HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 1, Gallops, 1600m, Poly, R97,500, 12:30GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: DUCHESS OF GOLD (5) was second best when trying further last run but Robbie Hill’s filly looks well handicapped back over what looks to be a more suitable trip. MAURITANIA (3) was a beaten favourite last run after winning over course and distance at her penultimate start. She is now 6.5kg worse off with Duchess Of Gold for her four-length win. BABY ON BOARD (2) ran well below her best last time put and that run is best ignored however, she is a whopping 6.5kg worse off with Duchess of Gold. HUGSANDHIGHFIVES (4) ran no sort of race behind recent winner Sting Ray last time out. She is lightly raced and Garth Puller has stepped her up to what may be a more suitable tip.

Selections:

#5 DUCHESS OF GOLD, #4 HUGSANDHIGHFIVES, #2 BABY ON BOARD, #3 MAURITANIA

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 2, Gallops, 1400m, Poly, R100,000, 13:05GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: QUANABI (8) was a beaten favourite over course and distance last time out but Richard Fourie has stayed loyal to Wendy Whiteheads filly and although again drawn in gate 8, one can expect a better performance this time around. Quanabi finished behind MISS LIALAH (3) when last they met but Miss Lialah is now 4kg worse off which should be enough to turn the tables. Veteran STAR CHOICE (4) has come good for Frank Robinson, winning her last two but she did get a five-point rise in the handicap which could scupper her chances here. DOLLAR A DIME (7) has her third run back from a break and has come down in the handicap so is one to keep an eye on.

Selections:

#8 QUANABI, #3 MISS LIALAH, #7 DOLLAR A DIME, #4 STAR CHOICE

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 3, Gallops, 1400m, Poly, R100,000, 13:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: MISS PLATINA (5) was much improved first time out for Tienie Prinsloo. The filly is only having her fourth start, second for the stable, and the extra furlong should suit. ACCUMULATE (10) has the worst of the draw but was staying on for third last time out and Richard Fourie stays with the ride. SWEET JULIA (3) found market support on her poly debut and finished a close-up second. A repeat can see her close again. MADAME POMPADOUR (7) has been frustrating to follow and is way better than her recent form would suggest. She gets the services of James Lihaba and his 1.5kg claim and the apprentice has been in mustard form of late.

Selections:

#5 MISS PLATINA, #10 ACCUMULATE, #3 SWEET JULIA, #7 MADAME POMPADOUR

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 4, Gallops, 1400m, Poly, R100,000, 14:20GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Competitive handicap. NOW I GOT YOU (1) has improved with his new stable and has his third outing for Nathan Kotzen. He has been dropping off a once impossibly high rating and had the worst of the draw last time out. He has now drawn pole and the extra furlong should suit. PATRONAGE (2) is never far off them and goes well on this surface while TIME TOGETHER (3) was a close-up second when taking on stronger last time out and 4kg claimer Brevan Plaatjies improves with each ride. THE GLIDING FISH (7) is back on his favourite surface and is better than his last two on the turf.

Selections:

#1 NOW I GOT YOU, #2 PATRONAGE, #3 TIME TOGETHER, #7 THE GLIDING FISH

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 5, Gallops, 1600m, Poly, R100,000, 14:55GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Wide open handicap but ROY’S COMMAND (7) is no slouch on his day and as an older horse Paul Gadsby has declared blinkers for the first time. He was a close-up third last time out and has been improving all the while. QUICK STAR (3) has had two sprint-ups since a lay-off with an inexperienced apprentice aboard. He is up in trip with Jame Lihaba in the irons so one can expect a much improved effort. Veteran FARLAND (9) took on much stronger when winning last time out but does have a wide draw and a five-point ride in the handicap to contend with. However, Doug Campbell has booked Rachel Venniker and her 1.5kg allowance to balance out the rise in the ratings. KHANYISA INDLELA (10) is way better than his last effort. His best recent form has been on the turf but he has also done well on the poly. Alyson Wright’s charge is a kilo down in the ratings.

Selections:

#7 ROY’S COMMAND, #3 QUICK STAR, #9 FARLAND, #10 KHANYISA INDLELA

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 6, Gallops, 1700m, Poly, R100,000, 15:30GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: MEXICAN PETE (5) has been racing in feature company of late and is back in the handicap divisions. He has a fair rating to contend with but the switch to poly and the slightly weaker opposition could see Fran Robinson’s charge back I the winner’s box. But there is plenty of opposition. Fellow three-year-old WINTER GAMES (2) has gone close to the likes of Sanderingham Summit and Quasiforsure and was in need of his last run where Mike Miller had him in blinkers for the first time. The blinkers come off and he steps up to what may well prove to be a more suitable trip. BANZAI PIPELINE (4) goes well over course and distance and Sean Veale will find it hard going to make 52kg which may be an indication of the gelding’s chances. PIRATE PRINCE (1) has the best of the draw and is smart on his day but he has not been out since November last year.

Selections:

#5 MEXICAN PETE, #2 WINTER GAMES, #4 BANZAI PIPELINE, #1 PIRATE PRINCE

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 7, Gallops, 1000m, Poly, R100,000, 16:05GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: LOVE BOMB (5) has had no luck in the handicap. Just when she appears to be off a competitive mark, she finishes second and the handicappers panic and shunt her up the ratings. She got three pounds for her second behind Red Roses Too but that may not be enough to stop her from a deserved fifth victory. The lightly race LE PREMIERE (2) has run her two best races on the poly and is better off in the weights with both VISION OF WILL (4) and KENNEDY (8) on their last meeting. She has the benefit of a better draw and Rachel Venniker’s 1.5kg allowance could make all the difference.

Selections:

#5 LOVE BOMB, #2 LE PREMIERE, #4 VISION OF WILL, #8 KENNEDY

HOLLYWOODBETS GREYVILLE POLYTRACK, 06.03.2024, Race 8, Gallops, 1200m, Poly, R100,000, 16:40GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Duncan Howells holds a useful hand here with FRENCH PRINCESS (10) and POPPY OF BAYEUX (7). French Princess has not been the easiest at home but improved when tried in blinkers. She was in need of her last run and has the widest draw to contend with but has a strong form chance. Poppy Of Bayeux backs up after a good third last Wednesday. She showed good pace but may well prefer the extra furlong. BLUSH OF DAWN (6) has improved in blinkers and has Richard Fourie back in the irons. SWISS PARADE (4) was much improved in blinkers last run and although she runs in cheek pieces this time around a repeat showing should see her in the firing line.

Selections:

#10 FRENCH PRINCESS, #6 BLUSH OF DAWN, #7 POPPY OF BAYEUX, #4 SWISS PARADISE

Best Win: #5 LOVE BOMB

Best Value Bet: #5 MISS PLATINA

Best Longshot: #3 QUICK STAR
