The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has decided to extend the distribution of prizemoney to sixth place in all races from the start of the 2023/24 season.

Last season, prizemoney was paid to the first six placegetters in all 12 of Hong Kong’s Group 1 races and the BMW Hong Kong Derby, while for other races – including Group 2 and Group 3 races – prizemoney was allocated to the first five.

Under the revised schedule, 2% of total prizemoney will be allocated to sixth place in all Hong Kong races.

The Club is constantly reviewing its policies as it strives to improve horse ownership experience for its valued owners and hopes the allocation of prizemoney to sixth place will assist in providing returns on investments.
