R1 – PRIX MAGICIENNE – PELETON A – 2000m (a1m 1/4) – ALL WEATHER – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 16,000
1. ICHAMUN KERFLY – Unraced colt by Al Mamun Monalau- from a shrewd stable who can
ready a newcomer. Watch the betting for clues
2. JAWAA DU BREUIL – Unraced filly by Al Mourtajez, stable runners should be better for a run
or two normally. Any market support should be noted
3. NAH’ASH AL SHAHANIA – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 1600m in mid-July at
Mont-De-Marsan. Can be on the premises
4. TAREQ – 4th at Pau on December 13th on the sole run. Can improve for the race experience
and ought to be involved
5. JAOUHAR GRINE – 2nd at Pau over 2000m on the only run to date in mid-December. Should
be sharper for that good debut run and a bold show likely
6. MIGUELITO – Unplaced last time, 4th before that on November 20th at Toulouse over 2100m.
Has experience but others seem more likely
7. JALAAD AL SHAHANIA – Fair 3rd at Toulouse on November 26th when last seen over 2000m
in a Listed AP race. In the mix
8. FIFRE AL MAURY – 3rd last time at Pau on December 13th over 2000m. Seems to be
progressing and ought to be thereabouts
9. KARAKIA DU PRELAT – Four unplaced runs so far, the latter at Pau over 1600m on
December 13th. Makes very little appeal
10. GASSAAN – 6th on the sole start over 2000m at Pau on December 13th. Can improve but
others are preferred
11. ALAIA DES FORGES – Nice 3rd on the only run over 2000m at Pau on December 13th. With
improvement, she can play a lead role
12. KALINE DE LA CERE – Newcomer by No Risk Al Maury, from a good stable and warrants
respect. Monitor the betting for clues
13. ARE’EJ – Newcomer by Dariya, might be better for this experience. The betting can be the
best guide
Summary: With a solid effort in a Listed AP race last time when third at Toulouse in late
November, JALAAD AL SHAHANIA (7) should be too smart for his rivals. JAOUHAR GRINE (5)
could pose the most problems for the selection after a good debut run when second at Pau in
mid-December and can make progress from that run. FIFRE AL MAURY (8) was 0.75L back in
third in the Pau race and is in the mix again today. ALAIA DES FORGES (11) could fare best of
the remainder.

racing. Could be a kilo or two too high at the moment in the weights
2. DOCTOR RON – 3rd in the same race that FLY D’ASPE (4) was 2nd in at Pau on January 4th
over 1600m when last seen. Has only 1L to make up and is one to consider
3. NATURAL PATH – Three unplaced runs since a win at Sanlucar(ESP) over 1400m in late
August. Opposable
4. FLY D’ASPE – Nice 2nd at Pau last time on January 4th over 1600m in a Class 3 handicap.
Form pick
5. OXALIS – Has eased in the ratings since a win at Vichy in late August over 1600m in a Class 3
race. Can not be overlooked
6. EL TORERO – 5th last time on January 4th over 1600m at Pau in a Class 3 race. Can make
the top four
7. LARIS – Two unplaced runs of late, 5th before that at Pau in early December in a Class 3 race
over 1600m. Needs a few to falter
8. PASSALITO – 4th at Pau over 1400m 9 days ago in a Class 3 handicap. Looking for win
number six and is in the mix
9. LAUPER – 6th in a Class 3 handicap at Pau over 1600m last time and a winner at this track
before that in December. Others seem more likely
10. ABELARD F – Unplaced last time, 3rd before that at Deauville on December 20th over 1500m
in a Class 4 race. Place chance
11. KENDAYA – Ran well when 3rd at Pau in a Class 3 handicap on January 22nd. Lightly raced
and has more to come
12. NUIT D’ALIENOR – Two unplaced runs of late, 3rd before that over 1600m at Pau in
November in a Class 3 handicap. More needed to feature
13. JUBILE – Fair effort when 4th at Pau 15 days ago over 1600m in a Class 4 race. Can make
the top four
14. WAIPA – Won a Class 3 handicap at Pau on January 4th when last racing. Others could be
more favourably handicapped
15. CHAAM – 5th at Pau in a Class 4 race on January 8th over 2000m last time. Outside place
chance
16. SHOWMAN – Has four unplaced runs of late, won before that over 1500m at Vannes in a
Class 4 race. More needed in a better race
Summary: FLY D’ASPE (4) has been performing well of late and is the marginal selection after a
good second at this track last time on January 4th. He can shade this from KENDAYA (11) who
has also got decent form at this racecourse having finished third over 1400m at this track 9 days
ago. She will not lack for fitness. EL TORERO (6) and DOCTOR RON (2) are both capable
performers and look like good options for the each-way backers.

