Former Singapore galloper LOVING BABE appears on target to maintain his unbeaten local record in the 1200m Class 5 contest at Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

Since joining the Selangor stables of Johnny Lim, LOVING BABE has recaptured his best form, posting two wins from as many starts. The gelding resumed from a seven-month break on December 10, scoring over 1275m on the inner track by 1.75 lengths.

A fortnight later, LOVING BABE looked even more impressive, leading throughout to win by 4.75 lengths. Despite carrying an extra 4kg this Sunday, the seven-year-old still has an excellent chance of picking up another Class 5 race.

Wecando can atone

A consistent performer, WECANDO has a genuine chance of returning to the winner’s circle in the 1100m Class 4 race on Sunday.

Since his local debut in October, WECANDO has only missed a place once in four Malaysian outings. The nine-year-old appeared short of a run when finishing unplaced before easily accounting for a Class 4 lineup, winning by 3.75 lengths on November 12.

Seeking redemption after two neck defeats last month, the most recent over 1300m on December 23, WECANDO can quickly atone with the distance drop this weekend.

The Rock an easy tip for Ipoh

Nine-year-old campaigner ROCK ME EASY looks on track to bounce back in the 1200m Class 5 contest at Ipoh on Saturday.

ROCK ME EASY has rejuvenated his ailing career since joining the Peter Lee stable last year, recording two wins and a minor placing from five starts. The gelding recaptured his best form with successive victories in Ipoh back in November when heavily supported on both occasions.

Rock Me Easy is ideally placed to rebound at Ipoh.

ROCK ME EASY will be coming off a seven-day backup when he closed off well from midfield to finish 3rd, beaten by 4.5 lengths over 1300m. The veteran should once again attract market support as he aims for his fifth Malaysian victory.
