Race Preview

R1 – PRIX KRAFFT (PRIX DE LA FORET DE MUNET) – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 17.000

1. WUKHANN – Highest-rated runner in the race. Has maintained a good level of form and
consistency, hard to beat
2. BLAS – Unplaced in consecutive handicap races recently but has sufficient means and should
be competitive here. Include
3. PAS RADINE – Debut winner at this track last year but has failed to confirm (3 starts) since. Can
reaffirm in this grade
4. AIR KISS – Built on his debut 6th to finish 5th last time and with further progress could get into
the picture
5. SAMBA – Finished a modest 8th on debut but would have gained plenty from that experience,
so can do better

Summary : As the highest-rated runner in the race, WUKHANN (1) has to concede weight to all
his rivals but should prove hard to beat nonetheless in his first start in a claiming race. BLAS (2)
has been out of sorts recently but ought to fare better at this level after two failures in handicap
races. PAS RADINE (3) fits a similar profile so will have her supporters too. AIR KISS (4) should
continue to improve and can also get into the picture.

SELECTIONS
WUKHANN (1) – BLAS (2) – PAS RADINE (3) – AIR KISS (4)

R2 – PRIX DE JALIGNY – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Claiming Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 12.000

1. BLACK WALL – Versatile sort, capable on both the turf and PSF. Seldom far off the mark and
should have a say here
2. MONI – Regularly competes at this level and has solid form references. Will be a factor off a
rating below his last winning mark
3. INATTENDU – A winner in this category two starts off a 1kg higher mark, so looks formidable on
these terms. Player
4. ALMANZONE – Inconsistent but has shown sufficient means. Will benefit from the riding of
Maxime Guyon, keep safe
5. MONT STEELE – Consistent for the most part and is confirmed at this level of competition. Not
to be underestimated
6. ANTE POST – Unreliable sort but is not incapable of getting into the picture in a race of this
nature. Dark horse
7. SCORPIO – Disappointing 8th in this grade last time having previously won and finished 2nd in
her two starts at this level. Capable

Summary : A competitive race for a field of few starters. MONI (2)’s experience in these types of
events will stand him in good stead, so he is taken to build on a last-start 5th to fight for victory.
INATTENDU (3) won at this level two starts back and is likely to pose a threat, along with BLACK
WALL (1) who has the means to be competitive in this grade/company. With Maxime Guyon
aboard, ALMANZONE (4) is also dangerous to dismiss.

SELECTIONS
MONI (2) – INATTENDU (3) – BLACK WALL (1) – ALMANZONE (4)

R3 – PRIX SAREPTA – 2400m (a1 1/2m) – TURF – Condition Race – Maiden – Flat – EUR € 17.000

1. WILLY WINNER – Seldom far off the mark and will benefit from his rider’s 3,5kg allowance. Has
only a place chance
2. OHIME – Has improved recently to finish 2nd in consecutive outings and another bold bid is
expected. Respect
3. ASHALYKA – Confirmed the promise of her debut 3rd by finishing in that position again last time.
Winning chance
4. ANGEL GUIDANCE – Caught the eye on debut (5th) and is likely to have come on with the
benefit of that run. Leading light
5. ATTITUDE – Showed promise on debut (4th) and would’ve gained plenty from that outing, so is
likely to improve
6. KATHINA – Finished an encouraging 3rd on debut and would’ve improved with that experience.
Not taken lightly
7. RAMREE – Well beaten on debut but showed signs of improvement when finishing 6th last time.
More is needed
8. SUNSHINE COAST – Unplaced in both starts and made no impression in her most recent outing.
Hard to make a case for

Summary : A number of interesting candidates in this competitive maiden. ASHALYKA (3) has
revealed potential and ought to open her account sooner rather than later after finishing 3rd in both
starts. ANGEL GUIDANCE (4) caught the eye on debut and is likely to improve with the benefit of
that experience, so also features high on the shortlist. OHIME (2) has the form and experience to
have a say in the finish, though the same could be said of both ATTITUDE (5) and KATHINA (6)
who should have more to offer after encouraging introductions.

SELECTIONS
ASHALYKA (3) – ANGEL GUIDANCE (4) – OHIME (2) – ATTITUDE (5)

R4 – PRIX GERARD SAMOUN – 1400m (a7f) – TURF – Claiming – Flat – EUR € 17.000

1. MACHITO – Consistent colt with solid form references on both turf and fibresand. Sets the
standard, hard to beat
2. GRAY D’ALBION – Out of sorts in handicap races and on the PSF recently but his only win was
at this level. Keep safe
3. AL ET CHOP – Undeniably capable but appears to have gone off the boil recently, so has to
reaffirm. Watch for now
4. AVERSA – Ultra-consistent filly who was outclassed in a Listed race last time. Should fare better
eased in grade
5. CHALDERO – Well-beaten 11th on debut over 1300m before improving to finish 6th over 1000m
last time. Outsider
6. PRADANA – Has made no impression in recent outings and looked rather ordinary to this point.
Can be ruled out
7. POUP’S – Struggling for some time now and showing no signs of sparking any improvement.
Others preferred
8. GO JOHNNY GO GO GO – Returned to form when finishing 4th last time and could get into the
picture if confirming. Dark horse
9. KHABESA – Unreliable filly but is quite capable of staking a claim in a race of this nature under
just 50kg. Respect

Summary : It is difficult to go against MACHITO (1) who is a standout pick on ratings and drops in
class with the benefit of his rider’s 3,5kg allowance. AVERSA (4) fluffed her lines last time but is
also eased in grade and has solid form references, so ought to give the selection most to fear.
Having won his only start in this category, GRAY D’ALBION (2) could have a role to play. KHABESA
(9) can take advantage of her low weight to get into the picture, with GO JOHNNY GO GO GO (8)
not incapable of doing likewise.

