Race Preview

R1 – PRIX DES CITRONNIERS – 2150m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 17,000

1. LOUSTIC BERE – 8th of 14 runners in a good maiden last time and 2nd before that over 1900m
in October on the only other start. Live chance
2. NIZAMABAD – Unplaced on the only run to date over 1400m at Prague (CZE) in September.
Needs to improve vastly to be involved
3. TERRE BLANCHE – Unplaced on the sole run to date earlier this month over 2000m at Marseille
Pont Vivaux. Needs to improve plenty to feature
4. CLASH ROYALE – Won on debut and faired well in Class 2 races on her next two runs, fair effort
in a handicap last time over 2000m on January 20th. In the mix
5. MARGOT THE QUEEN – Looked in need of the race when unplaced on her debut, but can
improve from that run on November 12th and play a lead role
6. PROKOVIEV – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that at Deauville over 1900m on December 28th
in a claimer. Others preferred
7. RATEL KABOWD – 3rd last time was earlier in January over 2150m in a claimer at Cagnes-SurMer. Might find a few of these too smart
8. HIGH WAY – 6th over 2150m on January 20th on her latest run, has shown enough to warrant
a competitive run

Summary: LOUSTIC BERE (1) has shown enough in two runs so far to warrant a bold show in a
drop into a claimer for the first time. MARGOT THE QUEEN (5) showed plenty of inexperience on
her sole run to date and can improve for that outing and should be on the premises. CLASH
ROYALE (4) is the each-way must, she is already a winner and has run credibly since that debut
success. HIGH WAY (8) is also worth considering.

SELECTIONS
LOUSTIC BERE (1) – MARGOT THE QUEEN (5) – CLASH ROYALE (4) – HIGH WAY (8)

R2 – PRIX DU LANGUEDOC – 2150m (a1m 1/4) – TURF – Class 2 Divided Handicap – Flat – EUR € 53,000

1. L’ACAJOU – Has been running well and was a good 3rd in a Class 1 at Deauville on December
28th over 1900m. Bold show likely
2. ALMANZORA – Nice 3rd in a Class 2 race on January 15th over 2150m when last seen. Can
have a say
3. BELAFONTE – Unplaced on the last two runs, 3rd before that over 1800m in mid-November in
a Class 1 race. Hard to rule out
4. MAGELLAN – Good 3rd two runs ago over 2000m at Compiegne at the end of August and will
strip fitter for the run at Chantilly earlier this month. Player
5. BEAUTIFUL MEMORY – Has been in good shape, a nice 3rd in a Class 2 race over 2400m in
mid-October at Lyon La Soie when last appearing. Consider
6. NEW RULER – Nice 4th in a Class 2 race on November 24th when last seen. Lightly raced and
has plenty more to come
7. GOGUEN SPAISE – Four unplaced runs of late, 4th at Chantilly in late March over 2100m in a
handicap before that. Can be passed over
8. DIANE’STAR – 3rd two starts ago over 1800m in late November in a handicap at Salon Provence.
Makes limited appeal
9. VIDALGO – Won over 2400m in a Class 4 race on January 3rd at Lyon la Soie when last seen.
Place chance
10. WUKHANN – 3rd over 2500m in a Class 3 handicap when last seen on January 18th. Usually
involved at the business end
11. CLAY – Unplaced last time, won before that over 2150m on November 22nd. Needs a few of
these to falter
12. INCLINATION – Unplaced on the last two runs, won before that in mid-October over 2200m at
Fontainebleau. Looks vulnerable
13. ONE POINT – Unplaced last time, won before that over 2400m at Clairefontaine in mid-October.
Others make more appeal
14. MORPHEWAN – Unplaced last time, won before that at Compiegne in early October over
2000m in a handicap. Opposable
15. LA MAZEL – 2nd on the PSF in a Class 3 handicap over 2000m on January 9th last time. Can
feature
16. ISLA DEL SOL – Has won two of her last three runs, the latter on November 14th at Chantilly
over 1900m. More required in a strong race

Summary: It could be worth taking a chance on one at attractive odds in this competitive race.
NEW RULER (6) has a nice racing weight and should be value in the betting market. He is lightly
raced and has plenty more to come. MAGELLAN (4) will be sharper for a run earlier this month
having been off the track for 5 months. He is capable of making the selection work hard.
ALMANZORA (2) has plenty of weight but is one for the each-way backers to look at closely.
L’ACAJOU (1) makes up the shortlist.

