, as well as in this grade – finished 2nd in a 2600m claimer on PSF at Marseille-Vivaux
on 23 March. One to beat
3. LEXOVIENNE – Wasn’t far off the mark in three of her four starts in conditions races on PSF – finished
6th in her latest outing over 1700m at Pornichet. Ran her best race (2nd) in this grade over 2100m on
the PSF at this venue (5 March)
4. BREEZE D’AUTEUIL – Sylvain Dehez-trained Magna Grecia newcomer to be ridden on debut by
Julia Guilloton with the benefit of a 3,5kg allowance

Compiegne on 19 March. Has a role to play
6. KALI JEM – Unplaced in two starts on turf and made no impression in a PSF claimer either over

PSF – finished 6th in a PSF claimer over 2100m at this venue on 5 March

4th over 2000m at La Teste-de-Buch in a conditions race on 23 March. Has claims
9. KENZA NOVA – Has finished 9th in each of three starts this year, twice on PSF and in an 1800m
claimer at Compiegne on 19 March
10. MIDDLE KICK – Consistent performer at this level with sound references in claimers on both
surfaces, including a last-start 4th over 1700m on yielding ground at Marseille-Borely on 20 March

Summary: Proven on heavy ground, BELLE DE SABA (2) is ideally engaged here to gain reward for
her consistency, especially as the highest rated of the runners in this race. She will, however, have to
be wary of the unexposed DSCHINGIS HORUS (5) whose improved 2nd over 2400m at Compiègne
last time bodes well for his chances in a race of this nature. Beyond those principals contenders,
UGATZAI (8), MIDDLE KICK (10) and LEXOVIENNE (3) complete the shortlist

SELECTIONS
BELLE DE SABA (2) – DSCHINGIS HORUS (5) – UGATZAI (8) – MIDDLE KICK (10)

R8 – PRIX DE LA COLLINE DE SION – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Class 4 Claiming Handicap – Flat – EUR € 13,000

over 1400m on 19 March. More is needed to win

Strasbourg over 1400m on 22 March. Not out of it
8. SO GOLD – Only fair form since only win and was third in a claimer last time out at Compiegne over
1600m on 29 March. Can fight out the finish again
9. STAR LUCE – Disappointing last run when well beaten in a handicap at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over
1200m on 19 November. Tough task in this line-up
10. BASSAC – Only modest form so far and was 7th last time out in a Conditions race at Lignières over
1600m on 2 March. Capable of good improvement dropped to a claimer
11. MORE – On a long losing run but did show improvement back on the grass when 6th last time out
in a Conditions race at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 1500m on 19 February. Can make the frame

Summary: A competitive race. KAMINO (5) has fair form in this division without winning but could break a long losing streak. BASSAC (10) has only been modest so far but has a first crack at a claimer and would not be a surprise winner. SO GOLD (8) was third in this division and this is certainly not a stronger race so deserves respect. JELIEL (6) showed some improvement last time out and could make the frame.

surfaces. Runner-up in a 2000m PSF conditions race at Marseille-Vivaux when last seen on 19

good/competitive form on both surfaces. Absent since finishing 5th in a 2400m Listed race at Toulouse
on 26 November

conditions races at this level. Absent since finishing 12th in a 1900m Quinte+ handicap on the PSF at
Deauville on 19 August
4. VENTS CONTRAIRES – Inconsistent handicapper but has references at this level and in handicaps,
as well as on heavy ground. Last seen on 21 December when finishing 12th in a 1900m Quinte+
handicap on the PSF at Deauville

6. UTAMARO – Ultra-consistent handicapper with solid form credentials and references on heavy
ground. Wasn’t at his best when finishing 9th in a 2500m Quinte+ on the PSF at Deauville on 16