SELECTIONS
MACHITO (1) – AVERSA (4) – GRAY D’ALBION (2) – KHABESA (9)

R5 – PRIX MADAME JEAN COUTURIE – 2000m (a1 1/4m) – TURF – Condition Race – Listed – Flat – EUR € 55.000

1. ZEEYARA – Highly regarded debut winner who was a little too lively last time (4th). Capable of
better, keep safe
2. HALEINE – Lightly raced filly who has revealed potential. Steps up in class but has scope to
improve, watch out
3. LA DONNA – German maiden who has looked particularly limited to this point and is hard to
make a case for. No
4. CHELSEA GREEN – British raider, daughter of US Navy Flag, makes the trip with legitimate
ambitions. Not taken lightly
5. SANTHIA – Has hit her straps recently, winning consecutive outings over this distance. More to
do, place chance
6. ABHA – Has been consistent at a lower level and recently finished a 3rd in a claiming race. Has
more to do
7. WILD PANSY – Improving filly and last-start winner over this distance. Will have more to offer so
ought to have a say
8. FROZEN – Finished 4th of 11 in a German Group III last time and on that form could sneak into
the picture here
9. EAGLE BABE – Deemed good enough to debut in a Listed race, finishing 8th of 10 at Chantilly.
Open to improvement
10. AKAGERA – Has maintained her consistency without building on the promise of her winning
debut. Must improve
11. MAYLIN – Lost her unbeaten record this year when finishing 3rd in the Italian Oaks (Gr.II) last
time. Can fight for victory
12. THE LAST WALTZ – Progressive last-start winner who is not without a chance with further
improvement likely. Keep safe

Summary : This 2000m Listed race for three-year-old fillies is the highlight of the meeting. MAYLIN
(11) lost her unbeaten record this year when finishing 3rd in the Group II Italian Oaks last time and,
on the strength of that form, is taken to recapture the winning thread back on French soil. WILD
PANSY (7) did just that when stepped up to this trip for the first time in her last start at Saint-Cloud
and need only confirm that improvement to fight for victory. ZEEYARA (1) has shown serious
means but is temperamental. She is dangerous to dismiss but will need to mind her manners.
Supplemented for this race, THE LAST WALTZ (12) is not without a chance either.

SELECTIONS
MAYLIN (11) – WILD PANSY (7) – ZEEYARA (1) – THE LAST WALTZ (12)

R6 – PRIX DE CHOUVIGNY – 1600m (a1m) – TURF – Claiming Handicap – Class 4 – Flat – EUR € 12.000

1. MYBOYFRIEND – Has struggled in both outings off this mark after winning a handicap three
starts back. Can do better eased in grade
2. HYBRID – In good physical condition and has not gone unnoticed recently, finishing 5th in two
of his last three starts. Outsider
3. MUELHEIMER PERLE – Rewarded for consistency with a last-start victory and should remain
competitive. High on shortlist
4. AFGHANY – Has shown signs of improvement in recent outings, finishing 4th last time. Could
get a look in here
5. ASHDEL – Has looked distinctly ordinary for some time now, so his chances are limited even at
this level. Ignore
6. BUTI – Undeniably capable but has been out of sorts in his last 3 outings. Can do better at this
level though
7. FOREST OF WISDOM – Inconsistent and unreliable but remains capable of playing a role in a
race of this nature. Dark horse
8. ON LOCKDOWN – Regular participant at this level last year, seldom finishing far off the mark.
Absent since October, for another day
9. FRENCH PEGASUS – Has improved with each start recently and could reconnect with success
on his return to this track. Winning chance
10. MYSTICAL PRINCE – Has been struggling for some time now and is unlikely to trouble the
judge here. Can be ruled out
11. SPACE FORCE – Undeniably capable but has been more effective on the PSF recently, so is
probably best watched for now
12. MUGUETTE GIRL – Has nothing noteworthy to her name for a considerable period now so can
be ruled out as a result

Summary : FRENCH PEGASUS (9) has regained freshness since finishing an improved 3rd at
Lyon-Parilly in his last start back in May and, having pleased on this track last year, is taken to
make a winning return to this venue. MUELHEIMER PERLE (3) is in good form and is capable of
fighting for victory again despite a 2kg penalty for her last-start success. MYBOYFRIEND (1),
although out of sorts, is capable of better than his recent figures suggest and has here a good
opportunity to rediscover his form. FOREST OF WISDOM (7) fits a similar profile so cannot be
written off just yet.

SELECTIONS
FRENCH PEGASUS (9) – MUELHEIMER PERLE (3) – MYBOYFRIEND (1) – FOREST OF
WISDOM (7)
