1. CHERI MAN – Not disgraced when fourth last time out over 2000m on this surface earlier this
month. Not out of it
2. LUCKY WINE – Showed promise when fourth on debut at Chantilly in September. Has a winning
chance if fit
3. WELCOME CHARLY – Not disgraced when fourth on this surface at Chantilly over 1600m in
October. Returns from a break but can win if fit
4. MQSE DE POMPADOUR – Fourth of six runners on her turf debut last year over 2000m Drops
in distance and tries the PSF. Not out of it
5. ATTENTIVE – Did not show much on debut last year but returned from a break and ran a better
race when fourth last time out. Place chance
6. LIBERTE – Ran well in her first two starts which were on the grass. Did not do as well in two
starts on the PSF. Others are preferred
Summary : WELCOME CHARLY (3) has held his form well and was not disgraced when fourth
last time out at Chantilly. He returns from a break but does appear to set the standard for this race.
LUCKY WINE (2) ran well on debut at Chantilly but on the turf in September. He tries the PSF
returning from a break and should be a threat. CHERI MAN (1) and MQSE DE POMPADOUR (4)
both ran well on debut and are capable of winning with improvement likely.

1. JUSSIFER – Poor recent efforts and other runners are preferred in this line-up. Pass by
2. THE MANAGER – Ignore the latest effort at Marseille-Vivaux over 2000m on the 19th of
December. The previous two runs at track resulted in a runner-up and third. Good chance
3. EL BNOUD – Placed seventh at Pornichet-La Baule over 1700m on the 7th of January. Can
contest the finish
4. LES ALDUDES – Since returning from a break has not made the frame but when last in this
class was a winner. Can get involved at the finish
5. LAKE NAIVASHA – Ignore the latest at Deauville on the 21st of December over 1700m. Previous
runs were solid and can play a minor role
6. ASHWARI – She placed fifth at the track on the 4th of January over this distance on the PSF.
Has sufficient means to fight for victory
7. KARYNIA – Has not won for some time and would be a shock winner. Others are preferred
Summary : THE MANAGER (2) is better than the last run would suggest. He likes this course and
can make a bold bid at scoring. ASHWARI (6) finished well last time out and should get involved
with the finish this time around. LES ALDUDES (4) has won at this level before and deserves some
respect. EL BNOUD (3) could improve and make the frame.

1. ROCQUEMONT – Fourth in the latest at Marseille-Borely on the 12th of November. Has been
on a short break and this might have been what is needed. Respect
2. SUNFAST – Last seen on the 26th of November when eighth at Toulouse. First trying the PSF
and this might not suit
3. CHOUAIN – Probably needed the run back after a 2 year absence. Improvement needed before
selecting
4. LAOS – The last two efforts placed fifth and latest at Marseille-Vivaux on the 4th of January over
2600mm. A track winner last January and can do so again
5. JACKSUN – Only placed once last year and must be considered an outsider. Others are
preferred
6. COPPER – Last seen on the 14th of October and if ready can go close. Capable of contesting
the finish
7. JOH SPIRIT – Unplaced in latest effort and will have to do more to make the frame. Others are
preferred
8. OLYMPIC DREAM – Latest at the track on the 15th of January over 2500m placed sixth. Should
enjoy the PSF and can have a say
9. CUNCERTO – Returned after a five-month absence at Lyon-La Sole and probably needed it.
Might still need it
10. CHEEK TO CHEEK – The last two efforts are best to ignore and expect improvement. Should
make a bold bid
11. GRAND BALCON – At Deauville on the 21st of December placed third over 1900m. Has placed
eleven times so is consistent and similar can be expected. Go close
12. RIDWAAN – Returned at Marseille-Vivaux on the fourth of January when eighth. Has not placed
on this surface. Others are preferred
13. VAYDENA – Since winning in September has not placed and will have to do more to make the
frame
14. LIGHTED GLORY – Seventh in the latest at Marseille-Vivaux on the 4th of January. Capable
of significant progress and can contest the finish
15. LOU MAN – Fourth at Deauville on the 20th of December over 2500m and a winner of previous.
Improved when a change of stable and can go close
16. AUENWOLF – The latest effort on the 15th of January at the track resulted in a fifth place. Can
play a minor role at best
Summary : CHEEK TO CHEEK (10) is clearly unreliable but is capable of scoring when in the
mood and deserves the utmost respect this course and distance. LIGHTED GLORY (14) is capable
of better than the recent form suggests and is best around this distance. GRAND BALCON (11) is
consistent and coming off a good third at Deaville so has to be consisdered. ROCQUEMONT (1)
returns from a break but is not out of it.

