Race Preview
R1 – PRIX DU GALOPPCLUB IFFEZHEIM – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Class 4 Handicap – Flat – EUR € 18,000
1. ELEGATO – Running well, placed 4th over 1500m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on the 26th of February in Handicap class and can go very close. Big danger.
2. KAMINO – Is a tad erratic but on best form can win. Finished 6th over 1700m at Pornichet in a Handicap on the 16th of last month. Can win.
3. SYMBOLE – Fair 5th over 1300m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on the 25th of February in a Handicap and can get closer this time. Quartet chance.
4. KING’S CROWN – Seldom far away, finished 8th over 2350m at Strasbourg and much more is needed for the win. Prefer others.
5. PRAIRIE GLORY – Can build on recent 5th over 1700m at Pornichet and is a must for the quartet. Respect and include.
6. LADY ROCHE – Penultimate 2nd in a Handicap at Nancy over 1400m on the 17th of November last year is what catches the eye. Will probably need it. Small place chance.
7. MAAVAH – Finished 5th over 1300m at Chantilly in penultimate run but disappointed thereafter when way down field. Has claims on fair overall form. Chance.
8. SWEET MASTER – Current form on the decline, did finish 3rd three runs back over 2000m at Nancy but others should be much the stronger. Ignore.
9. NO TIME – She needs to, and can put her last two bad runs behind her and bounce right back to best. Finished 3rd three runs back. Include.
10. DARLING JAY – Current form is dismal and will need serious improving on to feature. Finished 15th over 1600m last time at Chantilly. Unlikely.
11. ROSEL – Has very little current form to talk about and would be a surprise winner. Finished 10th at Nancy last time. Unlikely.
12. PETERHOF – Cannot be fancied on current form, finished way back in 17th over 1600m in December. Way prefer others. Ignore.
13. MAKENO – Ignore latest effort, was a winner of a Handicap before that over 1500m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer. Strong each way claims.
14. TOPINAMBUR – Ignore last run when 13th over 1300m in a Handicap at Chantilly late last month. Expect much more. Good chance.
15. LOUVE PRECIEUSE – Would be a shock winner based on recent 12th place finish over 1500m at Deauville. Happy to pass by.
16. HUR CAT – Will need to build on latest 5th over 1400m at Nancy and far prefer others. An outsider that has many lengths to find. Pass by.
Summary: KAMINO (2) is a tad erratic and sometimes runs hot and cold. In saying that, his best form is good enough to win a race of this nature and he has to be taken very seriously for the win position. MAKENO (13) has had plenty racing and racked up nine wins, of which the most recent was two starts back. He has strong each way claims. ELEGATO (1) has caught the attention in his last two runs and is a must for all bets. Big place chance. NO TIME (9) can be forgiven for her last two below par efforts. Expect a lot better.

R2 – PRIX DANY SCHNEIDER – 2000m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 21,000
1. L’ELU DE SADDLE – Attractive debut but has been on the decline since. Finished 7th over 1200m last time in a claiming race and more needed for the win. Happy to ignore.
2. ERICSON – Huge improvement at the second time of asking when 2nd over 1800m at Lyon La Soie on the 2nd of December. Can be expected to run fresh and make a winning return.
3. BALERION – Placed 4th over 2100m at Pornichet on the 16th of February and can place again. Should be right there. Strong claims.
4. NICE PAULI – Can build plenty on recent 8th over 1900m at Deauville on the 29th of November last year. Strong place chance despite the rest.
5. FABIOLA HILL – Can improve on local debut when 5th over 1800m at Lyon La Soie but will need to. Include in larger quartet perms.
6. WALDLADY – Ignore last run when 6th over 1800m at Lyon La Soie in November but fitness level is a worry. Hard to assess but can run well based on best form.
7. BELHAD JELOIS – Has shown very little in both starts and will need huge improvement to feature here. Finished 10th over 2000m last time. Pass by.
8. NORONHA – Ignore last run, chance on penultimate 3rd over 1400m at Vichy in a claiming race. Is rested but can race fresh and well. Chance.
9. ZHANNA – Seldom too far off the action, can build on recent 7th place over 2100m at Marseille Borely in mid February. Quartet inclusion as the value.
10. CORMORAN – Son of Lord Of England out of a Acclamation mare that could need the first run. Watch the betting moves.
11. FLORY DU NINIAN – Watch the betting trends with this unraced daughter of Stormy Ocean. Happy to ignore for today.
12. LADY ETOILEE – Makes her debut and could get into the action but far prefer others. Watch the betting trends as race time looms.
13. PRIVATE JOKE – Daughter of Seabhac out of a Royal Applause mare that could need this run to strengthen up. Watch the betting moves.
Summary: ERICSON (2) improved a lot from run one to run two and if improving like that again, will be difficult to oppose. NICE PAULI (4) is starting to learn what racing is all about and with three runs under the belt, can get much closer now. Bright chance. NORONHA (8) has placed twice from five starts and should get it all right soon. Expect another honest run and another place cheque. WALDLADY (6) let the side down last time after notching up two encouraging seconds in a row. She can be very competitive today and is one for all bets.

