Race Preview
R1 – PRIX DE LA PLAINE DU PUTOIS – 1800m (a1m 1/8) – TURF – Class 2 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 53,000
1. SHORT FINAL – Won at Saint-Cloud over 1400m in a Class 2 handicap on March 12th. Will not lack match fitness and can be competitive.
2. PONTY – 4th last start at Chantilly on February 15th over 1900m in a Class 2 race. Ought to be in the shake-up.
3. BEMER – Two unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 1600m in a Class 1 race on January 21st. Opposable.
4. VILLAGE ANGLAIS – 3rd two runs ago over 1500m in a Class 2 handicap on February 7th. One to pay attention too.
5. LIGHT WAKEUP – Two unplaced last time, won before that at Le Mans over 1400m on October 24th. Has won at this track over 1600m in July 2023. Needs a few to falter.
6. LINGOTTO – Three runs unplaced of late, he won before that over 1800m at Lyon La Soie on December 2nd. Needs to get back on form.
7. MAX VERST – Two unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 2000m in a Class 4 race on February 1st. Others rate higher.
8. BLUFF – Fair 4th over 1500m in a Class 2 handicap on February 26th when last seen. In the mix.
9. AFRICAN GREY – Unplaced last time, won before that over 1600m on October 21st at Parislongchamp in a Class 3 handicap. Place chance.
10. ALPAGE – 5th last time, won before that over 1600m in a Class 4 race on January 23rd. Can play a lead role.
11. PINGO – Has four unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 2200m in a Class 2 handicap on August 26th. Can make the top four at nice odds.
12. MR CASSIOPE – Ran well when 5th in a Class 2 handicap on February 26th over 1500m. Has dropped to a decent handicap rating and can score.
13. MORSAN – 2nd last time over 2000m at Saint-Cloud in a Class 2 handicap on March 7th. Capable of making the frame.
14. LAURENT – 3rd at Saint-Cloud over 1600m on November 17th in a Class 2 handicap when last racing. Poor course form of late.
15. LARNO – Five unplaced runs of late, won before that in a Class 2 handicap over 1600m on November 17th. Outside place chance.
16. TALISMAN TOUCH – 2nd last time over 1500m in a Class 3 handicap on February 26th. Might find a few of these too smart.
Summary: MR CASSIOPE (12) has dropped in the ratings and has been given a chance by the handicapper to be very competitive. His biggest threat could be ALPAGE (10) who won two runs ago and ran well last time when he was fifth in a competitive handicap at Cagnes-Sur-Mer. PINGO (11) is also one to consider and can have a say in proceedings at attractive odds. VILLAGE ANGLAIS (4) is a capable performer and can not be discounted for making the frame.

1. ORFEO – Two runs showing some talent on debut when 5th at Chantilly over 1900m on February 23rd. Place chance.
2. GREY POUR FREEDOM – Unplaced in both runs so far, the latter over 1600m on July 15th. Has been off the track for 8 months and is best watched for now.
3. POTE – Two 4th placed runs so far, the latter over 1900m at Chantilly 25 days ago. Leading chance.
4. MAIGHREAD – Two runs so far in maiden races, the latter over 1900m on February 3rd. Now drops to a claimer for the first time. Consider.
5. QUARTO GRADO – Two unplaced runs so far, the latest when well beaten at Chantilly over 1600m 14 days ago. Opposable.
6. JIJI MY LOVE – Well beaten on both runs so far, the latest at Chantilly over 1600m 14 days ago in a maiden. Hard to fancy.
7. LOST IN MUSIC – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 2100m at Pornichet on February 22nd. Can make the top three.
8. CHANAZ – Two unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that over 1900m in a claimer on January 5th. Might find a few of these too smart.
9. BEJAR – Decent 2nd on the sole run to date over 1600m at Saint-Malo on August 17th. Ought to be in the shake-up.
10. RUE CUSTINE – Two unplaced runs recently, 3rd at Deauville before that over 1900m in a maiden race in December 2023. Outside place chance.
11. CLASH ROYALE – Unplaced last time, won before that over 2150m on January 29th. Each way must.
12. CHAMBERI – Unplaced on the sole run so far over 1800m in a claimer 16 days ago. Hard to recommend.
13. KENZA NOVA – Four unplaced runs so far, the latest over 1900m at Chantilly on February 24th. Makes limited appeal.
14. DOMIZIA SWEETY – 5th last time at Chantilly over 2100m in a claimer. Can have a say in proceedings.
Summary: POTE (3) has shown promise in both outings when fourth on both starts. Dropped into a claimer he can be too smart for his rivals. BEJAR (9) could be the biggest threat. She was a promising second at Saint-Malo on her only start so far and has been given some time since that pleasing run. CLASH ROYALE (11) is one for the each-way backers to look at. LOST IN MUSIC (7) heads the remainder.

