Summary: Another race entirely of newcomers and once again the betting is likely to tell the nest
likely result. NAXOS AA (2) catches the eye on breeding. LUPIN DA CLODIA AA (10) also catches
the eye when looking at jockey-trainer combinations. LOKI DE LA BRUNIE AA (1) and LEON DA
CLODIA AA (9) are two of msany more runners in this race that should no be a surprise winner.

1. JAFAR D’ESCAR AA – Unreliable but was not disgraced when third last time out in a Conditions
race at Toulouse over 2400m on 11 November. Place chance
2. SI YOU SOON AA – Yet to win but is consistent and ran well when runner-up in a Conditions race
at Tarbes over 2300m on 22 October. Not out of it
3. HALANDJILA AA – Won twice last year and was not disgraced when third in a Conditions race
over this course and distance on 6 November. Can contest the finish again
4. JAKARTA TROIS AA – Has ability and showed it last time out when a winner in a Conditions race
at Toulouse over 2400m on 22 September. Go close if fit from the break
5. LA RUIZA AA – Very consistent so far and was runner-up last time out in a Conditions race at
Tarbes over 2300m on 22 October. Tries the PSF but does have leading claims if fit from a break
6. BAND JO AA – Yet to win a race and was 8th last time out in a Conditions race at La Teste-deBuch over 2200m on 25 August. Others are preferred
7. LE BEL OGIO AA – Not disgraced when 5th on debut in a Conditions race at Dax over 2300m on 7
May 2022. Likely to need this run returning from a lengthy break
8. JEAN JACK D’AYZA AA – Unreliable so fa and was 7th last time out in a Conditions race at Montde-Marsan over 2150m on 1 October. Others are preferred
9. CALLISTO DE BOJOUR AA – Only modest form in two starts and was 6th last time out in a
Conditions race at Limoges over 2400m on 2 December. Needs to do more to win this race
10. JOBURG PONTADOUR AA – In good form and was runner-up last time out in a Conditions race
at Agen-Le Passage over 2500m on 27 November. Did win penultimate start and can bounce back to
score
11. JUSTE LABOUEYRIE AA – Showed vast improvement when winning a Conditions race at Tarbes
over 2300m on 23 October. Can follow up if fit from a break
12. KALY DE LA BRUNIE AA – Won twice last year and ewas not disgraced when fifth last time out in
a Conditions race at Tarbes over 2300m on 22 October. Not out of it
13. ADAGIO AREDIEN AA – Fair form and was fourth last time out in a Conditions race at Tarbes
over 2300m on 23 October. Might play a minor role
Summary: LA RUIZA AA (5) is very consistent and although returning from a break gets the vote to
score. JAKARTA TROIS AA (4) has ability and does look the biggest threat. She is also resuming
from a break so her fitness will also need to be taken on trust. HALANDJILA AA (3) has done well
enough so far to hold a winning chance in this line-up. JOBURG PONTADOUR AA (10) is improving
and clearly not out of it.

over this course and distance on 14 February. Others are preferred
2. IMAGINE CHOP – Yet to win a race and was well beaten in a claimer last time out at Toulouse over
1600m on 6 February. Needs to do more to win this race
3. MANA SIS – Disappointing last run when well beaten in a handicap at this course over 2000m on 2
February. Could do better this distance but others are preferred
4. GOOD’ID – Yet to win a race and was 9th last time out in a claimer over this track and trip on 16
January. Needs to find a few lengths to win
5. ROYAL VATI – Unreliable and was disappoinrting when 10th last time out in a handicap at Chantilly
over 1600m on 23 February. Better at this course and is not out of it
6. MISTER GRENADINE – On a long losing run and was well beaten last time out in a handicap at this
course over 2000m on 4 February. Others are much preferred
7. LUXU – Yet to win after 22 attempts and was 6th last time out in a Conditions hurdles race at this
course on 18 February. Could play a minor role
8. GOOD VICTORY – Has yet to win a race and was 8th last time out in a handicap at Bordeaux-Le
Bouscat over 1400m on 22 February. Best in claimers and others are preferred
9. SHANGRI LA – Disappointing last run when 12th in a handicap at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over
1400m on 22 February. Better at this track and can contest the finish
10. ROGUE ROCKET – Only win was in the UK in 2022 and was 11th last time out in a handicap at
Tarbes over 2100m on 23 February. Drops in distance and could be the surprise package of the race
11. RICHMOND – Yet to win and was well beaten in a handicap at this course over 2000m on 18
February. Better this distance but others are preferred
12. LA FIBRE – Showed some improvement when 5th last time out in a handicap at this course over
1400m on 18 February. Can contest the finish
13. STONEHENGE – Much improved last run when runner-up in a handicap at Bordeaux-Le Bousca
over 1400m on 22 February. Capable of an upset if repeating that run
14. VICTORY CAT – Unreliable of late but did run well when third last time out in a handicap at this
course over 1400m on 18 February. Go close
15. SOLITARY MAN – Likes this course and was runner-up last time out in a handicap over 1400m on
18 February. Can go one better
16. DIRTY DOZEN – Disappointing last three runs and was 7th last time out in a handicap at this
course over 2000m on 18 February. Can bounce back and score this shorter distance
Summary: SOLITARY MAN (15) loves this course and was runner-up last time out. He could be
ready to go one better. VICTORY CAT (14) was not far behind the selection when they last met and
should be a lively danger. ROYAL VATI (5) has a good record at this course so the last run is best
ignored. LA FIBRE (12) showed some improvement last time out and can do even better this time
around.

