France Form Sheet – 13th February

Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DE LA SARRIETTE – 2100m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Class 3 – Flat – EUR € 15,000

1. TAMARISKE – Won well by 3.5L at Lyon La Soie 20 days ago over 2150m in a Class 3 race on
the PSF. Should be too good for her rivals
2. AL BARQ – 2nd to TAMARISKE (1) when they met on January 24th over 2150m on the PSF.
Has work to do but can play a lead role
3. BRANDYWINE – Fair 3rd at Chantilly over 1900m when last seen on October 26th in a
handicap. Consider
4. GAODIO – Unplaced in a Listed race last time, 3rd before that in a Class 1 race over 1900m in
May at Bordeaux Le Bouscat. In the mix
5. UNE DE BONNEVEINE – Two unplaced runs so far, the latter over 2600m on January 4th on
the PSF. Avoidable

Summary: TAMARISKE (1) won by 3.5L at Lyon La Soie 20 days ago on the PSF and meets her
main rival again today AL BARQ (2) who was second that day on the same weight terms. She
should be able to win again back on turf. GAODIO (4) is not out of calculations, he was not quite
up to Listed level last time but has solid form in Class 1 races and won a Class 2 race in March.
He warrants respect.

SELECTIONS
TAMARISKE (1) – AL BARQ (2) – GAODIO (4) – BRANDYWINE (3)

R2 – PRIX DES PINS PARASOLS – 2100m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 12,000

1. DABASIR – Two unplaced runs of late, fair 3rd before that on the PSF in early January over
2000m in a handicap. One to keep safe
2. LORD MIESQUE – Has several unplaced runs since a win over 1400m at Niort in mid-October
in a maiden race. Unlikely
3. YOUNG GENTLEMAN – 4th last time was over 2000m 12 days ago at Cagnes-Sur-Mer in a
claimer. Ought to make a bold bid for success
4. RUBY IN THE ROCKS – Decent 3rd two runs ago at Cagnes-sur-Mer over 1600m on January
18th in a claimer. Player
5. CORALBA – Unplaced on the sole run to date over 1500m on January 21st. Drops to claimer
level but others preferred
6. I HAVE THE TOUCH – Unplaced last time, won a maiden over 1700m three runs ago on
September 24th. Drops into claiming class for the first time and warrants respect
7. LA CARRA – Three unplaced runs so far in maiden races, the latter over 2150m on January
3rd. Hard to fancy
8. ZHANNA – 7th last time in a claimer only 12 days ago over 2000m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer. Makes
limited appeal
9. TESUMI – Two recent unplaced runs, 4th before that over 2150m on January 3rd on the PSF.
Others more likely

Summary: Top-rated RUBY IN THE ROCKS (4) is more than capable of taking this claiming
event. She ran a solid race two starts ago over 1600m when she was third at Cagnes -Sur-Mer in
January and should score from the probable main threat YOUNG GENTLEMAN (3) who is lightly
raced and could have more improvement to come. I HAVE THE TOUCH (6) is a maiden race
winner and looks the best each-way option. DABASIR (1) is capable but needs things to go his
way to be competitive.

SELECTIONS
RUBY IN THE ROCKS (4) – YOUNG GENTLEMAN (3) – I HAVE THE TOUCH (6) – DABASIR
(1)

R3 – PRIX DES CEDRATS – 1200m (a6f) – TURF – Class 2 – Flat – EUR € 22,000

1. SWING FOR ME – Solid effort when 2nd in a Class 1 race last time on January 27th over
1300m. Sets the standard
2. VICTORY SALUTE – Won on the PSF on November 27th when last seen over 1500m in a
Class 3 event. Has won at Class 2 level before. Merits consideration
3. INVESTISSEUR – 5th in a Class 1 race last time over 1300m 17 days ago at Cagnes-Sur-Mer.
One to pay attention too
4. ROCK BOY – Outclassed in a Group 1 race last time, but won the Prix Djebel (Gr.3) in April
2022 at Deauville over 1400m before that. Course winner before. Leading chance
5. HAYEJOHN – 2nd two runs ago at Deauville in a claimer over 1300m at the end of December.
Hardly inspiring
6. MANAROLA – 4th last time over 1350m in a Class 3 handicap at Lyon Parilly on November
9th. Might find this difficult

Summary: SWING FOR ME (1) probably has the best current form and in a competitive Class 2
race he is the marginal pick after a decent 2nd in a Class 1 race 17 days ago over 1300m at
Cagnes-Sur-Mer. ROCK BOY (4) has the best form but has been off the track since May 2022, so
question marks are raised on how fully tuned he is for this race. VICTORY SALUTE (2) is also
worth considering after scoring on the PSF in a Class 3 race when last seen in late November.