7. LAMENTO – Capable but inconsistent performer in Quinte+ handicaps, though does have references
at this level. Absent since finishing 16th in an 1800m Quinte+ handicap at ParisLongchamp on 14 July
– watch for now
8. TIME TO PARLEY – Well-traveled mare with references in Germany and England, albeit at a lower
level. Has struggled on French solid, though, finishing unplaced in both outings this year – only 7th over 2600m at Morlaix on 24 March

Summary: A Class 3 conditions race in which eight of the nine runners are making their seasonal
reappearance. BROUILLARD (2), however, has the form and experience to suggest that he is more
than capable of winning on his return. Top-rated QUEST THE MOON (1) is also the highest-rated runner
in the race and, like the selection, is unlikely to be bothered by the state of the ground so ought to play a leading role too. ROYAL SHAKE (5) faces his elders for the first time but is open to improvement
returning as a gelding. VENTS CONTRAIRES (4) could redeem himself after a largely disappointing
2023 campaign.

although has been hard to win with (just 1 victory from 50 starts). Finished 6th in a 1300m PSF handicap here on 29 February
5. VEGA DREAM – Has rediscovered his form and consistency having dropped to this mark, finishing
4th in consecutive starts in PSF handicaps before finishing 3rd in a 1400m handicap on turf at
Compiegne on 19 March – chief threat
6. BELCHA – Honest veteran performer with sound references, including a last-start 5th over 1600m
on heavy ground at Le Mans on 11 March
7. GOOD’ID – A 12-start maiden unlikely to trouble the judge on the evidence of her last-start 9th in a
1600m PSF handicap at Pau on 10 March
8. PARISIAN BELLE – Versatile performer with sound references on heavy ground. Showed her form
and well-being by winning at Compigene a handicap over 1400m on 19 March – ought to remain
competitive under a 2,5kg penalty
9. AKENATOR – A lone-time maiden with just 3 places to his name from 30 starts. Sparked
improvement when finishing 3rd in a minor 1650m conditions race on heavy ground at Machecoul on 1
April – a lot more needed here
10. HYPNOTIZED – Inconsistent but capable mare with sound references in turf handicaps on heavy
ground, including a 3rd at Le Mans over 1600m on 11 March. Keep safe
11. GOJI BERRY – Capable but unreliable veteran handicapper who finished 3rd in consecutive
Fontainebleau handicaps last month before finishing a disappointing 10th in an 1800m handicap at Le
Croise-Laroche on 22 March
12. GARDOL MOON – Returned to form with a reassuring 4th in an 1800m handicap at Le CroiseLaroche on 22 March. Will need to build on that improvement to have a say here
13. REPONSE EXACTE – Raced just three times last year but appeared to have lost her way (unplaced
in each outing). Was soundly beaten (13th) on her reappearance in a 1600m PSF handicap at this
venue on 23 February – others preferred
14. BECH RIVER – Won an 1800m turf handicap at Clairefontaine in August last year but has struggled
since, finishing unplaced in each of his 12 subsequent outings. Finished 10th in a 1900m PSF handicap
here on 28 March – overlook
15. REDRUNNER – Showed signs of improvement when finishing 5th in a 1500m handicap on heavy
ground at Saint-Cloud on 26 March. Confirmation required16. KAVAKNEY – Has regained momentum dropped in the weights/ratings to her current mark. Finished
an encouraging 3rd on her reappearance in a 1400m handicap at Compiegne on 19 March

Summary: PARISIAN BELLE (8) bounced back to form with a workmanlike success at Comiegne
recently and is good value to continue that momentum here. She will, however, have to overcome VEGA DREAM (5), who has maintained a competitive/consistent level of form in her last three outings.
FOLLOW YOU (3) has sound references on this course and is likely to pose a threat to that duo. As for
BELCHA (6), who didn’t unnoticed when finishing 5th at Le Mans last time, he has the means to make
his presence felt too, with the shortlist completed by D DAY MAN (1) who made a winning reappearance on the PSF at Chantilly last month.

SELECTIONS