1. ROXANA OF CECCA – Two unplaced runs so far, the latter over 1500m on February 1st in a maiden race. Opposable.
2. QUALIXIA – Nice debut 2nd at Dortmund(DEU) over 1400m on September 17th. Has been given time and ought to be thereabouts.
3. QUENDRESA – Has experience and talent, 4th last time on October 27th at Chantilly over 1600m. Live chance.
4. VIVAWOOD – Unplaced at Chantilly over 1600m on February 9th in a maiden on the sole run to date. Hardly inspiring.
5. PURA VIDA – 6th on the sole run to date over 1200m at Fontainebleau 13 days ago. Can improve but others make more appeal.
6. LAPOINTEDESPIEDS – 3rd last time over 1300m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer on February 7th. Has work to do to feature.
7. PATRICIA – 6th last time, 3rd before that over 1800m at Fontainebleau on November 25th. Place chance.
8. MONTEMESOLA – Newcomer by Kingman, from the Fabre powerhouse yard. Will play a leading role on debut.
9. BONITA SUISSE – Newcomer by Meshaheer, from a good stable who can ready a debutante. Market support should be informative.
Summary: The well-bred MONTEMESOLA (8) will be nicely tuned for a bold show on her first day at school. She can edge this over the experienced QUENDRESA (3) who has run well in all three starts so far and is a sure-fire winner in the future. QUALIXIA (2) ran well when second on her debut at Dortmund and ought to make her rivals work hard for success. PATRICIA (7) also warrants respect and can not be discounted.

R4 – PRIX D’AUTRECHES – 2400m (a1m 1/2) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 19,000
1. DSCHINGIS HORUS – 5th on debut at Machecoul over 2350m on February 25th. Can improve from that and should be capable of taking this.
2. AFRIQUE ADIEU – 3rd last time at Machecoul over 2350m on February 25th. Has plenty of experience and can be involved.
3. MOONWALKER – Unplaced on the last two runs, 4th at Deauville before that over 1500m in a claimer on February 2nd. Opposable.
4. ERIDITA DOVER – Two unplaced runs of late, 4th before that at Angers in a Class 2 race on November 22nd. In the mix.
5. ANNA MANDARA – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that at Pornichet over 2100m on January 27th. Needs a few to falter.
6. LUCKY BERE – 6th in a handicap over 2100m at Saint-Cloud on March 12th when last seen. Ought to be thereabouts.
7. LIANE – Two recent unplaced runs, 4th before that at Machecoul over 1650m on November 11th in a claimer. Hard to recommend.
8. AODHA – 4th two runs ago at Lyon La Soie over 2150m in a claimer on January 24th. Others preferred.
Summary: DSCHINGIS HORUS (1) ran with promise at Machecoul when fifth on his debut last month and should improve enough from that experience and be good enough to take this. AFRIQUE ADIEU (2) was third in the same race, he is the biggest threat but the selection ran green and can edge it. LUCKY BERE (6) shaped well in a handicap last time and could be the best option each way. ERIDITA DOVER (4) makes up the shortlist.
