HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 1, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R80,000, 12:30GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Many first timers so watch the betting but THE SHEPHERD (10) made a promising debut in a race where the form has worked out well. However, at his next intended start he refused to load. He has been gelded since and my just have needed his first run back where he was still green. Back down the straight he could finally get it right. GORGEOUS GUY (2) is way better than his last run when tackling 1400m around the Greyville turn from a wide draw. His best recent form has been down the straight. EL DRAQUE (4) has been knocking hard on the door of late and should get it right soon. He has a 4kg claimer up here which could make all the difference. KUMEMORI (15) had it tough from a wide draw last run. He has some good form over further but can still feature prominently.

Selections:

#10 THE SHEPHERD, #2 GORGEOUS GUY, #4 EL DRAQUE, #15 KUMEMORI

HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 2, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R111,000, 13:00GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: Small but competitive Pinnacles Stakes. The smart filly CANADIAN SUMMER (4) was in need of her seasonal debut where she took on useful opposition. She should come on lengths for the run but Corne Spies saddles WILLIAM ROBERTSON (3) who has been mixing it with the best on the Highveld. He was back in form with a comfortable win last time out and Spies has a good strike rate at Scottsville. PRAY FOR RAIN (1) finished ahead of Canadian Summer when last they met but the filly will enjoy the extra furlong which could see her turn the tables. BOWIE (5) has it tough at the weights but has a handy galloping weight and comes off some good form.

Selections:

#3 WILLIAM ROBERTSON, #4 CANADIAN SUMMER, #1 PRAY FOR RAIN, #5 BOWIE

HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 3, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R80,000, 13:35GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary:  Tricky maiden. PHUTULICIOUS (1) has come on with each run and the step up in trip from the best of the draw could see him home. SPECMAGIC (4) has also come on with each start. He stays the trip and looks primed for this. ISORENDER (7) has improved of late and his best recent effort has been on the turf over a similar trip. He is also lightly raced and can go close. IRISH LUCK (13) made big improvement at long odds at second time of asking but he has a difficult draw. He has a 4kg claimer up and cannot be written off.

Selections:

#1 PHUTULICIOUS, #4 SPECMAGIC, #7 ISORENDER, #13 IRISH LUCK

HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 4, Gallops, 1400m, Turf, R80,000, 14:10GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: LORD WYLIE (3) was close-up to stronger last time out finishing just behind Passage Of Power. He is now 1kg better off in the handicap and from a plum draw can turn the tables. PASSAGE OF POWER (7) has been a model of consistency of late and took on stronger when a beaten favourite last time out giving the winner 5kg. He has another big weight but the extra furlong will suit. BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY (8) is another in good form and was close-up over a similar trip last time out. EL DANTE (10) has drawn wide but is another in good form. He steps up in class but takes some relief in the saddle although the draw is not in his favour.  SOUTHERN SKIES (11) also has a tough draw but is another to consider.

Selections:

#3 LORD WYLIE, #7 PASSAGE OF POWER, #8 BEYONDTHEBOUNDARY, #10 EL DANTE

HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 5, Gallops, 1200m, Turf, R80,000, 14:45GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: It’s difficult to ignore a very much in form stable and BOYANT KNIGHT (1) could continue the Mike Miller’s yard good run. He shed his debut at long odds at second time of asking and can follow up. BENNI IN THE AREA (10) took some time to shed his maiden but has made steady improvement and looks capable of following up on his maiden win. PURPLE POWAHOUSE (6) has his third run after a break. His recent form has been on the poly but he only has 50.5kg on his back. Stable companion JET LEGACY (9) is lightly raced but has shown plenty of ability. He returns from a lengthy break but has taken on stronger.

Selections:

#1 BUOYANT KNIGHT, #10 BENNI IN THE AREA, #6 PURPLE POWAHOUSE, #9 JET LEGACY

HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 6, Gallops, 1000m, Turf, R80,000, 15:20GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: SHOT OF COURAGE (4) was up against much stronger last time out and was possibly a touch unlucky. The apprentice stays aboard and can make amends. ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA (1) has been holding form well. He does go well on the turf although most of his recent form has been on the poly. MCCARTNEY (8) finished just ahead of Anotherdayinafrica when last they met but he may prefer it a furlong further. PRINCEKRESH (7) has been dropping in the handicap and with a 4kg claimer up he should be the surprise package.

Selections:

#4 SHOT OF COURAGE, #1 ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA, #8 MCCARTNEY, #7 PRINCEKRESH

HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 7, Gallops, 1600m, Turf, R80,000, 15:55GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: COMMON GROUNDS (6) is another recent maiden winner but he won with authority when stepped up in trip and he appears to have some scope. MASTER FUEGO (4) was given a hefty handicap rating after his maiden win and had a tough task in his handicap debut. He jumps off the same rating but is back on the course where he shed his maiden with it’s longer run-in. DOCKOFTHEBAY (2) is down in class and improved last run. He could be coming to hand again. IZAPHA (9) won on the poly last time out but has made steady improvement since arriving from the Cape.

Selections:

#6 COMMON GROUNDS, #4 MASTER FUEGO, #2 DOCKOFTHEBAY, #9 IZAPHA

HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE, 19.11.2023, Race 8, Gallops, 1750m, Turf, R80,000, 16:30GMT+2

Race Summary: Summary: THREE STRANDS (10) boasts some smart Highveld form. Corne Spies is raiding with two runners and both have strong chances.  LADY CANTON (9) shed her maiden on this course and has since been running well on the poly. The switch back to turf could be in her favour. SHELL SEEKER (12) has always struck as an under performer but she has shown signs of life at recent outings. The switch to turf and a step up in trip could bring out the best. SHAKEN NO STIRRED (4) had her consistency rewarded last run. She is a tough mare and with a light weight she could go in again.

Selections:

#10 THREE STRANDS, #9 LADY CANTON, #12 SHELL SEEKER, #4 SHAKEN NOT STIRRED

Best Win: #10 THREE STRANDS

Best Value Bet: #3 LORD WYLIE

Best Longshot: #7 PRINCEKRESH
