France Form Sheet – 22nd November

Race Preview

R1 – PRIX KERAUTEM – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 27.000

1. TIMBER LIGHT – Last-start winner with the form and experience to fight for victory, in spite of
this being his first attempt beyond a mile
2. CONTENTIOUS SOUL – Debut winner who confirmed that promise by finishing to TIMBER
LIGHT (1) last time. Must be respected on that form
3. LORD MIESQUE – Has finished 7th in four of his last five outings, though did win two starts back.
Has a place chance here
4. LUCERO – Quickly established himself by making an impressive winning debut on PSF. Could
do just as well on grass
5. SAUVIAC – Making steady progress. Finished 7th on debut, 6th next time out and 5th in his last
start – more needed here
6. ERIDITA DOVER – Ludovic Gadbin-trained Whitecliffsofdover debutante whose pedigree
suggests she’ll enjoy soft ground. Beware

Summary : Race honours are likely to go the way of either LUCERO (4), who made quite the
impression when winning on PSF first time out, and experienced TIMBER LIGHT (1), who is open
to improvement stretching out beyond a mile for the first time. CONTENTIOUS SOUL (2) has also
revealed potential and is likely to pose a threat. Newcomer ERIDITA DOVER (6) must not be
underestimated and deserves a mention here.

SELECTIONS
LUCERO (4) – TIMBER LIGHT (1) – CONTENTIOUS SOUL (2) – ERIDITA DOVER (6)

R2 – PRIX GEOFFROY DE LA CELLE – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 16.000

1. DSCHINGIS GOLD – Made an encouraging start to his career and would only have improved
since his debut 4th. Keep safe
2. SHERZAL – Built on the promise of his debut 5th by finishing 3rd last time and should have more
to offer stretching out over a longer distance. Rider’s allowance is a big help
3. BEAU PRINCE – Was keen on debut but did not go unnoticed despite finishing 6th on that
occasion. Will be wiser to the task now
4. MARCHE D’ALIGRE – Has displayed sufficient means to be competitive here and is already
proven over this distance. Will fight for the win
5. SPEEDY RECORD – Consistent sort with sound form references and the experience that should
stand him in good stead here. Lurker
6. NICE RULER – Didn’t go unnoticed on debut (6th) and would have gained plenty from that
experience. Can get into the picture
7. LIPTON KA – Axel Baron has been engaged to ride this Recorder gelding on debut for trainer
Paul De Chevigny, who also owns
8. CHEAP – Nicely bred colt out of a Group-placed mare who has already produced foals with race
victories to their names. Respect
9. O’WOOD – Eric Libaud-trained Birchwood gelding to be ridden on debut by Bertrand Flandrin.
Best watched for now
10. RAIL DAWN – Herald The Dawn newcomer who trainer Serge Foucher has booked Christopher
Grosbois to ride. Watch for now
11. L’AMIRAL D’AINAY – A gelded son of Cokoriko making his debut for trainer Julien Jouin, who
has engaged Alexandre Roussel to ride

Summary : Both SHERZAL (2) and MARCHE D’ALIGRE (4) have shown sufficient means in their
two outings to win a race of this nature. However, a slight preference is for the former who benefits
from his rider’s 3,5kg allowance. DSCHINGIS GOLD (1) and BEAU PRINCE (3) should improve
after pleasing introductions and, as such, could join the fight for victory. CHEAP (8) appeals most
of the newcomers.

SELECTIONS
SHERZAL (2) – MARCHE D’ALIGRE (4) – DSCHINGIS GOLD (1) – BEAU PRINCE (3)

R3 – PRIX MERCALLE – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Flat – EUR € 16.000

1. ALTHURAYA – Finished 3rd on debut and improved to finish 2nd at her next start before a
disappointing, though not disgraced, 6th last time. Has proven herself on this surface so ought to
bounce back here
2. TEARDROP EXPLODES – Improving filly who has finished 3rd in consecutive starts, including
at this venue recently. That experience could prove the difference
3. ORIGINAL WAY – Finished an encouraging 3rd on debut and is closely matched with
ALTHURAYA (1) on that form. Should improve for that experience
4. HILLSBORO – Has improved with each start and finished 5th last time, so could get a look in
here with further progress
5. L’AGORA GAME – Ought to improve with the benefit of experience but will need to do so to
feature here. Best watched for now
6. LADYSHOW – Twice 2nd and twice 3rd, including the latest outing, in her last four starts. Has
the form and experience to have a say in the finish
7. STAR OF THE NIGHT – Paul De Chevigny-trained City Light filly to be ridden on debut by
Alexandre Roussel. Not to be underestimated
8. HIGH WAY – Well-related Manduro debutante trained by Henri-Alex Pantall and to be ridden by
Luka Rousseau. One to note
9. LUCRECE DES MOTTES – Christopher Grosbois has been engaged to ride this Storm The Stars
debutante for trainer Julien Jouin. Outsider
10. DJEYNA’S ROCK – Prince Gibraltar debutante to be ridden by Alexis Puchin for trainer Eric
Libaud. Could get into the picture
11. L’ANESTHESISTE – Mathieu Brasme-trained Dschingis Secret filly to be ridden on debut by
Tristan Baron. Not taken lightly

Summary : TEARDROP EXPLODES (2) has improved with each outing and she has also run well
on the track so is good value to open her account with this longer trip likely to unlock further
progress. ALTHURAYA (1), with good form and experience on her side, ORIGINAL WAY (3),
closely matched on form and wiser to the task now after her debut 3rd, and LADYSHOW (6), whose
experience will stand her in good stead, will give cheek to the selection.

SELECTIONS
TEARDROP EXPLODES (2) – ALTHURAYA (1) – ORIGINAL WAY (3) – LADYSHOW (6)