2. KHAN DU NIL – 5th on the last three runs, the latter at Pau over 2000m on December 13th
over 2000m. Others make more appeal
3. ECLIPSE DU SOLEIL – Fair 3rd at Toulouse over 2100m in early October on only his second
run to date. Can not be ruled out
4. NEMR – Nice 5th on the sole run to date at Pau on December 13th over 1600m. Should be
fitter for that outing and be on the premises
5. ALJARF – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 2500m at Agen in early November on his
debut. One to pay attention too
6. NIMROD – Two unplaced runs, the latest at Pau over 2000m in mid-December in a maiden
race. Opposable
7. EVEREST DES CEDRES – Unplaced on the sole start at Pau on December 13th over 2000m.
Needs vast improvement to be involved
8. SW MYTHAQ – 4th at Pau on December 13th over 2000m when last racing. Needs a few of
these to falter
9. MOURRISA – Ran well when 5th at Pau over 2000m on December 13th on her only start. Can
make the frame
10. AL GHAYIR D’ESCAMPS – Newcomer by Af Albahar, stable runners tend to improve for a
run or two. Best watched in the betting for clues
11. ZEINAAH – Nice debut run when 2nd at Pau over 2000m on December 13th. Can improve for
that outing and play a lead role
12. KHULUD – Newcomer by Dariya, should be wiser for this outing. Monitor the betting for clues
Summary: PETITE AATIKA (1) has been a model of consistency of late with numerous placed
efforts. She deserves to get her head in front today. ZEINAAH (11) will have learned a good deal
from her promising debut second on this track last month and is one for the shortlist. NEMR (4)
shaped well on his sole run over 1600m and will be sharper for that outing. MOURRISA (9) has
also only had one run to date and will be wiser for her fifth-placed effort at this track last month.

R4 – PRIX PMU HENRI PHILIPPE – MAZERES-LEZONS (PRIX D’ARAUJUZON) – 1600m (a1m) – ALL WEATHER – Class 4 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 16,000
1. ROYAL VATI – A well-performed veteran who was runner-up in a similar event (handicap) over
course and distance on 4 January. Winning chance
2. VICTORY CAT – Consistent hard-knocking mare who bounced back to form with this headgear
fitted to finish 3rd in a similar contest over track and trip on 4 January. Candidate for success
3. LIEBE KINDER – Was a disappointing 9th over course and distance last time but was in good
form before that – finished 2nd in three of his five previous outings, including twice over track and
trip. Keep safe
4. FEELIN LUCKY – Soundly beaten in each of her last 5 starts, including back-to-back outings in
2000m handicaps at this venue recently. Others preferred
5. SOLITARY MAN – Has regained his form and consistency in three starts over track and trip,
finishing 3rd in consecutive outings before his last-start 4th on 4 January. Will be a factor
6. MYTHICAL CREATURE – Finished 3rd in a 1500m PSF handicap at Deauville two starts back
but failed to confirm that form when only 13th last time. Needs to reaffirm
7. TREIZE CHOPE – Inconsistent and out of sorts at present. Finished 10th in a PSF handicap
over 2000m at this venue last time and can be ruled out here
8. AL RASSOUL – A veteran of 114 starts and eight victories, including over course and distance.
Must bounce back from a disappointing 10th over 1500m at Deauville last month but has the
means to do so back at Pau
9. LA CATELLA – Honest veteran mare who is probably more effective on turf, having been
soundly beaten on PSF in her last two starts. Watch for now
10. BOUJOC – Last-start winner on turf at San Sebastian in August. One to watch on his
reappearance back on French soil
11. BLACK PANTHER – Inconsistent mare who won a 1700m PSF handicap at Pornichet two
starts back but struggled under a penalty last time (13th). Outsider
12. VERDINA – Unplaced in each of her last five outings in handicaps at this level, so is hard to
make a case for. Others preferred
13. THE FUNK BIBLE – Has been off the boil for some time now, finishing downfield in each of
his last 4 starts in handicaps at this venue. Hard to recommend
14. SALSA DOLOISE – Unreliable veteran mare with sufficient means, seldom finishes far off the
mark on a going day but has to reaffirm after a disappointing (11th) last start. Outsider
15. KENZOKI – Ran well off higher ratings in the past but has lost his way and dropped to a
career-low mark. Has made no impression in each of his last three outings at this level, so can be
overlooked
Summary: Veteran ROYAL VATI (1) finished 2nd over track and trip on 4 January and, on the
evidence of that display, is good value to register a 5th success on this course. VICTORY CAT
(2) was 3rd over this course and distance in her last start and, although yet to win at this venue, is
likely to fight for victory. SOLITARY MAN (5) has the means to join that fight, while the consistent
LIEBE KINDER (3) can never be ignored either. AL RASSOUL (8) completes the shortlist.