SELECTIONS
NEW RULER (6) – MAGELLAN (4) – ALMANZORA (2) – L’ACAJOU (1)

R3 – PRIX DE LA PROMENADE DES ANGLAIS – 1300m (a6f 1/2) – TURF – Handicap – Flat – EUR € 28,000

1. LA BELLE POETE – Good 3rd over 1300m in a Class 2 race at Deauville on December 21st
when last seen. Can make an impact

and consistent form before that. Each-way option
3. REVERSO – Fair 5th in a handicap at Deauville on the 6th of January over 1300m last time and
fair form before that. Sets the standard
4. LIKING – Fair effort when 4th over 1300m at Deauville last time on January 6th. Among the
leading chances
5. SENZA TE – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that over 1100 in late October at Le Croise Laroche.
Opposable
6. SANARYEN – 4th over 1500m on January 4th on the PSF in a maiden when last seen. Hard to
fancy
7. TEMPLETON – Four unplaced runs so far, the latest on January 13th over 1600m in a handicap.
Makes limited appeal
8. DASHKA – Unplaced last two runs, 4th before that in mid-August over 1300m at Deauville in a
claimer. Others seem more likely

Summary: REVERSO (3) ran well at Deauville when fifth earlier this month over 1300m and had
solid form before that. He can score from LA BELLE POETE (1) who has top weight after several
pleasing efforts including a nice third in a Class 2 race last time at Deauville. UN INSTANT (2) has
his quirks but is talented and can make the top three if in the right frame of mind. LIKING (4) heads
the remainder.

SELECTIONS
REVERSO (3) – LA BELLE POETE (1) – UN INSTANT (2) – LIKING (4)

chance

race on the latest run. Hard to ignore
4. ELEGATO – Two unplaced runs of late, 4th in late August at Deauville over 1400m before that.
Avoidable
5. OISSEL – Three unplaced runs recently, 4th over 1300m in late February before that in a Class
3 handicap. More needed
6. MANDARIN – Unplaced last time, 2nd before that at Prague (CZE) over 1600m in late June.
Ought to be involved
7. RISE ABOVE – 2nd over 1100m in a handicap on September 19th when last seen. Has fitness
concern and others are preferred
8. KAMETA – Three unplaced runs recently, 4th before that at Le Touquet over 1300m in late July.
Place chance
9. GOLDANIA – 4th at Lyon La Soie over 1800m in early December in a Class 3 handicap when
last racing. Might find a few too smart
10. GRAY D’ALBION – Two runs of late without troubling the judge, 2nd before that over 1500m in
late November on the PSF. Hard to recommend
11. INDYCO – 2nd in a claimer two runs ago over 1500m on January 4th on the PSF. Tends to
blow hot and cold but has the talent to score

Summary: INDYCO (11) has more than enough talent to score in this event if in the correct frame
of mind. ELUSIVE FOOT (1) could be the biggest danger, he has some sincere form of late and
rarely runs a bad race. CALIFANO (3) is one for the each-way backers to look at after a pleasing
run last time when third over 1500m in a claimer. MANDARIN (6) is also one to consider from an
each-way perspective.

SELECTIONS
INDYCO (11) – ELUSIVE FOOT (1) – CALIFANO (3) – MANDARIN (6)

1. CORTEZ BANK – 3rd two runs ago on the PSF over 2000m on December 12th in a Class 3
handicap. Can be involved
2. JOEY UP – Capable on his day of making an impact, won a Class 3 race at Deauville in February
2023 and ought to be thereabouts
3. MANADA – Won over 2400m at Lyon La Soie in late November in a handicap last time. In the
shake-up
4. PALATINA – Unplaced in a Class 2 race last time, fair effort when 2nd in a Listed race at MunichReim ( Germany) before that on November 25th over 2200m. Class drop and should be good
enough
5. ETERNAL OPTIMIST – 3rd last time in a Class 4 race over 2400m on January 20th. Needs a
few of these to falter
6. STALLONE – Unplaced last time, 4th before that over 2000m at Saint-Cloud on November 24th.

Place chance
9. NICOLASA – Three unplaced runs, 2nd before that on her debut at Madrid (ESP) in November
2022. Unlikely

Summary: PALATINA (4) has been racing in much better quality races of late and with a big class
drop she could be the one to beat. CORTEZ BANK (1) could be the main rival in a race where a
large portion of the field have been inconsistent of late. MANADA (3) arrives after success at Lyon
La Soie and can once again play a leading role. JOEY UP (2) won a Class 3 race in February 2023
and if emulating that win he will have a say in proceedings.

SELECTIONS
PALATINA (4) – CORTEZ BANK (1) – MANADA (3) – JOEY UP (2)