R3 – PRIX DU HAUT-RHIN – 2100m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 16,000
1. FUTURE – Current form on the decline, finished 13th over 2350m at Strasbourg in November last year. Should need it. Prefer others.
2. REBEL D’ANS – Was victorious over 2600m in a Handicap at Marseille Borely on the 27th of February and can record back-to-back wins. Winning choice.
3. WONDER HOPE – Finished way back in 12th over 2000m at Nancy and will probably need the run. Happy to watch.
4. WHERE CHOP – Can improve on latest 7th over 3200m at Ligniers on the 18th of February, but will need to. Good chance.
5. SCHERWOOD – Finished 15th over 2400m at Lyon La Soie in a Handicap and needs serious improvement on that. Unlikely.
6. ATREUS – Big runner based on cracking recent effort when 3rd over 2700m at Chantilly. Strong each way claims.
7. ANGEL PARK – Current form is not inspiring, finished 10th at Saint-Cloud over 2000m last time and is hard to fancy. Ignore.
8. FEDE GALIZIA – Could represent some each way value here. Placed 7th over 2200m at Clairefontaine on the 20th of October. Can run fresh and could earn.
9. ZILCOVER – Finished 7th over 2400m last time at the races and needs to find plenty for the win. Happy to ignore.
10. DARLING CHALLENGE – Will need to build on latest 7th finish over 1900m at Deauville in a Handicap on the 19th of October last year. Should need the run.
11. AFTERGLOW – Huge run last time when 2nd over 2000m in a Handicap at Fontainebleau on the 6th of March. Can go one better.
12. COLE CHOP – Placed ninth over 2200m at Amiens last year and is an unlikely winner. Pass by.
13. MY BUDDY – Current form is on the decline but can bounce back to better form. Finished 13th over 1900m at Chantilly in a competitive Handicap on the 24th of last month. Value place.
Summary: REBEL D’ANS (2) comes into the race, fresh off an impressive victory at Marseille Borely over 2600m and is confidently selected to follow up. MY BUDDY (13) is taking time to win again and is a tad off form but on very best efforts can earn in a race like this and represents some value. AFTERGLOW (11) showed last time after some below par runs that she was back on the right road to the winners box and can go one better. Bright chance. ATREUS (6) placed last time and can do so again and is a must for the trifecta and quartet.

R4 – PRIX DU BAS-RHIN – 2100m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 18,000
1. AUENWOLF – Finished 7th in a Handicap at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2500m on the 21st of February. Has sufficient means to be involved in the finish.
2. WAITARA – Finished 6th in a Conditions race at Lyon-La Soie over 2150m on the 8th of February. New in Yoann Bonnefoys stable and deserves to be respected.
3. INDIAN SUNSET – Good third in a Claimer at Compiegne over 1800m on the 10th of March. If repeating the latest effort will go close again.
4. COSTA EDITA – Unplaced in a Handicap at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2500m on the 21st of February. In his only outing in heavy ground he was victorious.
5. MR RIEM – Unplaced in a Handicap at Saint-Cloud over 2000m on the 7th of March. Last victory was at this track in June last year.
6. AUEN ADVENTURE – Was fourth in a Handicap at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 3200m on the 26th of February. Consistent sort who is seldom far off them.
7. SWEET AUTHOR – Unplaced in a Conditions race at Chantilly over 1800m on the 29th of February. Unplaced last four efforts and would be a shock winner.
8. LUNA THE GREAT – Was fourth in a Claimer at Fontainebleau over 3800m on the 20th of February. Happy to ignore.
9. ANNA CARIBEA – Was 7th in a Conditions race at Lyon-La Soie over 2400m onthe 3rd of March. Others are preferred in this line up.
10. FEARLESS – Was third in a Handicap at Nancy over 3000m on the 26th of November. Might need the run back but can have a say.
11. DIANA – Finished 6th in a Handicap at Angers over 4000m on the 22nd of November. Probably will need the run back after the absence.
12. MOTORSPORT – Unplaced in a Handicap at Fontainebleau over 2000m on the 7th of March. Disappointing last three efforts and others are preferred.
13. PHILIPPE’S GREY – Unplaced in a Handicap at Pornichet-La Baule over 3100m on the !st of December. Might need the run back.
Summary: INDIAN SUNSET (3) was third in a Claimer recently at Compiegne and she can win on her return to Handicaps. WAITARA (2) is new in Yoann Bonnefoys yard and deserves to be respected. COSTA EDITA (4) enjoyed a heavy track and if so must have a say. AUENWOLF (1) and AUEN ADVENTURE (6) should be considered for the place.
