Race Summary: WORLD OF PLEASURE boasts by far the strongest form on offer and need only perform at the level of either outing over this trip to open his account. BUZZ BOMB could pose the biggest threat if building on the improvement of his last start. PROHIBITION and SET TO MUSIC have shown enough to earn a cheque and on pedigree, ought to appreciate the step up to this trip. Well-related LORD BYRON should also improve over ground. Watch the betting on well-bred newcomer CRIMSON COMET.

Selections:

#1 World Of Pleasure, #9 Buzz Bomb, #4 Set To Music, #10 Crimson Comet

Race Summary: RAMA FORCESA finished downfield in a 2yo feature on Met Day after an encouraging debut but could redeem himself having subsequently been gelded. AFRICAN PRINCE wasn’t disgraced on debut in the Cape Slipper and should improve appreciably with the benefit of that experience. TURBO TWENTY fits a similar profile so could get into the picture too. Watch the betting on the newcomers, of whom SUMMER SNOW and BOMBER BAY appeal most.

Selections:

#2 Rama Forcesa, #3 African Prince, #1 Turbo Twenty, #9 Summer Snow

Kenilworth, 09.03.2024, Race 3, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R200.000, 13:35GMT+2

Race Summary: Good race. Stablemates LINDBERGH and ZIL MORIS are last-start winners with winners weighted to be competitive. The distance-suited the latter, however, he concedes 4.5kg to the former which could ultimately prove the difference between the pair. SOLOMONS SEAL acquitted himself well over track and trip last time from a wide draw at this level so ought to be more competitive on these terms, although riding arrangements suggest best-weighted MY GOLLY MOLLY is the stable elect after a pleasing comeback run over an inadequate distance. WAR CHARIOT and TYRION LANNISTER have earning potential too.

Selections:

#1 Lindbergh, #7 Zil Moris, #2 Solomons Seal, #6 My Golly Molly

Kenilworth, 09.03.2024, Race 4, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R110.000, 14:10GMT+2

Race Summary: Competitive maiden. TEQUILA SKY and LOVE SHACK are overdue and wouldn’t be winning out of turn after several near misses. Both have the form and experience to play leading roles. SPIRIT GUIDE and FASTNET FILLY are improving and likely to make their presence felt with further progress expected. Both PILOT FLAME and BEST THING EVER are also likely to improve after encouraging introductions, so cannot be underestimated either. Good race!

Selections:

#5 Tequila Sky, #6 Love Shack, #2 Pilot Flame, #7 Spirit Guide

Kenilworth, 09.03.2024, Race 5, Gallops, 1800m, Turf, R110.000, 14:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Tricky. STORM BOULEVARD was returning from a break when finishing ahead of several re-opposing rivals over this course and distance last time, so ought to remain competitive with improved fitness on his side. However, KWITE A KING ran on from a long way back on that occasion and is good value to turn the tables. Improving CONTINENTAL EXPRESS looked better for the fitting of blinkers that day and is likely to continue his progress with another forward showing here. On the evidence of his last start over 1600m, SONG TO THE MOON will appreciate this sterner test of stamina. JOVIAL is next best.

Selections:

#5 Kwite A King, #3 Continentalexpress, #7 Storm Boulevard, #1 Song To The Moon

Kenilworth, 09.03.2024, Race 6, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R110.000, 15:20GMT+2

Race Summary: MONT LOISIR was returning from a layoff when a beaten short-priced favourite over this course and distance. He will strip fitter with the benefit of that outing but is likely to find this tougher and is drawn wide. Well-bred HOODIA has shown promise in 3 starts up the straight but will appreciate this step up in trip so ought to play a leading role. KING OF NUMBERS caught the eye on his reappearance (over track and trip) and should have more to offer with improved fitness on his side. IGUGULETHU and PRINCE OF TIBET have the form and experience to get involved. LORD SAYE completes the shortlist.

Selections:

#4 Hoodia, #12 Mont Loisir, #2 King Of Numbers, #7 Igugulethu

Kenilworth, 09.03.2024, Race 7, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R120.000, 15:55GMT+2

Race Summary: Good race. WUGUG has won both starts over this course and distance including a similar contest last time out. GO LIKE FLO is weighted to turn the tables on these terms but renews rivalry with SENHORA VICTORIA on unfavourable revised terms. GLEE CLUB, GREEN VALKYRIE and PORTO ZANTE could have a say too, if building on the improvement of their recent outings. Distance-suited last-start maiden winner QHAWEKAZI is progressive and could represent the value in the race from the widest draw.

Selections:

#10 Qhawekazi, #6 Go Like Flo, #3 Wugug, #9 Porto Zante

Kenilworth, 09.03.2024, Race 8, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R135.000, 16:30GMT+2

Race Summary: POMODORO’S JET was heavily supported when beaten at short odds over 2000m last time but can gain compensation for that defeat reverting to this trip and preserve his unbeaten course-and-distance record. Well-bred stablemate JOIN THE DOTS made the expected improvement when winning over track and trip in just his second start and ought to make further progress, so could be competitive at this level under a lightweight from stall No 1. QUATERMAIN has won back-to-back starts over course and distance and has claims again under a 7-point penalty. KITCHAKAL, BLACKBERRY MALT and GAINSFORD come next.

Selections:

#11 Pomodoro’s Jet, #2 Quatermain, #6 Blackberry Malt, #4 Kitchakal

Race Summary: Tricky. AXL has returned from a layoff in good order and ought to remain competitive. SEEKING THE ONE could have more to offer after a recent gelding, while MEU CAPITANO is likely to improve after an encouraging comeback effort. CAPTAIN ARROW ran at Grade 1 level last time and should fare better in this grade, despite carrying a big weight. ALL ABOUT AL is in good form and boasts an impressive record over track and trip, so rates the one to beat with just 54kg and in-form Sean Veale on his back. USA’S HOPE, BEERENBERG and GIMMELIGHTNING (improved latest outing) complete the shortlist.

Selections:

#3 All About Al, #8 Gimmelightning, #1 Axl, #6 Captain Arrow

Best Win: #1 WORLD OF PLEASURE

Best Value Bet: #10 QHAWEKAZI

Best Longshot: #10 QHAWEKAZI