1. LOUIS SKI – Last win ws in 2022 and was well beaten in a handicap last time out at this course
over 2000m on 4 February. Capable of popping up in a place when in the mood
2. SUPER CUTE – Hat-trick seeking after some nice wins over this track and trip with the latest win in
a handicap on 31 January. Carries a 3.50kg penalty for latest win but deserves respect
3. AZUR AS WELL – Last two wins were on the turf and was 5th last time out in a Claimer at
Toulouse over 1600m on 6 February. A minor place at best
4. NUIT D’ALIENOR – Last win was at this course but was well beaten last time out in a handicap at
Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 1400m on 22 February. Struggling of late and is best watched for now
5. KATALINA – Only win was in Spain and was 10th last time out in a handicap at Bordeaux-Le
Bouscat over 1400m on 22 February. Needs to do more to win this race
6. WAIPA – Distance suited but was well beaten last time out in a handicap at Bordeaux-Le Bouscat
over 1400m on 22 February. Could be the surprise package
7. LEXINGTON FORCE – On a very long losing run since only win and was 6th last time out in a
handicap at Tarbes on 23 February. Better over further but could sneak a minor place
8. CHIEF RED CLOUD – On a long losing run and was 6th last time out in a handicap over this track
and trip on 4 January. Place chance in this line-up
9. ASSIER – Unreliable but did run well when runner-up in a handicap at this course over 2000m on 4
February. Go close this shorter distance
10. IS SUR TILLE – Consistent form and was fourth last time out in a handicap at this course over
2000m on 4 February. Has won this course and distance so should fight out the finish
11. TERANGA – Last win was at this course but was well beaten last time out in a handicap at
Bordeaux-Le Bouscat over 1400m on 22 February. Others are preferred
12. PREMIERE D’ESTEJO – Holding form well and was fourth last time out in a Conditions race at
Cagnes-sur-Mer over 2000m on 30 January. Not out of
13. VIRIMOON ETOILE – On a long losing run but it is best to ignore her last run when 11th at
Bordeaux- Le Bouscat on the turf on 22 February. Better this course and distance and can make the
frame
14. ROGUE STAR – Yet to win a race and was 6th last time out in a Claimer at this course on 8
January. Needs to find a few lengths to win this race
15. REPEL GHOSTS – Showed some improvement when third last time out over this track and trip on
31 January. Can contest the finish again
16. AMAYITA – Has not shown much in four starts and was 10th last time out in a handicap at
Toulouse over 1600m on 20 November
Summary: ASSIER (9) only found one better last time out but has to prove himself as good this
distance. IS SUR TILLE (10) has won over this track and trip and should be right there at the finish.
SUPER CUTE (2) has struck a purple patch of form and is hat-trick seeking. She carries a 3.50kg
penalty for her latest win and that will make it a lot tougher for her. PREMIERE D’ESTEJO (12) is in
good heart and is another to consider.

R5 – PRIX DU MONT SAINT-PIERRE – 2000m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 20,000
1. MALYA – Has regained her form and fitness with comeback outings this year on PSF – including a
last-start 2nd at Cagnes over 2000m on 11 February. Proven on heavy ground so has a winning
chance back on the turf
2. LAMAJESTIK – Consistent filly, for the most, in the claiming category on both turf and PSF. Absent
since finishing 9th in a 1900m PSF claimer at Deauville on 18 November
3. QUEEN’S ANGEL – Last-start winner over 1650m at Machecoul on 3 March in what was her first
outing on turf. Dark horse
4. WHILAND – Unplaced in all five of her outings and could only finish 6th in a PSF claimer over
1800m at Lyon-La Soie on 3 March. Blinkers worn that day have been dispensed with
5. CHINCHA ALTA – Consistent filly with sound references, albeit without a victory from 9 starts.
Finished 7th at Cagnes over 2150m on 12 February but ran well enough in a handicap at Lyon-Parilly
in November to warrant respect
6. LADY OF NABEUL – Finished ahead of MALYA (1) on the PSF at Cagnes over 2000m on 30
January, so must be taken seriously
7. MADEMOISELLE MIA – Improved to finish a career-best 2nd in a 2150m PSF claimer at Lyon-La
Soie on 24 January. Has made all three appearances on the all-weather so is an unknown quantity on
turf
8. LA TOUR DU BOIS – Finished 4th on debut over 1400m on turf and has failed to build on that
promise in 3 subsequent starts on PSF – was a modest 7th in a 1500m PSF handicap at Deauville on
10 February. Can do better on turf
9. LADYSHOW – Bounced back to form with a reassuring 2nd on heavy ground over 2350m at
Machecoul on 25 February. Keep safe
Summary: Top-rated MALYA (1) concedes weight to all but is good value to confirm the improvement
of her encouraging last-start 2nd, especially with Cristian Demuro in the irons again. LADY OF
NABEUL (6), however, finished ahead of the selection at Cagnes on 30 January, so is also a
candidate for success. CHINCHA ALTA (5) remains a maiden but has sufficient means to make her
presence felt in the finish and could have more to offer equipped with blinkers for the first time.

