Race Summary: DONNY TEE ran a good race finishing second on the poly in what was a fast time. If he brings that form to the turf he could go one better. RAPTOR ISLAND again came up for air after setting fast fractions and needs to find just a little more for the win. The shorter 1000m could be what he has been looking for. Watch out for improvement from CONCERTO. He had to overcome a wide draw on debut and on the poly it is an even more arduous task. BIG FIVE may come in for support on local debut as he has shown on the Highveld. LONTANO was raced in a feature, he could show more .

Race Summary: After a promising second place finish FIRE CHASER was taken to the Highveld to compete in a Sales race. She finished a creditable fourth and on that could be hard to beat. DAWN OF GOLD looks a big threat. She had to overcome a wide gate and yet still showed resilience in taking the second cheque in her last race. She is versatile and could get rewarded. If WINNING GRACE doesn’t need it after a rest, she could be concerned with the finish. She didn’t enjoy heavy going last time and has run her best race over this track and trip. LADY D’ARBANVILLE is one of many with scope for improvement.

Race Summary: GIDEON’S DAUGHTER is coming along the right way. She followed up on her turf debut with a cracking run on the poly and even though sprinting well she is bred for this longer trip and more. It could get close between SKY VELOCITY and PONDEROSA PINE who are overdue to score their maiden wins. The former sat too far back when beaten 2.25 lengths by the latter and a set of blinkers could bring them much closer. PONDEROSA PINE was caught very late in that race but needs to confirm the form back on turf. DUMISANI and ELUSIVE MATA have shown potential and could be looking for this distance.

Race Summary: LORD NELSON found his last two races a bit short and prior didn’t seem to enjoy the poly either. He should run a much better race but a wide draw is a bit of a worry. STORM COMMANDER has not drawn well either, but he too could relish being back on turf. He has been threatening in recent starts on the poly. BEAU KALA could lead her field a merry dance if allowed to. She is a strong frontrunner but the longer distance could just stretch her. DOWNING SEVEN held his form before a rest. He runs earlier and that result needs to be checked. MINGSHI and UNCLE GEORGE rate dark horses.

Race Summary: HUMBLE TUNE looks to have regained his best form with blinkers fitted. He enjoyed this course and distance last time and can finally get back to winning ways. TIMBAVATI RIVER followed up on an easy win with a good second to promising youngster Hat’s Pride. He seems to need things to go his way but could just frank the form. After battling to get his maiden win ADMIRAL’S RANSOM suddenly impressed and it could be that he needs this right-handed track. He is, however, dropping in distance but gets a 4kg claim and could still be dangerous. HOMER FIDGET and IRONTAIL can upset.

Race Summary: Rested IDITA has only run in strong races since she started her career and now finds herself best weighted in a Graduation Plate for fillies and mares. Top rider S’manga Khumalo will give her every chance from gate No 1. RIMAAH has also shown she can perform in stronger races but she has also been a bit disappointing. She could have the fitness edge and the track and trip look ideal. CHRONICLESOFNARNIA has drawn widest and along with EASY LIVING has a bit of work to do with top weight. She could, however, take advantage if a fast pace is on. LILLIANA needed her last start and can improve.

Race Summary: FIRST ORIGIN met a revitalised Narcos who went on to win the second leg of the Poly Challenge. He has been improving with each start of late and could have his turn. GIACOMO PUCCINI is also knocking at the door. His merit rating has dropped and it shouldn’t take him long to start winning again. GLOBETONIC has decent form but is switching to turf and the drop in distance may just see him get into it too late. PUTINS PROMISE ran in a star-studded contest last time and could make the exotics pay with a 1.5kg apprentice claim. COOL WINTER, KNIGHTS TABLE and FATHER’S FROST can earn.

Race Summary: MIA REGINA makes her local debut for trainer Alan Greeff and it could be a winning one as she comes into the race in top form. Watch out for TRIOMPHE who won her debut in style. She may not mind the drop in distance and could be anything. It could be the right race for ANGELSEA who has been knocking at the door on turf and poly. She just needs to get the timing right. WINTER JOURNEY gave signs she could be ready to strike. But she has yet to win on the turf. MOONSTRIKE and KILMONIVAIG seem inconsistent but both have some ability and could suddenly come to hand.