1. FRENCH DEFENSE – A runner-up at Deauville in the latest on the 16th of November over 1300m
on the PSF earlier this month.Can break the maiden tag
2. PRINCE GEORGE – Poor recent efforts and would be a shock winner. Others are preferred in
this line up
3. ARCUBIATU – Trying Australian blinkers for the first time and this may assist. Last two efforts
has not been far off them and can be involved with the finish
4. IDAMANTE – A change of stable and been on a short break. Yet to taste victory but has placed
four times. Might place
5. CALYPSO – At Deauville on the 28th of December placed third and was a runner-up in the
penultimate start. Knocking on the door and can go close again
6. LUNA DE PLATA – At Marseille-Vivaux on the 4th of January placed sixth and must show
significant progress to make the frame
7. INDIAN VALLEY – Last seen in May when a runner-up at Vichy. If not needing the run has the
potential to mount a challenge
8. RECORDING ANGEL – Ignore the latest effort at Deauville on the 17th of January when
downfield in twelfth. Was placed third in two previous attempts and can contest the finish
9. CALEDONIA – On the 10th of December placed eighth and will have to improve on that effort to
make the frame
10. MAGICAL LOVE – Yet to make the frame and others are preferred for the win.
11. MANDLYX LOVE – A four-year-old gelding by Manduro out of Madly in Love who makes his
debut. Watch betting
12. ANNASHABA – A four-year-old filly by Manduro out of Catushaba who makes her debut.

Summary : FRENCH DEFENSE (1) has yet to win a race but has been runner-up seven times in
eleven starts. Surely a winning turn is overdue. CALYPSO (5) has run well twice in a row and can
fight out the finish again. RECORDING ANGEL (8) is better than the last run would suggest and
was in good form before that. Can bounce back to be a threat. INDIAN VALLEY (7) returns from a
lengthy break but is not out of it if fit.

can have a minor role
2. GRIEGOS – Very consistent in claiming races and has a chance at the win. Latest effort on the
6th of December placed third. Place chance
3. VALYRIAN STEEL – Been on a break since 20th September and might need the run after the
break. Others are preferred
4. WOODY WOOD – Performed well when having a first start in France when third at the track over
2000m. Very consistent and can go close
5. ALPAGE – Trying a claiming event and is bound to have many followers. Won penultimate start
and can win this as well
6. GEOPOLITIC – On the 18th of January at track placed fourth over 2000m. Seldom far off them
and similar can be expected. Place chance
7. MATT MACHINE – Placed sixth at Marseille-Vivaux on the 4th of January over 1500m and was
a runner-up in the penultimate. One to consider
8. DIVA DU DANCING – Last seen on the 25th of November when fifth and has a lightweight.
Always thereabouts and has sufficient means to fight for victory
9. SURPRIZE ME – A winner in September that has had three runs since and has not placed. More
will be needed
10. FOLLOW YOU – On the 11th of January in a return run placed tenth at Lyon-La Sole and must
improve to feature
11. TOTAL KNOCKOUT – Has had a run back from a break and has not been in the best of form.
Improvement will be needed to make the frame
12. SOLAIRE – Poor recent efforts after returning from a break and will have to progress to make
the frame
Summary : The last run on PSF from ALPAGE (5) is best ignored. He should be a very big player
in tis division. DIVA DU DANCING (8) is usually not far behind and can contest te finish again.
WOODY WOOD (4) ran well on French debut and could have more to offer. MATT MACHINE (7)
was runner-up in his penultimate start and that should be good enough form to run well this time
around.

1. LOVERS DAY – Ignore the last on the 4th of January. Very consistent before the last effort and
ought to be right there at the finish
2. EMBRACE ADVERSITY – Winner at Marseille-Vivaux on the 9th of January over 1500m for the
fourth career win. Looking to make it three in a row
3. LASAIR – Placed sixth in lastest at Marseille-Vivaux on the 9th of January over 1500m. This will
be third run back and should be fitter
4. WIKENDA – Beaten in the latest by Embrace Adversity but has a chance at making the frame
5. QUEEN SINGER – A winner of the latest at Marseille-Vivaux on the 4th of January over 1500m.
Can play a minor role
6. VITESSE – At Marseille-Vivaux placed sixth over 1500m on the 19th of December in a handocap.
Can have a say in this line-up
7. XAARINE – On the 21st of December at Deauville placed fourth over 1300m. Has placed three
times from eight starts and is not out of it
8. NASDAQ – On the 10th of December placed fourth at Pau over 1600m.Should do a lot better
this time. Big chance
9. ASTRA DREAM – Placed third in a handicap on the 19th of December at Marseille-Vivaux and
is seldom far off them. Place chance
10. TEMPO – At Cagnes-sur-Mer on the 17th of January placed ninth and more will be needed to
make the frame
11. RUE MIA – When last seen in June was a runner-up at Lyon-Parilly and might need the run
back after the break
12. BOWMAKERS – Yet to trouble the judge in three starts to date and others are preferred
13. DO IT FOR ME – At the track on the 18th of January over 1600m placed fourth and is seldom
far off the placed runners. Might play a minor role
14. HOUBI – Fifth at Marseille-Vivaux on the 9th of January and similar at best can be expected
Summary : NASDAQ (8) has run well and fourth in all three starts and is likely to do even better
trying a handicap. VITESSE (6) was not disgraced when sixth in first handicap and will step up on
that and be a threat to these rivals. XAARINE (7) is consistent and clearly not out of it. LOVERS
DAY (1) was very consistent before the last effort and can bounce back to score.