R6 – PRIX MICHELINE LEURSON – HANDICAP CHALLENGE – 1800m (a1m 1/8) – TURF – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 16,000
1. MAKENO – Last-start winner of a 1500m handicap on very heavy ground at Cagnes on 26
February. Could win again, despite his 2,5kg penalty
2. CHAAM – Has struggled in his five outing under a penalty after winning a 2000m handicap at
Toulouse in October, though did so off his current mark. Finished 11th in a 1400m handicap at
Bordeaux on 22 February
3. SKIPPER – Lightly raced five-year-old with references in handicap races on both surfaces, including
a last-start 3rd in a PSF handicap at Lyon-La Soie over 1800m on 11 December. One to note on his
reappearance
4. SHAWBAK – Hard-knocking veteran handicapper who has already proven his competitiveness off
his current mark. Finished a reassuring 3rd in a 1900m PSF handicap at Deauville on 3 February –
can’t be underestimated
5. MASTARS – Bounced back to form with an encouraging last-start 4th in a 2400m handicap at
Toulouse on 6 February when reverting to the turf. Main danger
6. EARLY LIGHT – Unreliable and out of sorts recently but has references at a higher level. Finished a
disappointing 7th in a 1900m PSF claimer at Chantilly on 23 February but has dropped to a
dangerous mark returning to turf
7. ROUVRAY – Made just four appearances last year but was soundly beaten in each of his last three
starts, all on PSF. Hasn’t been seen since finishing a well-beaten 12th over 1600m at Chantilly on 30
December – outsider
8. INCA MAN – Inconsistent on the PSF but is versatile with sound references on turf. Has proven his
competitiveness at this level so shouldn’t be underestimated back on his belated return to this surface
9. CALCUTTA CUP – Capable but is an unreliable handicapper who lost his way last year – unplaced
in each of his last four 2023 outings. Not seen since finishing 9th in a 2100m handicap at Saint-Cloud
on 30 October
Summary: MAKENO (1) is participating in this race in great physical condition and has a history of
performing well on heavy ground, so is expected to receive the most support. MASTARS (5) showed
some promise in its last outing (finishing 4th) and could pose a threat if it can maintain that level of
performance. If we look beyond these two, INCA MAN (8) and EARLY LIGHT (6) are the most
promising candidates among the other participants.

R7 – PRIX DES RUINES DE CHAMPLIEU – 1800m (a1m 1/8) – TURF – Class 3 Claiming – Flat – EUR € 19,000
1. AKAGERA – Lightly raced filly with solid form credentials, including two wins from as many outings
in this category. Hasn’t been seen since finishing 4th over 2400m at Bordeaux on 28 October –
respected on her return
2. PLAIN BEAU – Veteran campaigner with references in a hgher grade and whose competitiveness
at this level is beyond doubt. Could only finish 10th in a 1900m PSF claimer at Deauville on 6 January
but is capable of better
3. TIGRR – Inconsistent but capable sort whose versatility (effective on both turf and PSF) and
references on heavy ground will stand him in good stead. Finished 9th over 1800m on PSF at
Chantilly on 29 February
4. CHIPPING AWAY – Consistent, hard-knocking German handicapper whose references suggest
that he is effective at a lower level. Has to improve on his return after a modest last-start 6th over
1600m in Munich on 25 November
5. TUMBLER – Lightly raced individual with references at a much higher level. Finished 8th in a
2150m conditions event (turf) at Cagnes on 5 February but should prove too good in this category off
a reduced mark
6. SAINT AMOUR – Unexposed four-year-old unplaced in his two appearances over 1900m on PSF at
Deauville, -finished 7th on both occasions. Could be anything on the turf but is best watched for now
7. LA LOIRE – Won a 1600m handicap on this course in September 2022 but has performed
inconsistently ever since. Finished a well-beaten 17th on her reappearance in 1900m PSF handicap
at Chantilly on 24 February
8. MAIMOUNA – Has gone off the boil in PSF handicaps at Pau recently, was only 12th over 1600m
on 14 February. Can do better back on the turf and at this level, having already proven herself
competitive in this category
9. INDIAN SUNSET – German mare unplaced in both of her PSF outings on French soil this year – the
latest (7th) of which was over 2700m at Chantilly on 16 February. Others preferred
Summary: Top-rated TUMBLER (5) performed at a higher level earlier in his career and is favourably
treated under these conditions, so will logically attract most of the attention in his first appearance in
this category. TIGRR (3) usually performs well on heavy ground so could pose the biggest threat,
although Julien Phelippon’s runners AKAGERA (1) and PLAIN BEAU (2), who has a useful record in
this category, are also capable of playing leading roles.