SELECTIONS
SWING FOR ME (1) – ROCK BOY (4) – VICTORY SALUTE (2) – INVESTISSEUR (3)

over 1200m. Player
3. BELLAELO – Won over 1300m at Cagnes-sur-Mer on January 21st last time in a maiden race.
Honest performer who is sure to be competitive
4. LOUIS DE LA KLAUSS – Yet to win but has plenty of placed efforts, the most recent was when
3rd over 1300m on January 21st in a maiden race. Consider
5. SENZA TE – Fair 4th at Cagnes-Sur-Mer last time over 1300m in a handicap 15 days ago.
Ought to be in the shake-up
6. SANARYEN – 5th last time in a handicap 15 days ago over 1300m at Cagnes-Sur-Mer. Others
seem more likely
7. PRETTY BERRY – 3rd at Deauville in a claimer over 1300m on December 29th when last
racing. Usually on the premises and has outside place claims
8. LOYAL PRINCE – Has five unplaced runs of late, 4th before that over 1000m at Vichy in July in
a Class 2 race. Needs to get back to form

Summary: BELLAELO (3) got a deserved success last time over 1300m in late January after
some consistent efforts. She can win again from her main danger GOGOKA (2) who is seeking a
hat-trick with the most recent success at Fontainebleau in early November. SENZA TE (5)
should have a say in the proceedings after a credible run last time when fourth over 1300m at
Cagnes-Sur-Mer. LOUIS DE LA KLAUSS (4) makes up the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
BELLAELO (3) – GOGOKA (2) – SENZA TE (5) – LOUIS DE LA KLAUSS (4)

R5 – PRIX DU MAQUIS – 1700m (a1m 1/8) – TURF – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 14,000

2022. Needs to be considered from an each-way perspective
3. LILY APPLE – Three unplaced runs since a win at Cavaillon over 1600m in a Class 4 race in
early October. Ought to be thereabouts
4. GOLDEN BEACH – Credible 2nd at Marseille Pont Vivaux over 2000m in a Class 4 handicap
last time on January 9th. Bold show likely
5. SIBUYU – Three unplaced runs of late, 2nd before that in a Class 4 race behind LILY APPLE
(3) in early October over 1600m. Hard to recommend
6. LA FILLE DE BERLIN – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that over 2000m in a Class 4 race at
Pau on December 23rd. Among the leading chances
7. LADY VALOU – Has five unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that over 1600m at Saint-Cloud in

Class 4 race. Avoidable
11. CRAZYVORES – Has shown very little form for some time, the latest run was on January 24th
when well beaten in a Class 4 handicap over 1800m. Opposable

Summary: Veteran performer ENJOY THE SILENCE (9) has a good chance to get back into the
winner’s enclosure after a decent fourth over 1500m in a Class 4 handicap last time in late
January. GOLDEN BEACH (4) will do his best to beat the selection and showed his well-being
when second over 2000m last time in early January. PRINCESSE VERA (1) is one for the eachway backers to look at off top-weight. LA FILLE DE BERLIN (6) heads the remainder.

SELECTIONS
ENJOY THE SILENCE (9) – GOLDEN BEACH (4) – PRINCESSE VERA (1) – LA FILLE DE
BERLIN (6)

R6 – PRIX DU THYM – 1700m (a1m 1/8) – TURF – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 16,000

1. RABBAH – Two unplaced runs since a win at this track over 2000m in March 2022 in a
handicap. One to consider
2. SELKET – Showed more when 5th last time in a Class 4 race on January 21st after dropping
7.5kg in the ratings. Place chance
3. THE MANAGER – 4th in a Class 4 race last time over 2000m on January 23rd. Previous

October. Opposable

handicap. Has eased 6kg since scoring in November 2022. Ought to be involved

2000m. Can feature
12. LAUENEN – 2nd two runs ago over 2000m at Pau on January 14th in a Class 4 handicap.
Needs a few to falter

Summary: Although she does not win very often MAPLE GIRL (9) could get back into the
winning groove in this handicap will not take too much to be successful. She has placed form at
this track in November when second over today’s 1700m journey. Her main rival could be THE
MANAGER (3) who also has placed form at this venue recently in October. SELKET (2) is one to
include in all of the place bet permutations. RABBAH (1) warrants respect despite top-weight.

SELECTIONS
MAPLE GIRL (9) – THE MANAGER (3) – SELKET (2) – PRINCE LOS (11)

over 1600m. Lightly raced and has more to come

12. TURTLE CHOPE – Three unplaced runs of late, won before that over 1600m in a Class 4
handicap at Lyon Parilly. Hard to be enthusiastic about

Summary: FEEL EMOTION (7) is the tentative selection in an open handicap. She scored on the
PSF two runs ago in December and can edge this from TRIPLE TROUBLE (9) who has some
talent. His third at Parislongchamp two runs ago was a good effort and if emulating that he can be
on the premises. MI C’INFILO (1) and VENES (6) both warrant respect and are both capable of
being involved at the business end.

SELECTIONS
FEEL EMOTION (7) – TRIPLE TROUBLE (9) – MI C’INFILO (1) – VENES (6)
